We visited in October 2014 for a week and we were really pleased with this little gem of a hotel. We got a last minute all inclusive deal and were a little bit wary when reading other reviews. I would say go with an open mind. It's a lovely, quiet little resort and if you're looking for a chill out holiday then this is the place! Portinatx is a beautliful place with the most stunning beaches. The water is crystal clear and remains shallow a good distance out. It was quiet when we were there but the weather was lovely and it was a real treat to have the beach pretty much to ourselves. It is a quiet resort so bear that in mind. Not the place to go if you're looking for a party holiday. That said, there are a couple of really nice bars on the walkway around the beach coves. The Voodoo Lounge is a really nice place to sit overlooking the bay with a cold beer or a cocktail. We took an visit to San Antonio and took a boat ride out to watch the sunset which was lovely. It was good to see other parts of the island though the hustle and bustle of San Antonio made me really happy to get back to the peace of Portinatx. The hotel itself surpassed our expectations. The variety of drinks available through the all inclusive was great. For a three star resort the food was fantastic. You could have freshly cooked omelettes and eggs at breakfast and at lunch and dinner the chefs would cook fresh meat/fish. Our room was relatively basic but it was clean and had everything we needed as we were only using it as a base for sleeping in. The bathrooms were lovely and looked recently refurbished. The hotel grounds are compact but well kept and the pool area was great for lounging by with a book and a drink. The bar area was very inviting with a lovely terrace. There was entertainment provided twice during our week long stay but we didn't watch so I can't comment on it. The people working in the hotel were very efficient if not overly friendly. The girls working in the dining room ensure the place was kept running smoothly. We never had to wait for any meal service but that may be partly due to when we stayed (first week in Oct). Overall, we were more than happy with our stay and would gladly visit Portinatx again in the future as it remains one of the most beautiful places we have seen.
went to the groupotel in June & it was the worst holiday ever. There was no entertainment in the day or night, there would be football on the tv in the bar in the evenings & that would be it. The hotel staff was so rude & unhelpful. One restaurant staff was arguing with my family member in the middle of the restaurant in front of guests because she had a coke for a drink during breakfast. Room was tiny, had a view of a brick wall in our room, but then got moved to a pool view room when we complained. Would never recommend this hotel to anybody. Worst holiday of my life !!
We arrived in the pouring rain, our room was not ready and when it was ready we found the lobby area was flooded. The rooms were very small, the bathroom had limited space and the rooms with a bigger bathroom had smaller room space. Sky tours took our rep away two days after we arrived. To go on a tour there was a walk of about one mile, I noticed guests at other hotels got picked up at their hotels. The trips also seemed to take place during meal times which reduced the AI element and no packed lunches were offered. On our last but one day the fire alarm went off at 06:30 good job a UK Firer Fighter was present. On the last day we requested a wake up call which did not happen when I asked why I was told by the receptionist he was too busy he offered us coffee and cake the coffee was cold and the cake was not edible.
We booked this hotel for a nice relaxing break away. We were told when we booked that it was a quiet resort but this was fine with us as that is exactly what we were looking for. We were checked in quickly and efficiently and got to our room. It was small but perfectly formed, the bathroom was newly done and very clean. The food was excellent for a three star resort. In the morning they would cook fresh pancakes or eggs as you wanted them i.e. fried, omelette, etc. At lunch and dinner they cook fresh meats for you, you pick what you want and you wait for them to cook it to your liking, have only ever seen this in five star resorts so was very impressed. After 5 days we did start to tire of the buffet as they were much and the same every day. We ate out a few times which we would have done anyway. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet resort close the beach. I would say however it is on a steep hill if you have difficulty walking this is not the resort for you.
just had a fab 2wks stay at the oasis hotel. it was as describe in the broucher and more. the staff was so helpful and friendly . the room was great so clean , had a lovely bathroom with big walkin shower . food was gr8 , lovely setting all round . a small walk to the fantastic clean beaches with its crystal clear waters . a few people complained about things but we could not agree with any of this, yes i will go again and will recomend to friends as well. its only graded as a 3* but i have been in 4* that needs looking at so i say up the oasis to 4*
Bathroom in a cupboard, no fridge in room. One toilet for outside bar, swimming pool area and grass area, at least 100 people. No lounge. 1st floor rooms flooded, and dining room. No Rep for last 10 days. Got soaked going to dining room, if wet.
Just returned from great week at this cracking little hotel,we could not find what some people find to complain about. The staff were the most friendly people we have ever come across even the lady who fried the eggs in a morning had a permenant smile ,food was excellent ,rooms spotless with a great big walk in shower in bathroom, all public areas were well maintained with a lovely pool area and a outdoor bar and lawned area. Portinax itself was like going back in time to what Spain was like 30 years ago beautiful crystal clear sea some nice bars a couple of English bars a nice little resort,if there is a downside it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. We will be returning thankyou grouphotel oasis for a great holiday
No idea why this hotel is currently number 7 out of 9 as couldn't fault it, and certainly seemed better than some others nearby that have scored higher and are far more expensive! Lovely setting, small but immaculately presented grounds and bar area. Good range of both food and drinks - didn't repeat food over a weeks stay which is rare for all incs. Rooms nothing flash but bathrooms seem to have been re-furbed and are very modern - but whole room and building are incredibly clean. Better to face pool/mountains as sea view is limited due to trees, and the sea is much better close up as the jade green crystal clear water is lovely. Fine as a base if you want to do a few trips around the island but mainly have a relaxing holiday. Entertainment was scarce in early October but this was preferred as most places put on a show too cheesy anyway. Some people had a moan about this but clearly they don't read reviews before booking as is very clear to me - they preferred the English café scene so says it all really. If you hate Delboys bar and prefer a lovely intimate hotel with great staff and similar than this is the place for you!
Just returned from a weeks holiday. ..super value for money, friendly staff, food choices for everyone, clean, quite, simply but lovely, would I go again ...yes!!!!! If you want to party 24-7 this is not for you but to chill and relax it's got all you need. Well happy.
