Stayed at el coto from the 31st august to 7th September. I was a bit sceptical at first as it was my first time self catering in Ibiza and because it's so small as I'm used to big hotels and going all inclusive. But I was so wrong about this place!! It's an absolute gem :) Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely man on reception and we were shown to our room. We had room 105, ground floor apartment with the balcony looking directly onto the pool. We got to the hotel at about 11:50pm so we couldn't get any food or drinks in. Unfortunately there wasn't any bottled water available, so we just went to bed. There is a shop next to the hotel which is really convenient, I went there the following morning to get some bits for breakfast and get some water and pop. The staff in the shop are very nice always say hello and thank you. It's open from 10am - 9pm apart from Sunday where they have a siesta mid day. Linked to the hotel is bar/ restaurant which serves really nice food at decent prices especially if you don't wish to pay the prices for food on the sunset strip! Our room was very spacious, comes with a fully equipped kitchen and fridge. Beds were comfy, the room was very clean. The bathroom okay only downside was the shower head as it tilted to the side and we'd always end up with a puddle by the side of the bath. The balcony is a decent size, on two occasions we had quite a big ant problem however reception sorted it very quickly. We had a problem with our air con but that was sorted the same day. The pool is bigger than it looks on the pictures but it's not massive but to be honest not that many people went in the pool, there were plenty of sun loungers to choose from. The hotel is very quiet and was a nice change to the noises hotels that I've stayed in, there was a group of guys and girls about 7 or 8 of them but they weren't loud they kept to themselves. To walk to the sunset strip takes you about 10 minutes but it is a nice walk. Also just 2 mins from the hotel is a lovely little aquarium. To get a taxi from San Antonio bus station to el coto is about 6 Euro. I recommend this hotel so much as it's just a lovely atmosphere we had such an incredible stay, our 4th year in Ibiza and it was by far the best holiday in Ibiza. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making our holiday great!
Great place , you can have some nice walks especially down to san an , some nice bars along the way like golden bhudda. Apartments have all you need TVs need updating if you get a rain day and beds could be more comfortable. The bar/restaurant is cheap and staff are great, everything you need is there and we loved our stay highly recommended
We had a very enjoyable three night stay at El Coto. Although the complex is a bit dated, it has been well maintained and was clean. The room - although again not modern - was well equipped and large. The rooms only get made up once a week (so not at all during our stay) but as long as you know that, then its fine. That inconvenience is offset by the convenience of a kitchenette in the room. There was always plenty of space around the pool - which catches plenty of the sun. The hotel complex is also connected to a bar/restaurant with its own outside seating, and a supermarket. Everything you could need was there. We found staff friendly and helpful throughout (we dealt with three staff members) including borrowing a hair dryer and ordering a taxi etc. We were able to access our room two hours before check-in. The area is quiet (no noise at night including from other guests), but is a nice 15/20 minute walk along the coastal path to San An. All in all we really enjoyed our first visit to Ibiza, and the hotel was a big part of that.
El Coto staff were all amazing, helped us out loads with suggestions and travel. The pool is nice and clean and the rooms were well kept and clean. The downside is that its quite far away from the centre - nice in some respects, but if you have lazy friends or are planning to come back late at night be ready to fork out for a lot of taxis! Short walk to very nice beaches. Aircon and a mini kitchen in the room.
Reception staff are very friendly and helpful and are there 24/7. The rooms are spacious and have a kettle, cooler and all the basics. Nice sized balconies. Everything was clean, air con worked a treat! The area is nice and quiet and there is a handy market shop attached for basics run by a very friendly man.pool area looked nice although we didn't use it. Only issue was the walls/doors are quite thin, there were others staying there that, on occasions could be quite noisy into the small hrs, I'm sure reception can hear so it's be nice if they were spoken to. Maybe we just struck a bit unlucky with our neighbours! Perhaps a reminder from reception when people come in late to be respectful. Other than that, a great place to stay.
This hotel is quite close to cala gracio beach. It's a walking of 1.5 kms from main bus station of San antoni portmany. Rooms are big and clean. Property looks a bit old. No breakfast. Kitchen provided. Swimming pool provided. If you are arriving in night, be prepared that last 50 metres approach to hotel is pitch dark and no proper road. So tread carefully.
Our 2nd stay here Great quiet basic base far enough from the madness Clean spacious rooms Warm welcome, traditional bar serving quality drinks and food Pool area nice and relaxed Definitely return again
Stayed the 4th year in a row. This hotel will be CHANGING TO CUBAN STYLE DECOR in this years (2018) off-season. By all accounts will be very nice with a roof-top bar....I want to wish ALL the staff well and hope they see sense to keep all of them on board and employed as it's one of the reasons I have returned every year....all very friendly and helpful. This year there were some young lads who at 4pm every day started their own Happy-Gas balloon party around the pool....looked like fun if you are still 20 but see-ing as I'm double that, I just looked on and remembered stupid things we did at that age....not a fraction as bad as we were when we were that age....so fair play to the lads....let the parties never stop...
I stayed in this hotel for one week at the end of June 2017 and would recommend it. Although the hotel states that it's located in San Antonio, it's more like Cala Gracio which is the next bay over which does mean you have fair a walk to San Antonio Bay. From the hotel you can get to Cafe Mambo very easily in around a 15-18 minute walk. To get to San Antonio Bay (for Ocean Beach, Eden and Es Paradis) it would take around half an hour to walk. However there is a local bus service and taxis are faily cheap, from around 8 euros from the hotel to San Antonio Bay/ Bus Station. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Please note that the hotel does not have a lift so we had to carry out suitcases to the second floor. We had a balcony with a view of the pool however the hotel is based up a small hill so our only view was of the surrounding trees. However Cala Gracio Beach is only a 5 minute walk away (leave the hotel and turn right) and is an unspoilt beach and is relatively quiet, unlike that of San Antonio Bay. It was a real jewell of a beach with surrounding hills, clear blue sea and white unspoilt sand. The hotel has a local shop for snacks and drinks and a small resturant attached, both of which are relatively reasonable. As we were self catering we preferred to walk to San Antonio to a larger supermarket to stock up for the week. Although we had a bit of a walk to get to San Antonio and further afield, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as it's so peaceful and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of San Antonio.
Great little place. Clean and tidy. You can walk into San Antonio in 15 mins. Plenty of free parking if you have a car. 5 minutes walk to Cala Gracio beach, which is lovely. Walk round the rocks to The Chiringuito in the next cove. We did it at night and had the pleasure of a stray cat accompanying us and showing us the way :-) Lovely, friendly staff too.
