The hotel is super well located right behind the train station. It is also right beside the Chamber of Commerce and Grenoble Business School (Grenoble École de Management). This hotel is perfect for those who are on as business trip, will visit the management school, participate on a school event, or only visit Grenoble. Its breakfast is delicious and complete. The hotel is modern, spacious, clean, great service, and they speak several languages.
Small hotel but part of the business complex and next to train station. Few nice restaurants nearby to have lunch or dinner. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast is great with make your own eggs( my favorite) and pastry, cheese, fruit etc. Room seemed to be smaller than other chain.
Hair drier was not working and no replacement was offered, just said to reset it many times (useless). I had to sleep with a towel on my head in an air conditioned room that I switched off. Bad experience, low value for money. car park 14 euro a night in an ordinary tight level -1 garage. breakfast very basic
Been almost a decade since my last visit… Much improvement since then! Great: Clean functional room, Walking distance to train / bus station, Selection of tea at breakfast Ok: Cafe/restaurant at lobby (decor is nice though, cozy feel), Breakfast spread is limited, pans provided for you to do your own frying of eggs! Check in / out service is definitely an improvement since last visit, polite and efficient Note: Bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, body lotion and bedroom slippers, these are not provided. No sanitary disposal bags provided…
Stopover due to early train from Grenoble. 2 min walk from train station so very convenient. Room a good size with good bed with slightly odd memory-foam (?) style mattress. A well-used modern chain hotel and slightly grubby in parts (stained carpets etc). Room (in back) was quiet. Would use again for this reason and due to convenience and good value.
I'm 6'4" and have become accustomed to staying at hotels where the fixed showers spray my shoulders. I was pleasantly surprised that the showers here were adjustable and could easily accommodate my height. It's a small thing but made a big difference. The location is next to transit (right next to the TGV train station as well as the 'Palais de Justice' tram stop). The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, the window had a good view of the Chartreuse, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This was an excellent place to stay for a week on business. WiFi signal was strong and speed was ok - no troubles for what I needed. I ate at the breakfast buffet the first morning and it was good (and convenient if you're in a hurry), but seems quite pricey at just under 17(?) EUR. I found it much more cost effective to walk around and find some fresh croissants (e.g. 6 for 3 EUR at Sesame) and eclairs for breakfast. Parking was very secure (garage doors to get both in and out).
Novotel Hotel in Grenoble, France is centrally located for easy access to all public transportation services. The hotel facilities are clean and services are good. I however hated the idea of guests frying their own eggs into those sticky frying pans. I never tried frying any eggs because I witnessed many guests being frustrated.
I stayed in this hotel on an overnight journey to the skiing slopes. I had booked it over the phone, and there was a big problem. Although I had specifically asked for a Novotel in Grenoble, they had booked me the Novotel in Voreppe which is called "Grenoble Nord". This is 15 km North of Grenoble. Luckily i realized the mistake after I saw a picture of an outside pool in a park.... Anyway, the mistake was rectified and we spent 1 night in Grenoble. The room was OK, although I slept on the sofa bed and this was not very comfortable. The breakfast was really nothing special. No fresh orange juice for instance. The entrance of the garage is a bit difficult to find, since the underground garage is huge. But once we found it it was very convenient as we could park right under the lobby.
If you need to be near the GEM/GGSB business school, chamber of commerce, GEANT or the train station, and want comfort at a decent price, stay here. There are a few other places nearby, much cheaper, but they are awful, lacking any charm or ambiance whatsoever. The Novotel is simple, but you start and finish each day in a good mood there. Good Wifi (you won't get that at the HiPark nearby). Great breakfast. Good desk in the room. Very comfortable bed (again, something you won't find at the two establishments around the corner).
Stayed one night on business in March. Central location is excellent. Check-in was OK, but a little slow. My room was good - very clean and everything worked well. One of our party was checked into a room which was already occupied - there was no big problem, (but it could have been embarrassing), and it was quickly remedied. We ate a late dinner in the restaurant, which was pretty average, and the service was rather slow & unenthusiastic. Breakfast was also "OK" but not the extensive buffet that Novotel provided in the past. Nothing to really complain about, but it did not seem very good value.
