Walked into the restaurant to see if table available for later that evening, waited patiently whilst lady on reception finished with previous client then asked question. She asked if we were staying at the campanile and then when stated no, very kurtly told they were full and turned away - how rude We had a lovely meal at a creperie down the road towards town so all not lost
I usually love staying at Campanile, as it's cheap but still nice and clean and spacey, and always has tea, but this time the room wasn't as clean as usual (a small stain on the bedsheets) and my nan who is disabled complained of the incredibly slippery floor tiles in her disabled bathroom (she did however praise them for having a wet room, as she can't get into baths or showers). Other than that there were no problems! Staff friendly and helpful, and hotel right across the road from McDonalds!
Spent a night here en-route home to the UK. I love how each room has it's own little front door. It has air conditioning which was wonderful. Kettle, tea, coffee. Clean. Shutters on the windows. Not really sure what else someone wants for a cheap comfy stay? There's a nearby supermarket for morning croissants if you don't want the buffet breakfast? Which is what we did. All in all a pleasant stay. Would stay here again.
Rapid access to St Malo and other places. The rooms are too small and only with twin beds. They stop serving breakfast after 9 am which is too early when you are on vacation. 9:30 would have been acceptable but not 9 am! Overall, expensive for what you get.
On our arrival we found no one in the reception there was a large coach party eating in the restaurant which is in the same place as the reception, I waited for about five minutes before someone came to the desk only to be told they could not help but would go and find someone I had to wait for another five minutes, a person came and registered me and gave me a key I was not asked to pay which is not normal. The room was very disappointing as it had a very stale smell and found the carpet to be very dirty, the bed linen and towels etc were good. The following morning I went to pay the bill and surprise surprise no one at reception, I waited again for about ten minutes I was thinking about going with out paying but eventually someone came no apology was given or did I have a comfortable night, I just payed the bill which was expensive for what I had, I will not be staying there again.
Stayed here for 2 nights before a ferry crossing back to the UK. Great, clean and tidy hotel. Great location. Great value for money. Free Wifi. Secure parking. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if I needed something in the area.
An Excellent Hotel about 5 Mins from Ferry Port of St Malo. Our first visit, we shall stay again! Room spotless, lots of Power Points. Food was excellent. Not much choice on Buffet. Lots of Parking. The is a village to walk around, very close to Hotel.
I like the Campanile group of hotels - they are not pretentious, just good value, clean and comfortable. The restaurants are similar good value and choice. I particularly like the secure parking areas especially as the car is loaded with clothes etc.
When looking for a night stop before catching the ferry, St Malo has so many hotels it is difficult to choose if you don't know any of them. I liked this one because it was fairly close to the port had secure parking and had a restaurant. My room was very good with a comfortable bed and good quality linen. The bathroom looked newly re-furbished with a shower screen round the bath, so many only have a curtain, ugh, and a luxurious choice of shower heads, better than mine at home and fluffy towels. The restaurant had also been given an update and my meal was perfectly cooked and presented, and the house wine was very pleasant. The staff were helpful and friendly, in fact I hadn't realized I had dropped my credit card in the car park until I received an email from them when I got home telling me and offering to send it back to me. If there was anything to have a moan about it was that the walls were a bit thin and I could hear the people walking about overhead but even that was a minor problem.
We stopped here the night before our ferry back home to the UK. It was an ideal stopover -- clean, comfortable and close to the port. There's a restaurant on site which serves a good evening meal and an excellent breakfast. I would certainly stay here again.
