This was the second time we have stayed at the Miramar in Rabac. As previously, we have found it to be clean, well run, and its simplicity suits us fine. Considering it was the end of the season we still found all the staff we encountered to be hardworking, courteous and helpful. Special thanks must go to Anja though, who was on reception when we arrived - she'll know why! The dining room staff worked really hard to clear tables etc., and whilst the food was not 'à la carte' we always had a tasty meal - and it was quite civilised - with no awful pushing and queuing for food, like some other hotels we've stayed at before. Our room was lovely - and unlike a previous reviewer our shower door opened outwards!!... his must have been a 'Friday afternoon' job. There was always plenty of pressure and hot water in the shower as well. Housekeeping was dealt with efficiently every day... thanks Farija. Unfortunately the weather was a bit 'iffy' - but we tried to make the most of the breaks in the cloud, and had some lovely walks on some of the surrounding trails in the area. I did actually manage a swim in the Adriatic one morning - bit cold at first, but quite nice once you'd got in. Although this is no reflection on the hotel Miramar, we found the vast newly refurbished and extended hotel complexes of TUI Family Life Belleview and Girandella resorts around the corner have somewhat spoiled the lovely natural coastline walks with their spread out pools, sun beds, brollies and purpose built concrete swimming and sunbathing platforms... what a shame. My best tip would be if you are going to hire a car (which I highly recommend) then ditch the transfer if you're on a package deal, as we found the price of a hire car in Rabac resort for ONE day was the same as hiring one at the airport online for FOUR days i.e. at least four times the price in resort. We therefore didn't bother with a car as we didn't want to pay the vastly overpriced deals quoted. Overall we had a lovely holiday and can recommend the Hotel Miramar if you don't require too much in the way of amenities and entertainment etc., and are content to enjoy the perfectly adequate facilities provided, and the fairly 'laid back' resort. Once again, thank you to all the lovely staff for looking after us throughout our enjoyable stay.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Hotel Miramar. The hotel is clean spacious and the staff are very friendly and work hard. Room - we had a side room with a sea view, the room was big enough for what we needed, the bathroom was clean, we did have a problem with the shower, the holder had broken, this was repaired within 30 minutes of us informing reception. I asked for an additional pillow again, within 30 minutes house cleaning brought one to the room, There is not a fridge nor a kettle in the room, but we were aware of this before we travelled and brought a travel kettle with us. We did not get the sun on the balcony, however this was not a problem. Food - we went for the half board option, with the view we would eat out most evenings, which we did as the food in the resort is some of the best we have ever tasted, a visit to Nostromo is a must. We did however eat dinner once in the hotel, it was ok, typical all inclusive type of food. There was a great selection at breakfast and the staff work hard to ensure tables are cleared quickly and the food is topped up. Bar - It was disappointing that at approx 10 pm the bar lights go off, and although it does not close till 11 you get the feeling they want you to leave before then. Trips - Our Jet2rep was one of the best rep's we have ever had. Very knowledgeable we went to Rovenjki & Venice both well recommended, we went also hired a boat one afternoon and went round the bay, and took the bus to Libon which is 10 minutes up the road. Hill - This hotel is on a hill, however its not too steep, I have MS and use a stick and managed it ok, if you leave the hotel via the pool exit then there are steps which are less severe than the hill. The buses for all trips leave from a bus stop which again is up a hill.
Check out the attached photograph. The shower door opens inwards making it virtually impossible to close the door once you have entered and just as difficult to get back out. Squeezing through a tiny gap with the fear that the door will smash under the pressure or the hinges will fail! Absolutely ridiculous design, in fact I think the contractor must have installed it backwards as it make no logical sense. Perhaps the management were afraid that someone might accidentally smash the door on the toilet, sliding doors or even a decent curtain would be better suited to this space. The rooms are VERY small, no room for luggage, no fridge, no safe, not very traveler friendly. On the plus side, the hotel is spotlessly clean. Didn't try the dinner service and a bit miffed that Valamar do not offer the rooms without the usual package hotel garbage buffet breakfast and dinner. Rabac has some of the finest restaurants in the world, second to none in reality.
