The location of the hotel is excellent, in a beautiful garden near the sea. Rooms are renovated, spacious with balconies. The hotel has cool gym and spa area, with a pool that is filled with sea water. There is also a spa area with steam room, sauna. This area is shared male and female together. Gym is small but the equipment is of great quality, Technogym. It is possible to rent a bike. Dinner and breakfast were buffets style.

Very modern and urbane, new, 4* hotel in Rovinj, Croatia. Rooms are very spacious, with flat TVs and satellite channels. There is free wifi throughout the hotel, spa, swimming pool, several conference rooms and a huge restaraunt. Highly recommended for business meetings as well as for family holidays..

The Eden hotel is in a quiet spot, our room was a junior suite and was spacious. The beach area was beautiful and breakfast was great. However, hoping to take 4 nights at the Hotel Eden to recharge I returned to England exhausted. On our first night the temperature in our room was 26 degrees. I was told by reception that they had turned the air con off and we realised that we were not able to control our room temperature, I was also told that an engineer would come to our room, no one appeared. We then left the door open but I was disturbed by cars driving past and so we all (my husband and 2 daughters) did not sleep well. I spoke to reception everyday to try and resolve but was fobbed off. When I was checking out a receptionist sympathised and said that as there were older people in the hotel they had asked for the temperature to be increased - what a fiasco! At no time did I receive a proper explanation or indeed an apology. Very, very disappointed.

Maybe my expectation were too high... room is clean and the staff is polite and helpful. Buffet breakfast and dinner are very basic and unimaginative; only gluten free diet, no-egg is a problem. Tends to repeat after four days... We expected much from 50ha natural park, but this enyojment was spoiled by two building sites. If this is what they are ‘selling’ the price should be much lower (so is my score).

Stayed here as part of a package . Staff were all very friendly and helpful room was very good ( they have recently been refurbished) walk in shower' robes , safe, tea/ coffee making facilities. Stayed half board , breakfast was excellent ..lovely omelettes, same for dinner . It's a buffet and there was always plenty of choice. I was impressed that there was a good selection of gluten free food all labelled . Drinks were a little expensive , but to be expected in a hotel . The grounds are really lovely with woodland walks and bike hire .has own beach ( free for residents) and several pools including a very nice indoor one. Lots of activities available if you want them . Would reccommend

This hotel is in a very nice location, located adjacent to pine forests and the sea, but within easy walking distance of the lovely town of Rovinj. The hotel has lovely grounds a very nice pool area and good rooms. Unfortunately that is where the good parts end. The restaurant area itself is fine, but the food is pretty tasteless and the quality of the waiting staff variable. Most staff are good, but if you are unfortunate enough to get one of the poor ones then you will have to wait quite some time for drinks or to get the plates cleared. On one occasion we had the plates for the whole of our meal piled up on the table. When the restaurant manager eventually noticed he told the waitress to get the plates cleared, but she ignored him and just walked away. Perhaps that explains the lazy attitude of some of the staff. We used the snack bar Oleander on a couple of times, but the food was poor and the service atrocious. One of the things that stood out at this hotel was how miserable most of the staff were. I realise there is always a mixture of staff in any hotel, but this hotel had more long faces than anywhere else I have stayed in the last 35 years. The bar staff were pretty efficient, but again were mostly miserable. The exception to this were the entertainment team who were always smiling, friendly and helpful. I have never seen as many disagreements between staff members and guests as I saw here.

