Recently renovated peaceful and beautiful hotel. Located in lush woodland we were falling asleep to the scops owls hooting and waking up to sunshine and bird song. The gounds are extensive and well kept and rooms are spotless. Excellent wi-fi. Semi-private beach is located just beyond the outdoor swimming pool and the picturesque old town of Rovinj and harbour a short walk away. The hotel put on a small welcome buffet on arrival which is a lovely touch, avoids the long routine check in and allows staff to locate your cases to the correct room. Breakfast and dinner are amazing. The choice and combinations are limited only by your own imagnation. Truffle tortelini and clam spaghetti deserve a special mention! Oooh as does the gelato. Don't expect to lose weight! Reception staff, room attendants, restaurant and bar staff and spa staff are very efficient and helpful. Huge thanks to the brilliant restaurant maitre d'. One of the best I've seen. The indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis are excellent with good access and not too busy. There is also a tennis court to work off the calories : ) We thoroughly recommend a visit to this hotel.
This was our fifth visit to Hotel Eden and this time we stayed for eleven nights. We absolutely love it here for many reasons. The hotel has had a major refurbishment of the rooms meaning you have a new walk in shower and tea/coffee making facilities. This was a great improvement to our stay. We stayed with a toddler and a baby. The room given is on the smaller side for a family room but perfectly adequate. Room is serviced daily and bedding/towels changed when needed. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style and give a wide variety of choice. All staff are impeccably polite and happy to help you. We used the mini-club for our children. Ivana was amazingly patient, friendly and great with our two. If children are over four you can leave them at mini club should you wish. The indoor pool is never busy and we enjoyed taking the children swimming in it. The facilities are immaculately clean. It was a little chilly for outdoor swimming but the pools outside are fantastic with a splash pool for children too. Plenty of sun loungers and also shade under the trees should you wish. You can also use the poolside cafe or eat at the restaurant for lunch near the pool. Rovinj - the old town- itself is a delight. Only a short walk away. Well worth exploring and meandering your way back to the hotel. Grab an ice cream or treat yourself at Hotel Adriatic to a bite to eat. The promenade into town and pebbly beach near the hotel are again clean and well appointed. The sunsets from here are quite spectacular. Be aware that Hotel Park has been demolished so the route into Rovinj along the prom is blocked off. There are alternative routes if you exit the hotel via its main entrance. The nearby forest/park is a joy too. There are plenty of routes and you could hire a bike should you wish. We keep coming back to Hotel Eden and are never disappointed. Would highly recommend as a holiday destination. Hope to have many more holidays here!
What a difference twelve months can make. The rooms did need a make over and what a good job they have done.Every thing has been renewed, fittings, beds, carpets, and a fantastic walk in shower. The only part of the hotel they haven't touched are the dinning room and reception. The food and service are first class and I must say a big thank you to Maneula for looking after us. There are plenty of of sun beds around the pool and on the grass. A walk into the national park is a must as is the walk into town. At the moment you have to walk on the main road into town as they are building a new hotel on the marina, the Park hotel has gone but Iam told this will be the best hotel in Rovinj. We have been many times to this hotel and would recommend it to any body looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.
Agree with other reviews, beautifully appointed rooms, large grounds with sun beds scattered on lawns and in the trees for shade, fantastic pool area and beach.lovely walks thru zlatni park and steady stroll into town.food very acceptable with variety.evening entertainment was good and bar prices very reasonable.definately going back .
We've just returned from a couple of weeks here. Here's our thoughts: LOCATION - brilliant. Although we're not 'poolside people' it still would be if we were. The glorious deep turquoise, clear sea is just a few yards away, with lovely walking and cycling paths, set in a nature reserve. Every little bay is a treasure. THE HOTEL - has been recently refurbished and the rooms are excellent. The only odd thing is the lack of drawers for cloths and bedside bits and pieces. Super walk-in shower and spacious facilities, with tea and coffee making gear. Oddly, although the free wifi is the fastest I've ever measured in a hotel (up to 150mbps download and even higher upload! - I could download my paper un seconds!) the sensible presence of USB plugs on the wall didn't work. THE FOOD - Breakfast is excellent, especially if you like fruit, but there is also porridge! Dinner is not in the same league as breakfast even though there is plenty of choice. The house wine - local of course -is very reasonably priced and is fine. OTHER ASPECTS - If you enjoy biking, hire bikes, including electric are available with a useful map if you ask for it. There's lots of cycle paths though some are a bit loose gravelly - maybe an early season effect? FINALLY - For a change do try a meal at the Yacht Club restaurant Maistral, on the waterfront in Rovinj and go for a fresh fish - e.g. Sea bass - with a bottle of Klisovic malvesia white wine - excellent way to watch the sun go down.
Let me briefly cover why Hotel Eden doesn't get 5*: the chrome and black chairs in the downstairs conference room, most of which are very uncomfortable indeed. They need replacing urgently. As for the rest: excellent! The rooms have been completely rebuilt since we stayed last year - the new bathrooms are fantastic, both to look at and to use. New larger cupboards have been installed so we easily fitted in two weeks' worth of clothes. Comfortable beds- and when the pillows didn't suit my wife they were quickly replaced with ones that did. The grounds remain superb. Even our room, which overlooked the car park, had trees as the major part of the view and you could hear birds. My wife enjoyed an early morning walk in Punta Corrente every day. One particular member of staff stands out: Samanta, who makes omelettes. She was constantly cheerful with everyone, makes great omelettes and told me "I LOVE my job!" So, this is an outstanding hotel - except for those chairs. Top tip: get a room as high as possible to make the best of those lovely views of trees.
