This Hotel sits nicely on top of a hill overlooking the bay. As you'll note in pictures, you can lounge in or out of the pool with a beautiful view. Straight from the airport its about 20-30 min. Airport tip: You can go to the taxi stand and get your own taxi or you can get a 'shared' ride with other travelers. The shared ride is like a fifth of the price but you will stop along the way for other travelers to be dropped off. Your own taxi gets you the freedom to go straight to the Worldmark or you can stop at the store if you like, rather than get to the hotel, then taxi back out to the store (if you want to do that). The staff is exceptional and helpful for anything that you may need. They can easily help arrange excursions and tours (deep sea fishing and snorkeling, sightseeing) if you like. Rooms were clean and everything worked well. Rooms have TV, small fridge, and a microwave. The decor had a rustic Mexican villa look, but the white plaster also gave me a Mediterranean feel. There are some rooms that don't have a balcony. But pretty much every room has a spectacular view. You can leech off the free wifi off the restaurant, but for a small charge I got fast wifi as I needed it for some work I had to do. Very stable and fast as I was able to do video conferencing with no problem. The hotel restaurant has decent food and it is nice to eat with a wonderful view. They also feature happy hour drinks 2x1. Drinks are average unless you go top shelf, but prices for drinks as well as food are inflated for tourists. Guess you pay for the convenience. I just had our taxi driver from the airport stop at the grocery store (no extra charge) and I stocked up on my 'essentials' for refreshments. The small size of the hotel makes it enjoyable to chill on your own or socialize and meet other guests. You can get a massage right near the pool for around $35 USD but near the beaches or in town you can be at half or a third of that price. Walks to town and nearby restaurants and the beaches are about 10-15 min. I highly recommend checking out local restaurants. Within as little as a 5 min to 10 walk you can visit neighborhood places with fantastic seafood, burgers, and local cuisine. And of course, local prices. You can easily take a water taxi to Las Gatas beach which has some nice snorkeling. However, this beach is popular for tourists and locals so I would avoid it on the weekends. A true jewel not usually mentioned is to go to Contra Mar beach. Exit the hotel and walk to the left. Just about 2 minutes around the curve of the road, there's a defined path that maneuvers you all the way down through the woods to this little secluded cove. The shore is all smooth stones, but its totally private and great for snorkeling. Need some more help finding it, just ask the staff for help. All in all , this is a wonderful property that has it's ups and downs over the years with different ownerships. Definitely on the UPs with Worldmark.

We recently spent 10 days at the WorldMark Zihuatenajo and want to express out thanks for the attentive, hard-working, and friendly staff that we interfaced with there as well as a beautiful, well maintained property. Yooniel was there to greet us with his perpetual warm smile and pleasant disposition. Seems that man just never had a bad day and couldn't do enough to make our stay more pleasant, always there to help with directions and welcome information and ideas. The ladies (X &Y had their names in my IPHONE but cannot locate them now) at the reception desks were extremely helpful and always available to provide information, directions, and answer question related to the area and activities that might be of interest to us. The room was nice with great views of the grounds, mountains, and bay. Food was well prepared and reasonably priced and the wait staff was efficient and very pleasant. Our only complaint was related to the air conditioning unit in our room. It made irritating and often loud squealing/screeching noise. While in the room we seemed to be continuously coughing nonstop and believe this was due to mold and dirt that was being blown into the room from the noisy AC unit. If the AC unit has been cleaned/repaired we highly recommend you consider staying in this WorldMark. Guarantee you will enjoy the efficient and friendly staff that work there. We felt very safe, not only at WorldMark, but also while browsing downtown and taking excursions into Ixtapa. Warmest Regards, Arden & Donna

We had a fantastic 10 days in Zihuatanejo. The Hotel staff was stellar in all ways! The restaurant staff was also wonderful! The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. I can't compliment the staff enough, they made our trip so enjoyable. We got to know several of them. One of them even brought us coconut candy that his wife had made for us! We have already booked our trip for next year at the same time. So Mari, Luis, Cesar, Antonio, Iggy, Yolo (at the front door)and all the other wonderful staff we will see you in 2019! This little town is amazing and the people are so nice and happy. I recommend Las Gatas, La Ropa and Isla Ixtapa. The walk in to town is not far. Do it early before it gets too hot and taxi it back. We never felt unsafe even walking the lovers walkway at 11 pm stumbling across a festival with food, music and fireworks! Also go fishing if you can! The Hotel made us boxed lunches to take on the boat although you can buy a wonderful lunch right on the dock at 6am to take with you. We saw hundreds of Dolphins at sunrise jumping and frolicking with our boat. We caught a Dorado and a couple Chulas and the Hotel cooked it up for us with a wonderful table by the pool (separate from the others) white table cloth, flowers, candles. We really felt special! Thank you again Worldmark for a wonderful trip! This was my 12th time to Mexico, still love the people, culture etc.

