The pool and hot tub are always down whenever I go there that ive just officially banned this place . The bed was good though. I won't be going back . I didn't eat the breakfast . They need to maintain their hotel but apparently they don't care enough to maintain their pool room. So not worth it
The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast room was well-provisioned. I was satisfied with the hotel's offerings except that my plans changed and I had to leave a day early; the manage, Mr. Netto, said he couldn't; refund my already-paid fee, and gave me the name of the people to call--but those people didn't know anything about my case.
One of the consistent issues in the pet-friendly room is the age of the Heating/AC Unit which day is about due for replacement. It’s noisy and spews dust. My sinuses always flare. I’m grateful they have pet accommodations, however.
From the outside the hotel looks a little older but inside is up to date. The hotel was clean and rooms comfortable. Breakfast was a step up from normal toast and bagels. Several hot items were available. It is on the out skirts of town with a Subway next door other wise you have to drive a little to fino a restaurant bus that's minor
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Super 8 in Iron Mountain. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms and facility were clean and quiet. Everything worked properly, and the price was very reasonable for the area. Hotels in Michigan's UP are usually overpriced, and if you find a cheap room it is probably not where you ought to stay. I recommend the Iron Mountain Super 8.
As a Platinum member, I have never stayed at a more disgusting hotel in my career. The room was dirty and had a smell that I can't even describe. Before check-in I asked if the pool was operational and I was told yes. The hot tub was ambient temperature and the pool was cold, after seeing the sign that says "Heated Pool". I did not get the room I reserved through the Wyndham Rewards website. At check-in, they gave me a different room. The internet worked off and on throughout my stay, cutting me off of work related activities. I will never stay here again and can't believe this hotel is associated with Wyndham. As a long member of the Wyndham Rewards, I can't believe I spent earned points to stay at this hotel. Only a refund of points would satisfy this Platinum member.
Property is not well maintained. Beds are old and springy. Worn out pillows. Drywall peeling in room and bathroom. Peeling linoleum floor in bathroom. Rude night auditor. The guy was also lazy, didn't have fresh coffee ready in the morning, acted like it was an inconvenience to wake himself up to make it. To the owner, this guy will kill your business with his lack of hospitality. They have signs posted that say you can't take any food or drink back to your room and that it must all be consumed in the breakfast area. Really??? Maybe so the bugs don't have anything to feed off of. Never came across this before anywhere I've stayed. I was ready to get out of there as fast as I could the next day. Glad it was for only one night, but will never stay there again. The prices they charge do not even reflect the conditions of the property. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the lady at the front desk that checked us in was friendly along with the housekeepers and the shower had a strong flow of water.
Very happy with our stay here in Iron Mountain, the staff at Super 8 have been the most accommodating, helpful and absolutely pleasant to speak with. The room was great, large and very comfortable. We had a great time driving to various waterfalls and historical sites. We learned something's that we never knew, the Ford factory and building of the Glider's and continued support after the war.
There is not nearly enough space here to allow me to tell the full saga (it was a doozie - and almost unbelievable too - but it actually happened!!) regarding my recent one-night stay at the Iron Mountain, MI Super 8 hotel. But, stripped to its essence, my single biggest complaint relates to the extreme rudeness and general incompetence of the front desk staff at this facility. If one of the rating choices was "I'll NEVER, EVER STAY IN THIS FACILITY AGAIN, I would have selected that rating. However, "terrible" is as low as I can go...so that's what I chose. I am in the process of writing a highly detailed letter describing my horrible experience at this Super 8 that I will send to the corporate Super 8 office very soon. I'll be sure to include my full name and contact info in that detailed letter too. Hopefully, someone at a higher organizational level will intercede and get things straightened out at this facility sometime soon. While the Iron Mountain Super 8 is an older facility that is in need of some basic maintenance (plus numerous repairs & upgrades), it is tolerable for a 1-2 night stay...but nothing longer. This assumes you can deal with (or tolerate) the horrible front desk staff. Be advised that this hotel does not have an elevator...so if you get stuck on the second floor (as I did)...and if you can't negotiate steep & long stairs...then you might want to consider someplace else.
Okay. Let's start with a bit of false advertising: there's no business center here. A business center implies a printer or, at the very least, a working computer, none of which are possessed here. Next up, the general manager makes the most bizarre, flagrant demonstration of his religious views by way of bright LED rotating billboard images. Your money is going to pay the massive electric bill so the GM can proselytize. I don't know how you can possibly think that's appropriate. Are the Four Horsemen going to make the business center work, my rates more affordable, the breakfast taste better, or my room cleaner? If not, then it had no business on a business display. The entire rest of the staff at this location were wonderful. It's a shame an interaction with the GM about possibly rebooking for another evening left me feeling as though I might be getting cheated the next night, and I chose to head to Green Bay that day instead. They could spend some of that billboard money on new key cards, which were highly worn and took multiple swipes to get into my room. And the toothpaste packet they provided when I asked was expired (seriously!) and needed scissors to open. Anyway. So now you know. Would not return.