Just come back from a week at the Eden. The hotel is beautiful. Fully refurbished for this season. It's not just had a lick of paint, the whole hotel has had complete make over. The rooms are slightly small but they are perfect in every other way. The food is great and the staff are so friendly. The actual location is spot on. It stands on the edge of a national park with lovely sea side walks amongst the trees. The town of Rovinj is breathtaking. A stroll into town and relaxing with a coffee on the harbour front is a must. We hired a car whilst there. At less than £50 for the week it has to be a must. We drove into the hills and to Pula. We also got a vignette for the week( it's like a tax disc to let you go to Slovenia) we visited lake bled which was beautiful and had such different almost Austrian scenery. We also went to the Postojna Caves. I'm not into caves (my hubbys idea to visit) but they were amazing. A must see if you can get. We did the tour to Venice with Thomson which had its pluses and minuses. We checked ferry prices and they were cheapest at the time. However, once on board you get a pretty hard sell from the ferry operator. Some paid an extra 80€ each for the extra tours of Venice etc. In my opinion it wasn't worth it. They were charging 28€ each for a 6 person 30 min gondola ride. ( you can have 40mins for 80€ weather your on your own or have 6 people) there's hundreds of them in Venice so don't be fooled by the talk that they're all booked up! Also they wanted you to take a water taxi to st marks square when you got off the ferry. They say the walk it 40 mins and brisk. In my opinion don't bother. We did s leisurely pace and took us no more than 20mins. I would suggest you buy the map of Venice on board if you don't have one and go and explore for yourself. It's far more exciting and you can stop and go whenever you like. All in all a great holiday. Love the Croatian people.
This hotel is around 16 minutes' walk to the city centre or around Kuna 45 and 8 minute drive on a taxi. So its location is a convenient one if you didn't mind the distance. The rooms although small, are clean and very functional. The entertainment system even has a plug on the wall for and HDMI cable and even a USB one that can be used for charging your gadgets. The hotel has a very good gym and spa facilities. The breakfast buffets is generous. They even have live entertainment in the evenings. The staff are friendly and very helpful, a surprise for me given the size of the hotel. This hotel is large so expect large groups.
The Hotel Eden is a four star gem which has a distinctly five star feel. The hotel is a short drive (about 20 minutes) from the airport which reduces transfer time, and it is ideally situated close to the lovely town of Rovinj. Rooms are newly refurbished as is the entire hotel including the grounds, and even their stunning shingle beach has been beautifully designed so you will always feel the same sense of ambiance and comfort. The spa facilities are well kept, clean and the pool is a good size. The outdoor pool is split into two and is large, warm and surrounded by plenty of loungers. There are further places to relax, eat a snack or have a drink around the pool, and even off along the path which straddles the edge of the headland - a must if you like walking or bike riding. There is a very large restaurant which is buffet style and there is always plenty of food to suit all tastes. The restaurant staff are all jolly and really wait on you. In a word, the Hotel Eden is Magnificent. We visited the Hotel Eden for a week in May 2017. The weather was not quite as warm as mid summer but was pleasant none the less. We prefer locations which have a bit more culture and greenery and this hotel fits the category perfectly. The grounds are extensive and we took full advantage of long walks and relaxing hideaways. We were met by superb reps who exceeded what we really needed, they were very knowledgeable about the hotel and the area, and gave us the extra support for my disabilities which took the stress completely away. When my mobility scooter broke down they provided me with a wheelchair free of charge, and they even got their handyman to fix the problem with my scooter - he knows his stuff. The food is nothing short of excellent, and this reflects in the damage I've done to my weight. We were in Rovinj most days as it is easy to reach on foot, and they have a lovely open air market. We were able to do as much or as little as we felt we wanted to, the holiday was superb. Get to know the rep at the hotel as he knows his stuff and is very approachable. Ask about the table-tennis tournament it is so much fun. Try the little cafes along the path which straddles the coast, they are lovely places to sit and watch the waves. Be sure to catch the sunsets, which are incredible. Use the excursions Thomson have to offer, we were a little early in the season for some, but they are all running now, and you will get so much more out of your trip to Croatia. A new hotel is being built which means you have to go into the town using the streets instead of the coast path, but it's a pleasant walk and only takes about 15-20 minutes anyway. If you like deserts, please do try the Strudel - they serve it at every mealtime, and sell it (reasonably priced) in large portions at the bar next to the outdoor pool. We didn't hear of a single complaint the entire week, but any they did get would have been trivial. We have fallen in love with the hotel and will be back.
I was a little worried about the condition of the hotel reading some previous comments on TripAdvisor but indeed - the rooms must have been refurbished last winter, as the hotel looks and smell like brand new! Really - cannot complain on anything! Great quality also of the meals, good service, really 4 star hotel. I wonder how it looks in the middle of the season, as we're here in May and it was sometimes crowded (mainly by some organised German or Austrian trips) - so it may be very busy in July and August. It is also located very close to the Rovinj old town, so after very nice walk you can get there. Unfortunately due to the large construction works on the sea side between the hotel and old town (I think again Maistra - owner of Eden, Lone and many other hotels in the area - is building another hotel?) you cannot walk to the centre by the sea...