We visited the Worldmark in Oct. 2017. The staff was very kind, helpful, and attentive. The resort was average, and not very near the beach, however the pool was amazing. The air conditioning in the room did not work very well so if staying cool is a priority, you might look elsewhere. If you do stay here, the service in the bar by the pool is outstanding, and the view is amazing.....and you must go down the street to Lety’s down the road for the best coconut shrimp and shrimp cocktail on the planet.

Hard to review this property as it was raining daily and we stuck to our room, using the pool briefly, only on departure day. But it was a great room, big Jacuzzi tub, nice size fridge, lots of living area and a big patio overlooking the bay beyond the trees. We were upgraded to a room superior to what we’d paid for, (thanks Rafael!) probably as it wasn’t that busy and to make us feel better in the lousy weather. A bit of a walk into town, down 130 steps or so and then 10 mins along a rough road, over a bridge, and voilà - restaurants, shops, beaches, parks, pier with boat cruises. Worth it! Coming back up was a little more difficult often in the rain but we got in good shape. Really enjoyed the trip, regardless of the weather. Will return.

The room we had was very clean and comfortable but stepping out to the balcony to enjoy the view was breathtaking. That same view is visible from the restaurant and the pool. The price you pay for the view is that you have to go down or up 170 steps to get to the town but it is worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is not bad but you can find much better just down the steps or further into town. I don't think you can find a better place to enjoy a drink with a view.

This place is quiet, quaint and absolutely perfect! Staff is helpful, attentive and extremely polite Pool is perfect and times when we had it all to ourselves Our room had a kitchenette and it worked out great - breakfast and lunches in the room and out for dinner Loved our stay

Knew we were in the right place for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation when friendly staff greeted us outside the hotel. With this hotel situated high above a fishing village, you have the most spectacular view when you sit at the pool, in the open air restaurant, or on your balcony. The all tiled room was clean and spacious, with 2 comfortable queen beds and air conditioning. There was no kitchenette, but did have a microwave and small fridge. Small problem with toilet running and not flushing properly, but once staff notified it was fixed quickly. The hotel offers spa services in a tent poolside, reasonably priced. Restaurant has excellent coconut shrimp and very tasty salads. If you are a fisherman/woman and bring back your catch of the day, the chef is most gracious and will cook it to perfection. Happy hour twice a day, Modelo Special is great beer, but the bartender makes a delicious strawberry or mango daiquiri. For a cold non alcoholic drink, hibiscus tea is a must. For those that want adventure or something different, the front desk staff are a great resource for ideas and will book trips for you. We booked a Mexican cooking class and a day trip which included stops at a coconut plantation, museum and pyramids which were amazing. Although the hotel is not beachfront, if you want exercise, there are steps (about 140) you can walk down to take you to the beach or into Zihuatenajo for shopping. If not wanting to walk, staff will gladly get you an inexpensive cab. For a first time traveler to Mexico, WorldMark Zihuatenajo was the perfect choice to experience a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere with warm, personable staff who really do make a difference in making your stay exceptional.

Worldmark Zihuatenajo is a very beautiful place with an awesome outdoor restaurant. It's an older hotel converted into a resort. It's off by itself, two miles from the city. This is not a typical Worldmark property. There are no kitchens or laundry facilities or exercise room. Most rooms are hotel rooms.

Yes, the views are spectacular, yes the rooms are "neat as a pin", yes the resort dining is "delish" and yes it will be the most unique boutique hotel you will probably ever stay in. But that's not why Villa Vera by WorldMark is an experience you will never forget. It's the staff! The people you come into contact every day will be remembered for years to come. Their warmth, smiling faces, eager to please and professionalism is what makes this 25 room resort tick. No doubt, Wyndham, the new owners have provided the building blocks for success, however it is General Manager Caldron, the "all knowing" Juan Carlos, Senior's Iggy, Jorge, Zender and a host of other hard working staff members who make it all happen! Thank you guys for yet another memorable vacation Mark & Dolce0
