Stayed in this hotel August 2017,in the main building, upper floor, 2 adults, 1 toddler, 1 infant. Pros: Lovely long sandy beach, crystal clear water (no sight of the jelly fish that they had filled the area as they were cleaning them early in the morning), nice water sports, excellent swimming pools, very friendly staff, always willing to help you with a smile, water park real fun. Clean room with magic views.Food, above average quality tasty and in a satisfactory variety. Grecoland employees lovely, caring and always with a smile, never bored to paly with the children and really kind.Hotel has lovely staff overall and this is their strong asset. Cons: First and most important hotel needs a serious facelift, beach needs a beach bar, and swimming pool area better monitoring, as sometimes to order a drink and have it was easily was taking 20-30min. Grecoland premises need massive renovation, especially now in 2018 that all the family oriented hotels all around the world invest in their little clients. In the same topic, tasty corner as a concept is great but parents should have the ability to take a snack pack if they want or have the corner to the pool bar, as going up in the main buffet in the middle of the heat with screaming children is not ideal. This will save you from having extra people to serve and clean the tables. Having breakfast was tricky, you couldn't enjoy the lovely veranda as the bees were attacking you after you were placing your plates with food and inside was crowded and stuffy, of course this was mother nature, not much you can do about it.Another serious issue is how long the dirty plates were staying on the table between courses and after finishing. Sometimes you couldn't find someone to collect them and we had to take them ourselves to the side. I believe this time needs more waitors, it felt a bit understaffed. Cleaning all around the hotel was ok but could have being better. In the room not enought space to hang the towels in the bathroom and waste bin tiny for 4 persons. Spa area was great and bothe the Indian girls gave us the massage were excellent, but the manager very very rude. Seriously you are going there to relax, having someone bossing you around is not ideal. Also the smell of the oils was as they were off. Overall in this holiday we had a good time. Our kids surely had a great time, as they want to go again. With a bit of attention from the management hotel could be really upgraded and be 5 stars again.
We booked a family room with a garden. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a fruit and chocolate platter - the plate was very dirty (stained with dried eggs or what seemed to be the case). The closet smelled mouldy, so we never unpacked, so we lived out of a suitcase the entire stay. The extra beds provided (like divan beds) were also smelling of mould, so our 2.5 year old (at the time) slept in our bed. We were stressed about pool/beach towels. There was this rule about changing every second day. But the place which was available to hang/dry them (which is an excellent idea by the way) was very dirty...so we didn't want to re-use something which was left on a dirty hanger. Not to mention that because it was also humid they couldn't dry anyway. Whenever we asked for room service (which we wanted it to take place only when we were in the room), we had to wait a long time as there was miscommunication between the staff (we were given phone number after phone number, rather than one staff member assuming the responsibility to inform and follow up). BUT, the natural beauty was out of this world. Very clean beaches; calm and warm waters... our child had fun! Also, the water park was a great option which offered additional excitement. In room service, food wise, was really substandard. Breakfast and dinner were ok (we were on a half board basis). The seating was stressful... indoors was too warm and smelling of food.... don't even know if they had aircon on (probably they did). Outdoors the sun was setting which would have been lovely to watch, but it was setting straight into our eyes. Perhaps if we would go to dinner a bit later... which is an option for families with older children. Sleeping was difficult - noise from surrounding rooms. Children events were not so bad, but they were the same every night... it would be good to have had a variety! So children are not bored! Perhaps a bit of a repetition is not bad, but variety would also be good. We would consider going back, if the general cleanliness is improved.
I visited there as part of my work, the place is just perfect. The entrance to the hotel is stunning, there is a terrace that overlooks a wonderful sea view . the hotel is built from private rooms on the ground and is large and wide area. I stayed in a large VIP suite with a private beach exit and everything wad so clean and shiny. The food in the dining room was excellent and varied, the service of the waiters and all the staff was great! .this place is paradise.
