Cabot Lodge Jackson North - a Red Lion Hotel

The Cabot Lodge is a hotel in serious need of some renovations. Our hallway had wallpaper peeling off the walls. The "granite" counter in the bathroom seemed like it was oozing water. It was wet when got in the room, so we wiped it down, and it was wet when we returned. In fairness to the hotel, we didn't say anything until we checked out. We were rushing to an event, so we didn't take time to ask for a different room. We got back to the room late, so we didn't do anything then either. The keypads that allow you to get into the side doors after hours are all broken. The "happy hour" features cheap beer and cheap cocktails, and the breakfast was not very good. We won't be staying here again.

I stayed here one night. It was a great room. The only major complaint I had was temperature control didn't seem to work well. My wife and I were freezing and I had the unit set to heat and a temp of 77 degrees. It remained frigid. But since it was only for one night, I didn't mind it too much. Plus they had enough blankets and covers to make up for it as long as you stay in the bed. Thank you everyone at the hotel!

Layout, furnishings pleasant but guest room had very musty odor and floor a bit sticky.

Only problem was.room a/c units were noisy and didn't function well.

A/c didn't work that well but overall great. Great free breakfast with eggs biscuits sausage bacon fruit and much more. Great hotel

The location of this hotel was the primary reason I chose it -- close to an attorney's office where I had a closing the next morning. Unfortunately, it's location has also become a sore spot in the crime-ridden city of Jackson. The door keys never worked -- not just my room. I saw many others at the front desk getting their cards remagnetized. If the cards are worn out -- replace them rather than locking guests repeatedly out of their rooms. The tub's stopper never would open to allow a guest to take a shower. Whenever you took a shower or bath, you would have to bend over and hold the stopper in an up position to drain the bath water. The breakfast was poor. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs, the biscuits were doughy, the muffins were substandard, and to top it all, every single television in the breakfast lounge was tuned to the mindless rants of FOX news.

We found sugar ants in the bed. They were alive, under the bed covers. Could not find the food or other source attracting them. Were moved to a neighboring room.

They brag about the lodge atmosphere , but the fire place was broke & the chairs are wore out ! This place needs major updates !

Our family had a good stay here. While this is an older facility, everything except the hallways and the furniture in the lodge room were in excellent shape. Newly renovated bathrooms. The lodge room is a great place for breakfast and evening cocktails - not the standard overcrowded room but rather a beautiful, soaring space with wood ceiling and central fireplace.

Found this hotel last minute on the way to Jackson. Pleasantly surprised! It was more than I expected. Good size room, clean, with comfortable beds. Very friendly desk staff and a HUGE lobby/gathering area reminiscent of a northern lodge! 4 kiddos really liked that. Good hot buffet breakfast too. Would love to have stayed longer but were just passing through. Great value for $93 total. Have paid a lot more for less!

The Staff was very friendly and my stay was very comfortable. The Cabott's Breakfast is one of the main reasons I stay there. All you can eat Eggs, Bacon, Biscuits, Cereal, Community Brand Coffee. I like to start my day out right when I'm working on the road with a big breakfast. The Cabott exceeds expectations in the breakfast department.

Comfortable, Cozy, Clean, & Relaxing. Hospitality hour was nice. Enjoyed our stay....will definitely book here again

There was no one working the front desk when I attempted to check in. After waiting several minutes, a man in a Cabot uniform informs me that the lady running the front desk went to the restroom and will be right back. I continued to wait. A lady in the Cabot uniform, who I later find out tends the bar, came by and asked the man why I was waiting. He said the clerk would be right back. Several minutes go by and another lady comes in to try to check in. She becomes agitated. At this point I have been waiting 10 minutes. I go to my car and get the kids out and bring them to the lobby to wait. And I wait. The lady behind me asks the man if he can check us in. No. She asks him if there is anyone he can call to check us in. No. Can he go knock on the door to make sure the lady is OK? He laughs. No. He says, All she asked me to do was watch the desk while she goes to the restroom. I decide to go looking for ANYONE else who works there. I found the lady who had walked by before. She becomes alarmed when she realizes I'm still trying to check in. She is about to go looking for the desk clerk when she comes out from the back. The bartender tells her she has people waiting to check in, but she doesn't acknowledge her. I run back to get in line and check on the kids. I get back to the desk a full minute before the desk clerk. She doesn't care that we've been waiting! She never apologized for my wait or even said thank you while I was checking in. She seemed to be irritated that I came in while she was on break. I tried to ask her a question about check out procedures, but she cut me off saying I would get an itemized bill. I assumed she meant slipped under the door, but I never received my bill. There were other interactions with staff that led me to believe they do not care. In fact, the only nice and helpful person I met on the staff was the lady working the bar area. I also want to point out that our room did not have a refrigerator or a microwave. The lobby was nice and the breakfast was good (not great). Our room was clean. None of this overrides the 20 minute wait to check in. I will be staying in the Jackson-area again this weekend, but I will NOT be staying at Cabot Lodge. I have a feeling they really don't care if you come back or not.

Very nice hotel. My family and I have stayed here many times. I love the cocktail hour, although I missed it this trip. Room very clean however the air conditioning could have been cooler.

Never heard of hotel. Found in AAA guide. Bet good accomedations. HVAC in room was tired, public chairs a limitless worn.

Andrew took care of us very well. He went beyond the call of duty.
