Excellent location and welcoming, friendly staff. I can’t thank Emily and the team for making our stay memorable. Seclusion and privacy assured on an island paradise, relaxed and intimate, we didn’t see any other guests. We will return!
Beautiful gardens, quiet and peaceful. Fantastic beach and friendly staff. The houses are charming and instantly relaxing. Big thank you to Lindsey and the rest of the team who really went out of their way to make it an unforgettable trip.
Me and my husband stayed at the Moorings last week. We came all over from Brazil just to spent some vacation time at it. This time, we choose the Maroni Villa and seriously, this place is just like heaven on earth. The villa was beautiful, had an amazing beach/sea view and it is perfect for a couple looking for some romance and spending some time alone. The hotel itself, its’s spectacular! We took tons of pictures because anywhere you look at, deserve a photo to stay in the memory (and lots likes on the social medias!). The staff is nice and kind, the nature that surrounds the hotel is amazing and beautifully disposed. But the best part of staying at this hotel was a boat trip that they offered for us. Our captain, Xavier, is a super nice and lovely gentleman. He took us to do some snorkerkling and fishing. We have catch 3 fishes, that later he cleaned for us so we could take to a restaurant to prepare it and it was freshly delicious. Xavier provided us with lots of learnings and informations about Islamorada and fishes. He is a real gem, such a nice and honest man! And going offshore and seeing all that marine wildlife was an unforgettable experience! We spent all day at the beach, at the pool. Or laying on the hammocks for hours or just seated at the porch not believing how we were extremely blessed to know this place. It all felt like a dream. I do not remember feeling so happy and relaxed in my life. I left already wanting to come back. Hope to see you soon, Moorings Village!
This place is worth every penny. My sister and I stayed there last week. It is a beautifully maintained property with lush landscaping and brilliant amenities. They pump cool water into the saltwater pool, which is where I spent most of my time. If we happened to run into other guests—which was rare—we found they were pleasant, relaxed, and very happy to be there. The staff was wonderful—when we wanted to take a bike ride and noticed low air in the tires, they acted immediately. Seriously, I can’t fully explain what a delightful and relaxing experience we had at the Moorings. The chief amenity here is low key relaxation in a stunning setting.
Islamorada is one of the more quieter islands of the keys and I must applaud the moorings for an absolutely stunning location! When we first arrived I was a little surprised when the staff said it was only for two people when we were three since the cottages are so big. However this issue was quickly fixed. The whole hotel area feels like a much quieter version of a resort. There is a large pool in the middle of the complex. Close to the pool there is a massive tennis court and a kayak and sailing rental area for guests of the hotel. I also would love to recommend the beach cafe on their sister hotel. The food is delicious and a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Overall a great experience, thank you Moorings Village!
We were a group of 5 friends, one of us stayed there before and he was telling us the place was great and we should go soon, he said let’s have a quick visit to convince us and a really rude security men came to kick us out in really bad manners. We try to explain him the situation and he was even more rude and ask us to leave immediately, so we will make sure to not go and to tell people how rude they are!
So some of us have been here...you've had to ignore the one you love, working nights, weekends and national holidays. You finally get to a point where this is all too much for both of you and decide to get away. This is the place to do it...some of the most beautiful grounds I have seen in a while, hammocks under the palm trees, a beautiful pool with a view of blue ocean and gently lapping waves. If you are staying in a cottage and pick up supplies on the way in, you might only have to see a few people while you are here. This is for the couple who truly does not care whether there is a night life or whatever; there are plenty of places to eat and things to do during the day in the area, but if you want to reconnect this is the place.
Let me tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in the Eyster Villa... Having an extremely stressful/busy career, I usually look for a destination to disconnect and recharge. My wife and I have stayed next door at Cheeca. Most recently a few years ago. One night a couple spoke of The Moorings and we were definitely intrigued. A hurricane thwarted our intended stay the following year and work/conventions had us elsewhere last year. Finally we made it back to Islamorada and our first stay at The Moorings. The Eyster is a beautiful private villa with perfect landscaping around every turn. It's what I appreciate the most as I spend most of my days within the four walls of an office. My dream is to retire and hire The Moorings groundskeeper! We loved everything! The villa layout is top notch and the color palette is super soothing. Much more rejuvenating than any lodge/bungalow/spa. I am amazed. We are amazed. Felt like Oligarchs! Thank you for all you do and we shall return. We have to return. After all, it is heaven on earth!
If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Florida Keys, then this is THE place to stay! Conveniently located in the heart of Islamorada, the grounds and beach make you feel as if you’re at your own private retreat. Top notch service and accommodations! Can’t wait to go back!
We stopped here on our way back to Key West from a College Tour at the "U". I was looking for a half-way point to meet our daughter if she ends up at the U for college and we end up in Key West for the winter. This property is beautiful! It looks just like the scenes from Bloodline! Instead of calling them bungalows (like Cissy Spacek does), they're called "cottages". I feel like we'll be spending a few nights here either before or after check-in at our Key West place during the winters. We ate dinner across the street at Pierre's and it couldn't have been any better! Superb!
