Stayed mid week for work, was good, rooms well appointed, pool and gym also good, meetings etc...its downtown Gong, right near WIN stadium, entertainment centre and beach, short walk to main street with bars etc.... Local bars have mid week specials just ask the staff.
room is well kept and clean, decent pricing service is functional, the staffs were helpful and fast to react wifi speed good enough But what's the highlight is the location, located right next to beautiful beach.
Booked this hotel as it is super close to WIN Entertainment Centre as we were seeing a show there. Very expensive $350 for a balcony room and breakfast. Very nice rooms but getting a bit dated and tired looking. It's still in the 90's. Marks on the paintwork in corridors, stains on the seats in the restaurant and things like that get caught by the eye as you move through the hotel. Staff were great and the breakfast was magnificent. Rooms were quiet and bed was very comfortable. Disappointing that 'Happy Hour" was every night except for Saturday night which is when we were there. I am currently booking a trip through Switzerland, Austria, Norway, England and Thailand is this is more expensive than any hotel in that trip for better than average accommodation. That's the only down point. Good hotel though.
After a long day travelling, I arrived at Sage Hotel at 8pm. The check-in experience was friendly, smiley and polite and I received a nice surprise of an upgraded room with a balcony!! Perfect! The room was spacious, everything worked and a nice and neat bathroom. Whilst the timing did't allow me to get out an about it's clear that the location is close to the beach and right next door to the football stadium. A nice hotel and great location! I look forward to a return visit.
I stayed here last year and was suitably impressed, so when I found myself in Wollongong again there was no reason not to repeat the experience. Got upgraded this time - nice. After a 9-hour drive that day it was lovely to soak in the bath and have a cat nap on the king-size bed (firm, but soft as a cloud), before heading out for dinner with my local friend. The next morning I had a good breakfast downstairs from a reasonable variety of choice. Yeah, I'd do it again.
Great hotel, very modern, with great views from the upper floors over the city and the rugby stadium. Great welcome at check in and helpful information on car parking. Unfortunately didnt use restaurant as we couldnt see anything we fancy. Great swimming pool for relaxing around. Nice place.
Spent two nights, found the staff where helpful and the rooms are of a decent standard for the price. The best thing about the Sage was it's location, very handy all major features in Wollongong. e.g Win Stadium, beaches and short walking to the main CBD.
Arrived late in the afternoon to find most of w'gong booked out! Upgraded to Exec suite, good big room, yummy bed. The sofa and balcony were appreciated but it's a 100% no smoking property. Overlooked win stadium: had a game been on, we would have seen snippets of the action. The chicken take away just down the road does fantastic food (beats their "red" competitor).
Our room was lovely and extremely clean! We were given a disabled room for some reason which was really spacious. The whole hotel suite was completely immaculate upon walking in. Very clean especially the bathroom. The even have a coffee machine with a two coffee pods. I was really impressed. We didn't have much of a view as we were on the 5th floor but you could just see the ocean and Port Kembla in the distance. The pool was quite nice and gym. The breakfast was really nice but a bit overpriced. You have to pay for parking which is $15 a day. A little steep considering how much you pay for a room. Close to restaurants, shops and very central. Overall its a really nice hotel with great facilities.
Checked in and went up to our room to discover it looked like a bomb had hit it. Back down to reception who were very apologetic that the room hadn't been made up and upgraded us to an "executive site". So I guess we were off to a good start? Room was lovely and spacious looking over WIN stadium and out to sea. One detracting feature was the several stains on the carpet (one was quite sticky) which at this price not acceptable. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was nice - my usual complaint about buffet breakfasts not being hot enough applied here too. Another hiccup was that we had purchased a package including breakfast but no record of us where breakfast was being served. Overall a pleasant stay, we did well with the upgrade but some aspects need improving.
