We stayed 11 nights half Board, hotel was excellent, spotlessly clean, staff were brilliant, couldn't enough for you. Evening meal were superb, fine dinning every night, have to mention our waiter Gaetano who made it extra special, what a star. Location was perfect,we would definitely recommend this hotel, come and enjoy.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Il Moresco Hotel. The staff are unbelievably friendly and kind. The dining room is a joy to enter - the maitre Franco and Salvatore plus the staff attend to all your needs. If the menu is not to your liking, they make sure you can choose an alternative to suit your taste. The piano bar manager Salvatore ensures all the Clients are specially cared for in every way. Salvatore and his assistant Carmen make a better Manhattan cocktail than you get in New York. Simply spectacular ! The swimming pool area is surrounded by beautiful gardens and shrubs, and is superbly maintained by head gardener Francisco. All in all, the service and attention to detail is second to none, a genuinely 5 star hotel at the top of the list.
Just spent five days in this beautiful hotel. What I would call old school charm with old school waiters. Beautifully attired, gracious with excellent waiting skills. The reception staff were lovely and so helpful (especially Pietro) I was only B&B but ate in the hotel restruant one evening. The food was lovely. The swimming pool and surrounding area was beautifully kept and as clean as the rest of the hotel. I only have one gripe and that is no tea/coffee available in the room. I asked for two cups of tea to be sent up and was charged 8 Euros which is ridiculously expensive. Otherwise, faultless.
After an excellent stay in Alghero last year, we were looking for something of an equally high standard. Our good friends and neighbours, who have stayed at Il Moresco several times, gave us a strong recommendation. How right they were! Il Moresco has an air of calm tranquility, an enviable location 'twixt Porto and Ponte, unfailingly helpful (and smiley) reception desk staff, waiters and lifeguards, beautiful rooms (our Junior Suite was outstanding), a choice of geothermally heated pools at different temperatures, a small but comfortable beach area, and a superb breakfast. In particular, Pietro was extremely helpful in recommending trips and restaurants, seemed to remember the names of every guest and which rooms they were occupying. Outstanding! We will undoubtedly return to this oasis of calm!
Perfect location: 1 minute walk to the city centre's shops and 1 minute away from the lovely small private beach (actually a terrace with umbrellas, sun beds and access to the sea) with a great view over the Aragonese Castle. Dont' miss a visit to the castle. It has spectacular views over the bay and the island and interesting ruins. I've been to Ischia many times and this hotel has proved to be my favourite spot. Beautiful spacious rooms, not overly opulent but decored with simple old time Mediterranean elegance. Cosy garden with swimming pool.
We last visited in 2011 and not a lot has changed, as far as I could see some new sun loungers that is about it, a lot of the staff are still the same. Would recommend a superior room if possible. Food was great and the restaurant is run like a military operation, quite fascinating to experience. The drinks service around the bar and pool was very good plus at the nearby bathing platform although this time we only visited once preferring the hotel pool and thermally heated grotto.
This is our second visit to this hotel. My mother, my daughter and myself visited about two years ago and this time, we came back in full force with husbands and remaining children. The closest airport is Naples and then you need to get on a ferry to the Island of Ischia. Upon request, the hotel organised our transfer to the hotel from Naples Airport. In total, this takes about 2 hours, but the hotel organise everything, including the tickets for the ferry, times and unloading of the bags on the other side. You just need to be on hand to identify your luggage when it is loaded and unloaded. Although this long transfer may seem daunting at first, it is really painless. Although this year the hotel was a little fuller and the service a little slower, the service is always with a sincere smile and nothing too much trouble. If I had to distinguish a feature that sets this hotel apart from the other 5 star hotels, I would say that it has to be the service. The hotel has a very good SPA, with an exceptional physiotherapist and a number of equally brilliant therapists, as well as a Doctor present for consultations. It also boasts 3 pools with thermal water at different temperatures. Throughout the hotel, there is an air of calm and peace... oh and there appear to be no one "bagging seats" by putting their towels on sun chairs and leaving. Last time we came, we did not use the beach area (a smallish area of decking, some with sand), but the younger members enjoyed it this time. We had comfort rooms, which are cheerful and of a good size. the superior rooms have a small sitting area too. Both have a balcony. Hope you enjoy it! 10 days are perfect and leave you thoroughly relaxed.
After an absence of 10 years since our last stay, we were nervous that the hotel would not be as good as remembered. We needn't have worried! Lots of old faces and the same excellent service. The dinners were superb and there is really no reason to go elsewhere. We loved it!
I have just returned from a two week holiday at this fabulous hotel - after a very stressful year I was looking for a location where I could fully recharge myself and this fitted the bill perfectly. The hotel is in a perfect position, set between Ischia port and Ischia Ponte both of which are within walking distance - a 15 to 20 minute walk to each place depending on your pace, and shops and bars are five minutes away. The hotel consists of 70 rooms so it never felt overcrowded and when going to the pool to relax in the sun there was never an issue in finding the perfect position to do so. Only a few of the guests placed towels on beds only to disappear for a period of time, so this unpleasant behaviour was certainly not the norm. The main pool was often empty during the day so plenty of room to have a swim and it was set at a very pleasant temperature, and the grotto pool was lovely and warm. The bathing platform by the sea was a short walk from the hotel entrance along a quiet road and allowed wonderful views of the castle and the bay of Naples. The breakfast afforded plenty of food and caters for all tastes ranging from bacon and eggs, to cereals, to fresh fruit, to wonderful cakes - easily enough food consumed to last me through to the evening. The evening meal was the best I have experienced at any hotel - a wonderful buffet, followed by two courses consisting of extensive choices and fruit and delicious cakes for dessert. The food besides tasting absolutely delicious was presented in such a beautiful way by a very attentive staff who were also always around to refill your wine glass if need be and who made any guest feel rather special. My room was very spacious and clean and towels both for the room and for the pool were changed on a daily basis by staff always present with a smile on their faces. I left the hotel wising I could have stayed longer - usually after two weeks I am ready to come home but in this instance this was certainly not the case. If you are looking for a superior hotel on a beautiful island this is the place for you.
The Moresco is truly majestic! Located in a quiet and very pretty street leading to the seaside, the hotel Surrounded by a set of different pools and a beautifully kept garden the hotel makes justice to the pictures seen on the website. It was my first in Ischia and I decided to go for a place established and close to Ischia Porto where is one of the main parts of the island. The team is amazing and Pietro at Reception is always keen to help and give you special tips and make your visit much easier. The hotel has a great Spa and It attracts the senior clients who are predominant at the hotel. One of the down sides was during dinner i felt rushed into my dinner and was unable to get a coffee being told to go to the bar! The waiters were polite and professional, but i felt they were rushing to get the service finished and ready for next morning! The hotel definitely caters for a mature clientele and is very peaceful and a perfect spot for relaxation. It has a private beach with easy access. Overall a wonderful stay!
