Novotel Grenoble Nord Voreppe4.0 out of 5.0

We booked a family room for 5, but we ended up having to pay for 2 rooms even though our youngest child sleeps in a blow up toddler bed. The rooms were clean but very warm even with the air conditioning set to cold. There is lots of parking. We didn't eat in the restaurant as when we arrived there was a family complaining about waiting over an hour for their food. The only swimming pool is outdoors and it's small. The games room consists of a small room with some soft play items, or a single computer and an interactive screen with games, for the older children in the reception. The breakfast cost €16 per adult, and was a complete rip-off. There was very little choice. Just some cereal, pastries, sausage and eggs to boil yourself. We were continuously waiting for food, and crockery to be replaced. This hotel is fine for a single overnight stay but the description online is very misleading. Don't get too excited about the facilities as it's very disappointing.
Hotel is surrounded by mountains, calm location with parking outside. There is a restaurant and an outside swimming pool. The room -335-was well sized and clean, although the decor and public areas looked tired. Staff helped us with extra pillows for the room and also towels for using the swimming pool. We had a view of sunflower fields and mountains, which was relaxing after our long journey. We ate in the hotel in the evening as wanted to leave the car alone for a few hours! Slept well, and breakfast was hearty, we liked the range of items from bread and croissants to egg and bacon, fruit salad and yogurt. Walked around the grounds in the early morning and saw some lovely roses which smelled great. There is also a table tennis table outside if you so wish!
Great value for money if you are travelling with 2 kids under the age of 12. Standard but varied breakfast buffet. Dinner could be less junk food oriented and include healthier options. Room standard, clean and well payed out, outdoor facilities including pool above average for essentially a motorway stopover hotel.
I stayed here on a Saturday after spending the afternoon and evening in Grenoble and before traveling on to Lyon. My plan was also to relax in the pool but that turned out not to be possible because of the grey weather. The pool is not that big so if you have kids jumping in and out parents relax in the sun. In my room I had a twin bed which was nice and comfortable and the room was big, would have been very comfortable in two. The room had a few unpleasant surprises that didn't make the place too pleasant. As shown in the pictures I posted, the toilet was in a little room separate from the bathroom that looked like a boxroom, some details were not as they should have been like little broken things, the water got stuck in the sink and would take a while to go down, the bathtub had a pattern on the base that looked like an anti-slip surface but was only a useless drawing. Personnel was normally friendly so nothing to say, waitresses working during breakfast were actually very nice and regarding the breakfast I must say it was very nice, I really liked the waffles and thin pancakes to warm up and have with honey, different jams or maple syrup. The hotel is in the middle of nothing so it takes you 20 min drive to get to the centre of Grenoble but that was ok, I had already considered it. So it was just the little details mentioned above that spoiled the stay, probably I would choose a different place next time.
We wanted to avoid the busy A6 motorway on way back home from the Cote d'Azur so we drove via Grenoble. The Novotel at Voreppe has a quiet locationjust of the highway so it's easy to find. Also it looks quite old from the outside the lobby looks new. The rooms are also slightly outdated but are in perfect working order. The outdoor pool was a huge hit with our children. Both dinner and breakfast were of good quality. I would certainly recommend this hotel as an alternative to the busy A6 highway.
I was going to visit a nearby village (Moirans) and stayed here because I’m Accor Favourite Guest customer. The hotel is just a Novotel with some years that need to be refreshed. The views are fantastique to the mountains and still some snow could be seen. A little bit far from Grenoble but definitely a nice place to stay if you want relax and need to go north Grenoble.
There are so many other better options you would not choose this hotel. I was fooled into booking online because there was a pool. Open seasonally....on May 27 with 30 degrees this is not "the season" - apparently the pool opens June 1. So why not state this on the website instead of seasonal. On the hotel door it says pool open May to September! Just not good enough. Room was not made up for three, not enough towels and those terrible toiletries - not to mention toilet roll direct from the public toilet supplier...and the room has useless air con for a 30 degree day. Breakfast was okay actually with outdoor seating. Would never return and would advise others never to come.
Acension weekend with 26-28 degrees and no pool! Even the information on the back of the door of the very outdated room states pool open May to September but the woman at the desk says it's seasonal so this was all wrong. The air conditioning didn't work in the room so we were very hot and uncomfortable. Very disappointing stay and won't come back.
Perfect location close to highway makes this hotel a good choice for a one-night stay when traveling to the South of France or the Alps. Rooms on first floor are up to renovation. Rooms on the second floor are newer and nicer. Airco was weak and made a lot of noise. Nice and friendly personnel. Good breakfast options.
This is a modern hotel set in the business area of Grenoble. It is a few minutes’ walk to the Railway and Coach station. It is fairly standard in its layout with a comfortable room (a mirror and larger bedside shelves would have been useful). There is a good, spacious bathroom and shower. On the ground floor is the Reception desk and restaurant and bar. The service in the bar was very poor so I’d suggest having a drink in the nearby town centre. It is a great place to stay if you are travelling on public transport.
