Novotel Grenoble Nord Voreppe4.0 out of 5.0

I was going to visit a nearby village (Moirans) and stayed here because I’m Accor Favourite Guest customer. The hotel is just a Novotel with some years that need to be refreshed. The views are fantastique to the mountains and still some snow could be seen. A little bit far from Grenoble but definitely a nice place to stay if you want relax and need to go north Grenoble.
There are so many other better options you would not choose this hotel. I was fooled into booking online because there was a pool. Open seasonally....on May 27 with 30 degrees this is not "the season" - apparently the pool opens June 1. So why not state this on the website instead of seasonal. On the hotel door it says pool open May to September! Just not good enough. Room was not made up for three, not enough towels and those terrible toiletries - not to mention toilet roll direct from the public toilet supplier...and the room has useless air con for a 30 degree day. Breakfast was okay actually with outdoor seating. Would never return and would advise others never to come.
Acension weekend with 26-28 degrees and no pool! Even the information on the back of the door of the very outdated room states pool open May to September but the woman at the desk says it's seasonal so this was all wrong. The air conditioning didn't work in the room so we were very hot and uncomfortable. Very disappointing stay and won't come back.
Perfect location close to highway makes this hotel a good choice for a one-night stay when traveling to the South of France or the Alps. Rooms on first floor are up to renovation. Rooms on the second floor are newer and nicer. Airco was weak and made a lot of noise. Nice and friendly personnel. Good breakfast options.
This is a modern hotel set in the business area of Grenoble. It is a few minutes’ walk to the Railway and Coach station. It is fairly standard in its layout with a comfortable room (a mirror and larger bedside shelves would have been useful). There is a good, spacious bathroom and shower. On the ground floor is the Reception desk and restaurant and bar. The service in the bar was very poor so I’d suggest having a drink in the nearby town centre. It is a great place to stay if you are travelling on public transport.
The hotel looks a bit dated. We had to switch rooms twice: first because tge given room type was not correct, then because there was a wasp in the room. The breakfast is good though, and staff was friendly
Great spot to stop if having into the French Alps. Get up early and you can be in the slopes 1st thing. Needs a little updating. Reception staff helpful. Opened bar a midnight for us as we wanted a night cap. Breakfast good. Would definitely use again.
The reception was warm and welcoming and very efficient and the gentleman took the time to explain all of the hotel amenities and that if we wanted to go downtown we would need a taxi and it would 10 - 15 minutes. As it was late and raining I went to their restaurant where the food was fantastic (highly recommend the chicken and mashed potatoes). Later in the night had a couple of drinks at the lounge bar which felt very friendly and warm with a good selection of drinks. Next day we took a taxi which cost 44 Euro's (wow !!) but nighttime when we came back it cost 71 Euro's (wow wow !!!) and it seems at night the credit card payment machines in the taxi's all "stop working" so you will need a lot of cash. If you are staying for business then it is a perfect hotel but as a toursit, if you do not have your own transport, it could become very costly.
The staff were very helpful staff. The restaurant was very good with helpful staff. The room was both clean quiet and comfortable The bed was very comfortable and wide enough for two adults. There was a nice view from the room over the nearby mountains. Hotel is close to the motorway exit and access is easy with enclosed parking
The hotel has a nice feel to it and the views are beautiful. We were traveling back from Italy and wanted a good not too expensive meal in the restaurant. The food was good value. The bedroom was comfortable.