Lovely 3+ star hotel, very close to the beaches of Rabac. Clean rooms, terrific staff and very helpful. Food at breakfast and dinner was varied and always hot and pleasant. Only minor flaw is the pool is salt water, not ideal for me or my son. But a small personal issue. Really lovely, will return.
Hotel Miramar is close to the sea, not far from the town. Food was good, didn't run out although the hotel was full.and staff was really nice. Unfortunately there is no mini bar in the room, therefore I had to ask at the bar to put something into the freezer over night. They did it gladly. Room was clean. We also got a good offer. Becoming a Valamar ( the group the hotel belongs to) members, which is going to get me some discount next time staying in one of the group's hotels. Would recommend the hotel. Also good for children.
Really friendly stuff, good food, nice rooms, good location. Just lack of park places, but otherwise perferct combination value/price. We have got a room with balcony and sea view with quite new furniture. Everything was very clean. Recommended!
We lived on the top floor of the high building, providing a great view of the Rabac sea. We enjoyed our stay and would come here again, but we would be careful to choose a room with a good view. In the days, we would be at one of the pebble beaches in Rabac, and in the evening we'd dine in the hotel restaurant, which is a bit cramped. The hotel is a bit understaffed, so you have to plan ahead a bit.
We have several places in Croatia and now, Rabac is our favorite. Hotel and areas around are clean. Room is not too big, but enaugh. It gets cleaned every day. Breakfast and dinner choices are wide. The dishes were delicious. Location of hotel is very good, but it is not good for anyone with walking difficulties, because it sits up a hill. Negative: - In the hotel the drinks are very expensive. -There is not fridge in the room -There is not separated parking space for the hotel's guests.
We travelled with 4months old kid for the first time so my review is influenced by this fact. We booked via booking, got nice room with beautiful view - 4th floor. Room, bathroom and balcony were big enough, even when we place little bed for kid in the room. As well, I must say the cupboards in room were big enough to place our stuff for one week holiday. Hotel and areas around are clean, room gets cleaned every day. Hotel staff is kind. Breakfast choices are wide, I loved the pancakes :). Dinner choices are not so great and i must say - 1hour and half is not enough time for all the people to enjoy the dinner. As well, so many people having dinner the same time creates a lot of noise. Location of hotel is perfect, beach and promenade is very close. What i didnt like was actually the noise over the night. There was a concert every night somewhere around which finished at 11pm-ok, I can accept that :)but last night there was a DJ playing in the bar down the hill until 2am!!! I had feeling like it was playing in our room. This is actually not fault of the hotel but i was really surprised that city of Rabac allows any open bar to have DJ playing outside until 2am. As I said we have little baby so we prefer quit areas not Ibiza like bars around :) i guess lot of guests in hotels around could not sleep last night.
We have just spent seven Nights in this Hotel and I wish that when People write reviews they would tell it like it is and not write a whole load of Twaddle the Food in this place is not as some say excellent it is Garbage it's cold uncooked for the most part and of poor quality there is very little choice because the hot food (or should be ) takes up very little space there is a lack of choice for everything (there are three really, what there is, take it.or leave it) Ice Cream is a nono and the reason both for the Food and any Sweet Stuff of any description is the fact that a two tier class system operates in this Hotel there are two sittings one 1830 until 2000 and the second is 2000 until 2100 (note the difference in length) what the latter get is what the elite have picked over and discarded the second sitting gets the left overs (if there are any) . Two nights my Wife had Bread and Baked Potatoes Three nights we ate out, which puts more cost on an already expensive holiday. The other thing is the rooms, we paid extra for a Superior side sea view room, the only thing this room was Superior to was a Broom Closet, when I asked at Reception if they had given us the wrong room the reply was as expected '' I do not understand '' not only was it small but the Sun never ever shone on the Balcony, this together with the continuous smell from the Kitchen made this the worst Holiday we have ever had in 21 years of holidaying in Croatia and this includes other Valamar Hotels all in Porec. The Hotel is clean to the point of being spotless the staff are for the most part helpful and courteous, I must just mention Sandra who looks after the Bar, she is not only as the saying goes(and I am not being sexist) extremely easy on the eye she is a bundle of energy and totally efficient a Bright Shining Star in this miserable establishment.
