Maistra Eden Hotel Rovinj

Even though is surrounded with 5 stars hotel, I prefer Eden before Lone and Monte Mulini. Good food, good service (few years ago service was even better, unfortunately staff changes). Offer could be better, during day there is sport and animation for kids, in the evening except music program there is not much to do if you are stuck in hotel. No night club, no billiard or something similar for entertainment. Staff is always friendly, many familiar faces.

The hotel is located within beautiful park and has a really nice pool scenario (shared with the 5 star Lone hotel). I would say this is the best part of the hotel and is perfect for relaxation. The beach is pebble, very nice and well maintained, but it gets crowded, so the pool area may be more relaxing. The hotel interior, especially rooms are dated and in need for complete refurbishment (doorframe damaged, wardrobe doors broken, safe out of function, stains on carpet). Therefore, it was quite surprising to find in the room a price list for damages caused inside the room (damaged mattress 650 kn, bed repair 350 kn, repair charge for daaged equipment and installations 400 kn + estimate, ...). I have heard that the complete refurbishment of the hotel starts in 2017, so this hotel will get the needed glance. And be great destination for vacation.

We loved. In this hotel. It is not that serious, but just right for family holiday. Beware of the beach. We arrived at 11 AM and took two vacant sunbeds, only to be unceremoniously evicted from them by an angry family who claimed to havereserved them with towels earlier that morning. I dug my heels in, but my partner insisted that we move to avoid a scene. We left the beach and went back to the hotel pool. There is a hotel cabin on the beach, with a guy there, but no towels are given out there and I'm really not sure what he is there for. He certainly wasn't looking after the sunbeds.

The Eden is a large hotel just outside Rovinj town .about 10 mins walk.on the edge of the Zlatni forest park, with fine walks and cycling trails. There is sports ground ,sauna, indoor and outdoor pools.the bedrooms are large bathroom has a shower or bath.and rooms at back of the hotel have views over forest and sea. Meals are half board and eat ad much as you like. This hotel is good the moment it is having a part refit ,for the 2017 season.

The hotel is not new. But is has its charm. Vast lawn, beautiful pool, large lobby. Room 318 is large enoufh but the washroom is small. Very good bed. Complete assortment of toileteries. The hotel is connected to the city by a walkway made of granite. Very nice promenade, well lighted. The breakfast buffet is complete and very good. However, in our room , there was mould along the bath, stained carpet, the shower line was leaking ; the furniture is old and needs replacing ; you need an electrical cord if you wish to connect your gizmos. Overall if do not look at old style rooms, this hotel is well located and worth the price considering other options.

4* Stayed here on wedding anniversary, Oct 2015. Some works needs to be done in the rooms. Carpet and door need repairing. No English paperwork in room. Balconies seem to be used for smoking. Like pumped shampoo in bathroom and separate WC. Comfy beds/pillows!! Other places (Hotel Mulini (5* 204 E.U. a night!!) The local 3* rates in Rovinj are actually 2*. Beware!

Just stayed there for two nights, everything was great, our room 416 was pretty big, we didn't get a chance to try out the pool and the saunas. The food wasn't that great unfortunately, cold pizza and everything tasted the same. But a good hotel for your holidays.

