Ok, this is not a place you want to stay at if you want to explore the city but you should have notice that before you book there - there's a map. Apart from that it's an excellent place, very well oraginised with all the facilities you need for a good stay - nice and cozy room, good bed, clean, kitchen corner, parking area. You need a car if you stay there - I picked it up cause I took a cooking class in the nearby cooking school - 200 meters from there, it can be also a good stopover. I would stay there again if I travel for the same purpose or need a stopover without going to the center.
It is already the third day without Internet. I am a student and I depend a lot on the electronic resources of my School library. It's exam period and already 3 days I have no access to electronic library of my university. For the money I pay per month, I would expect fulfillment of at least contractual obligations, since I am doing my part. I keep being told they cannot get the provider to come and check the situation at the residency because it is holiday period. *Does it mean Internet will appear in the New Year only? *Does it mean there is no other IT specialist in Rennes to find out the cause of the problem? *Why on earth I should suffer so many days without Internet, if I am paying for it? *Why there's no backup plan for situations like this? *Why is everyone so relaxed? *How am I going to be compensated if I fail my exams?
We stayed for just one night whilst touring Northern France. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet but the light in the kitchenette didn't work although the wall light in the living/bed room gave just enough light to see. There was no plug in the kitchenette sink and so had to wash up in the bathroom sink, one other light in the living/bed room didn't work. The clip on the shower rail was broken and so you had to hold the shower head to wash. However we didn't pay much for our stay and if the small problems were attended to it would get a higher rating.
I have never written any reviews before, but I do not want other people to deal with this hellhole. I used to live in this appart hotel for almost a year as I've been studying in the university not far from this place. What can I say. The level of service is absolute zero! I came back home for a couple of times and couldn't open the door. Everyone left already and I was all alone in the middle of the night without an access to my room (they have these electric keys, which can just stop working once. I guess they are not supposed to be used for a long time). When I came to the receptionist the next day she never apologized to me and was quite rude, what is absolutely inappropriate in a situation like this. Moreover these unqualified managers took more then 600 euro from my credit card as a deposit and now 7 month(!!!!!) passed already and I still did not get my money back!! AND they just sometimes ignore my e-mails, which is even more annoying. Also forgot about one more thing, I used to order a room cleaning service and I it was not done in time. I mean NEVER EVER done in time. And what they said was: "You are a student and if our stuff does not have enough time they will clean rooms of all other people first, and may be yours just after that, may be another day, or a day after that". So it turned out that I am not a client, whos room deserves to be cleaned?(just wanna mark that I pay for the cleaning with the extra money) Do not forget that NOONE works there on Sundays. No one will regiater you or give you they key, you will have to deal with a stupid safe box, which you have to find first. They do not always send the password so it can turn out that you are in this place without even an access to the safe in the middle of the night and hence without a room(I faced such a man once, poor spanish guy). And just a couple of hours during other days (with a 3 hours lunch break of course). To conclude with I would like to advise you to pick any other place to stay except this one. My mark for this place is absolute zero.
Can't review the hotel, as I didn't get the chance to stay. Due to ferry industrial action, I had to cancel my one night booking, with almost a week's notice. I had hoped the hotel would be flexible on it's no refund policy....but no. Rather than offer me some money back and then be able to rebook the room it has insisted it will charge me. I have to say looking at some of the recent reviews, I have had a narrow escape!
The hotel was very unconfortable, there was no smoke alarm, no safety bars in the bath tub. A very long walk to the nearest store. no map provided by reception to the nearest store. Directions very sketchy. The TV was 30 channels of french tv not one international channel. The rug in the room was dirty not cleanrd in years. The pictures on line are deceiving. i
A dreadful place... No reception staff at 6pm on a Saturday ! After driving for 9 hours with my two children we had great difficulty actually getting in. I had to translate a long French notice, make a difficult and expensive phone call , ( press 2 for this press 6 for.... etc etc !!) All this, just to access a key-box and get to my room. Had my cellphone not worked in France I would have probably still been waiting outside the hotel now. Only one towel provided for three guests. The room was spacious enough and had a kitchen. However I felt so miffed that they couldn't even provide staff on site I think its well worth avoiding. Although we paid £12 extra for thew third bed... it was just a rollaway "drawer" the sort of thing that rolls under a childs bed. It was not suitable for anybody other than a small child. This hotel is a complete shambles.
The Apart'City Rennes Ouest was a comfortable place to stay, especially with children. There was a pull-out couch, dining, and kitchen area as you walked in, with another bedroom and the bathroom on an upper level. My two-year-old loved having stairs to go up and down! It was quite comfortable and suited our particular needs. The location wasn't ideal. It's kind of out on the edge of new construction, away from restaurants or grocery stores. The front desk was closed when we arrived and we could not get an answer when we tried to call the operator about getting our roomkey. But I happened to catch someone who was just leaving work, and he let us in. That saved us!