We visit this hotel twice already and it was very nice experience they have wonderful beach and bars but the food is not on that five star level Every time we take the package all inclusive And really everything is inclusive except wine from the wine list for the lunch and the dinner They have nice Italian restaurant and Chinese But I’m generally from the morning to the evening the food with all inclusive is not five stars We’re going definitely there for the beach
Everything in this resort is so perfect that you will definitely want to come back over and over again. The landscape is so beautiful, one of the best sandbeaches in Greece. The swimming pools were also so many and so big that you never get bored. You have so many things to do all day... The aqua park is so much fun for chlidren and for adults... There is also a very organised and well equipped gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, football, paintball, horse riding, even archery classes.. You can also have dance lessons, and they have make up and "be a model" lessons for young girls! The staff was so friendly and helpful, like they had known us for years. The food was really excellent. A huge variety of choices in the breakfast and in the dinner, with thematic nights and some highlighted traditional greek dishes. You could find really everything, in good quality and cooked by great chefs.... We spent 10 perfectly relaxing days with our kids this summer... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We will definitely come back!
The property is in general nice and worth the stay. The general shape is good but some broken furniture in the lobby and unstable Wifi are not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. The landscape, pools and beach are georgeous. The food is outstanding with very high quality local ingredients. My compliments to the chefs and with the hotel fully booked they did a great job keeping the level high the whole week of our stay. A bit strange is that 75cl are not kept in store if guests do not drink up. We therefore took the small bottles but would have preferred a better quality only coming in big bottles. We had to park our car out in the street as the hotel has no parking anymore due to the space being used up for the waterpark. It's ok and the water park is a real asset, small but a good standard and free admission for hotel guests. A nice touch was the fruit basket and wine bottle in our room upon arrival.
Just a quick review, we stayed 6 nights at Olympia Riviera Thalasso at the end of August. This resort has so much to offer and is fabulous in so many ways. The beach, the pools, the water park and all the extra facilities that you have access to are amazing and we did enjoy our stay due to all these extras but we had quiet a few issues during our staying that we felt were unacceptable for the money you are paying and they did definitely colour our stay. In brief our 3 main issues were Internet - USELESS to NON existent. If you are dependant on internet for any reason, this is not the hotel for you!! General Maintenance - We had numerous issues with our room (in the Pinewood). Phone beside the bed did not work, bar fridge did not work, plug in sink was broken. These issues were all fixed once we complained but disrupted the whole first day of our holiday. Room also lacked a price list for the mini bar or a room service menu! I'm sorry but this is a 5* resort, i'd expect a little better. General Service - Whilst the front desk were very helpful in regards to all of our issues with our room, we found in general that the service around the resort was poor and very slow. Drinks by the pool or in the upstairs lounge could take up to 20 minutes to be delivered even when these areas were relatively empty. Look it was the little things really, things that you would normally overlook if it was just the odd occasion that you were disappointed. But everyday, in spite of all the good things, we found ourselves feeling disappointed by this resort. I guess maybe because the resort has the potential to be an AMAZING 5* resort but falls way short in my opinion.
Nice view, 2 km sandy beach with shallow kids-friendly waters, mild weather. Decent breakfasts, varied themed dinners in the main restaurant, nice a-la-card alternatives yet limited wine list. Couple of nice places to walk for dinner nearby, namely Amvrosia and RQD Paradise
We have been fortunate enough to have travelled many parts of Europe and stayed in a few resort hotels. This one (Grecotel Olympia Riviera Thalasso) is a must do for couples or families with kids. The 5 star facilities are extraordinary and the beachside excellent on most days ( small waves appear on some days). Overall quality of service of the staff excellent!!!! If you get half or full board you can choose to eat in any of the top restaurants across the entire Grecotel complex which consists of 3 main resorts ( Thalasso, Mandola and Oassis). Highlights and must do if you stay at Thalasso: 1) The beachside massage (head, neck and back!). 2) The Sea Dunes Al a Carte Restaurant at Thalasso ( great quality of food and staff service very professional by global standards). 3) The Cape Voyage gourmet Al Carte restaurant and the innovational approach to Greek cuisine and products.Chef ( a young chap) Yannis Rokanas should be given a Michelin star NOW!! Try the ravioli, the Ekmek sweet and try greek salad and mousaka in a way you have never seen before. This menu can be placed on any star awarded restaurant in New York or Paris. Regarding facilities: Room / suite space appropriate to accommodate comfortably.Beautiful landscape and pools. We were impressed with the size of the labd across which it is all spaced across.HUGE! Great new Water Fun park. BE