We spent 10 nights here which was just about right. On our arrival we upgraded our room so we had a view of the gardens rather than the main entrance. Upon request it was no problem with the reception staff, who we found to be professional and very helpful. In fact we found most of the staff to be helpful and pleasant. It is amazing what tips you can learn from the staff if you engage with them. Firstly the room. It was a standard hotel room, clean and big enough. Some may think the rooms could do with a bit of updating and they are probably right. The only criticism we had about our room was the sockets. The UK adapters would not fit in the sockets behind the desk and one of the sockets by the patio doors just did not work. But, hey, no big deal. The food. Well, considering the amount of guests that stay at the hotel the food was always excellently presented, well cooked and plentiful. A good variety every night (we stayed half board) and the menu changed daily. No complaints there. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Remember this is not a small Michelin rated restaurant, it is a hotel catering for large number of holiday makers and considering that it was a clean and well run restaurant. The swimming pool area. No need to run out at the crack of dawn to claim you sun bed. We found that the sunbeds outnumbered the guests using the pool from two hotels. Nice pool area, with a reasonable amount of room between people, a good and well run poolside bar, for beers, cocktails, ice creams and small snacks. With a good outdoor restaurant on the opposite side with a larger choice of meals. Plenty of towels so you don't need to take your own. There is a kids club every night in the gardens which was entertaining, a junior disco, magic shows etc, and it seemed to go down well with young families but it was not intrusive to other guests. The beach. Small and compact man made, which gets full pretty quick. Rovinj itself. Lovely little spot, a typical Adriatic coastal town in the Venetian style, quaint, compact and with character. Again like a lot of holiday resorts there are the usual street hawkers, and in some cases, persistent shop owners trying to sell you the usual rubbish. A polite, but firm, no thanks, usually does the trick. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in the town but they get full pretty quickly on an evening and we were glad we went half board. The town itself is a leisurely 30-40 minutes walk away along the coastal path. We took a day trip to Porec by boat. It was a pleasant day out but the boat was full with shoppers and tourists returning to Porec who had arrived during the morning to visit Rovinj. However on the way back from Porec to Rovinj there were only eight or so of us on the boat. Now that was worth the trip. We even saw a couple of dolphins. All in all, a nice hotel, in a nice location. Would we go back? Probably.

On our arrival we were met by Natashe(entertainments manager) and her staff, and Refreshments were laid on for us all,(a nice touch after a long journey..Reception was quick and efficient. Our room was very clean, with a lovely view looking over the trees towards the sea, which we requested prior to our holiday..Beds were very comfortable and bathroom was small but also very clean. Lots of variety for all meal times.(particularly liked the freshly made omelettes for breakfast).Used both indoor and outdoor Swimming Pools, Gym, and Sauna which were all included in the price.First day we went on the free walk around Rovinj with Lily, which was very informative..We also hired bikes from the hotel for a morning, and rode all around the peninsula.(great way of spending a morning)..Rovinj is a wonderful, historic old town, and is approx 15/20 minute walk from the hotel..Natashe's team were brilliant with their customers, and tried to involve as many people as possible in their events..We went to there Croatian lessons which was great, and also tried Archery. Decided after only a few minutes,I would never make a Robin Hood, but it was fun.LOL..Just have to mention some of Natashe's team==Karla,-Non-Parla, Mel Ani, Morena Pilko, Marijeta, and all the others that were sooooooo friendly, and really made our holiday..Free safe was also a nice touch..All the staff speak pretty good english but I learned quite a few Croatian phrases before we went, and the staff definitely responded in a lovely manner when I tried to talk to them in Croatian, and they seemed to enjoy teaching me quite a few more words and phrases during the holiday..Just loved the Hotel Eden and all the Staff..The Eden Hotel is having a refit for next year so should be even better..

Our group - a busload of Austrians - stayed here for two nights. Check-in was efficient, fast and friendly, as was the front desk in general. The room was clean and everything worked, but in places the hotel is showing its age: scruffy, bunched-up carpets in the halls, padding on the door to the room shabby, same for grouting around the base of the shower. The vertical window-glass strip in the bathroom was, I suppose, a modern touch the last time the hotel was renovated, but it didn't make any sense to me. At least there was a venetian blind that could be lowered for privacy. The bed was very comfy. What was excellent was the food, whether breakfast or dinner: the variety for both meals was enormous (even porridge that was actually as tasty as in GB) and the quality very good. The hotel is set in a lovely park and it is within walking distance of the old town of Rovinj. From my experience and that of others in our group, the WIFI was weak and unreliable.
