I absolutely loved this hotel and am so glad I chose it for my first trip to Istanbul! The location was perfect--a short walk to the metro one way and Taksim Square (more public transportation) the other way. One review I read on another travel website said they thought the area was sketchy, but as a single female staying there for 4 nights, I felt completely safe going back to the hotel at night. The staff was wonderful and very friendly...the only negative (and a very small one) is that I asked one of them how to Kadikoy (on the Asian side), and the advice he gave me was not as good as what I had found on a travel website (I thought he might know better since he was a local), so I did not follow his instructions. Again, a *very* small negative. One thing I really appreciated is that I couldn't figure out how to get the shower head to stay at an angle to have a nice American style shower, so I wedged a washcloth between the wall and the cord to try to get the water to angle out more instead of going straight down. The staff who cleaned my room must have realized what I was trying to do, because when I returned to my room at the end of the day, the shower head had been tightened! I was so thankful for that!! The breakfast included was a nice touch, and plentiful. I think some people have complained about it, but we're in Turkey at a Turkish boutique hotel, so it's going to be a Turkish breakfast. If you don't prefer that, you can always go to McDonald's or Burger King for something that's more familiar to you, if you're American. I hope to return to Istanbul, and if I do, I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel is a in beautifully reconditioned building. Great bedding and amenities, including walkin rain shower. Great breakfasts. Taxi can't stop in front, so getting in and out a little difficult, but hotel sends staff to help.