Starting with the positive; the grounds are lovely with plenty of choice of sunbeds in the sun or shade. We sat near the pool once but it's surprisingly noisy (the pumps/drainage for the pool type noise). Our room and bathroom were nicely furnished and we appreciated the kettle and tea/coffee facilities. The beds/pillows were comfortable and the room was very well sound proofed. The rooms have quiet closing doors and with carpets in the rooms and the hallways its a pleasant experience. The staff with only few exceptions seemed pretty miserable (particularly the girls behind the bar who never smile). The weather was appalling while we were there so we stayed in the hotel more than we would have otherwise. Whoever designed the bar area can never have sat there to enjoy a drink. It resembles an airport lounge with the bar a small area within the hotel foyer and during the evenings it is very bright (with the main lights on) and although they have standard lamps next to the sofas and arm chairs we never saw them used. It's not at all relaxing because it is on the only route from the lifts to the restaurant so people are constantly traipsing through. On the plus side the standard of music acts in the lounge was very good though. The restaurant is quite a pleasant area but on a number of occasions we had trouble getting served with drinks at dinner and coffee at breakfast. We found the quality of food to be pretty poor, just uninteresting and unimaginative. It was difficult to find something you wanted to eat. Quite disappointing on the whole.

My girlfriend and I fancied a 10 day break somewhere close to the UK with some late summer sun. Somewhere to relax, chill and not do much. Perfect place for that to be honest. Hotel is good, they have done a great job renovating an old soviet building into a modern day hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious, pool is good, beach great. Gym is big, indoor pool ok, sauna area good except be prepared to go in fully naked - it's a Croatian thing. Too much for our British prude-ness! Breakfast good, only issue is restaurant staff are generally a bit rude, and if you get to breakfast "late" you'll have to find and set your own table. Only downside! Restaurant staff, albeit some are good. Dinner ok too. All good as included in the package. Wine all tastes the same. Local beers nice. Overall 4 out of 5.

It was an omen - the BBC World News weather forecast started each day with a warning about Adriatic storms with a big yellow mark over the Hotel Eden. It rained for 5 out of 7 days with two days all-day non-stop. But we were a party of 7 fun lovers so hey! The rooms were excellent, beautiful bathrooms (careful with the shower - either scalding or tepid), clean towels every day and white fluffy dressing gowns for posing as sanatorium patients. The pool area had two eccentrically complicated pools using every trick in the pool book. Not much good for swimming but safe. A small bar lurked by the pool - all smart and clean. Further towards the sea was the outdoor Oleander restaurant, and a short walk later the Mullini Beach bar, with sofas and a wine list including a champagne at 12,000 kuna . The 4* Eden, 5* Lone and 5* Mullini, and another 5* under construction are all run by the Maistra Group and share staff - so your new-found friend can pop up in any bar, restaurant or whatever. The hotels don't compete - in effect it is one operation from which there is no escape. Even if you venture into Rovinj, in search of an alternative, there is the Hotel Adriatic run by Maistra and obviously supplied by the same central food factory - somewhere. We seldom could smell cooking. This results in the food in the Eden being dire - breakfast ordinary but dinner very poor. We were asked by several people what we had found to eat the previous night and the usual answer was not much. Nor had they. Clearly, much is frozen and heated to order; bread is the half-baked stuff that gets a bit of heat to make it appear fresh. Our taxi driver warned us to be careful where the restaurants in Rovinj offered their food by photos rather than menu. He suggested that these were not typical of good Croatian food - he may have been right as, apart from the excellent Puntalina restaurant behind the church, we didn't find any where not under Maistra control that served good food. The Eden was reminiscent of the Communist-era dogma palaces - where comrades met in vast black marble halls to discuss 5 year plans in party conferences. It is trying to cover up that impression but the entrance hall/bar/lounge is not a friendly space. So we came home with memories - mainly of wonderful staff everywhere really keen to make our holiday experience go well, always cheerful, greeting in a myriad of languages (although German is the dominant voice heard). If the food were much, much better and Rovinj town were not filled with rubbish shops we could have put up with the weather. If it had been hot and sunny we might not have noticed how feeble the "offer" is. But feeble was revealed.

Visited this hotel with the whole family. Everything was up to standards, just rooms were a bit oldish, although they were announcing renovation in 2017. Rich buffet breakfast and dinner, friendly staff, modern gym and OK pool facilities. Nice park in the front connected with Lone and Monte Moulini down to Moulini beach. For upscale dessert we went to Lone, kids stayed at kids club at Lone, so good connection with other upscale facilities. Value for money...
