Just returned from a 3 week stay at the Sunrise, and what a fantastic chilled holiday. My partner and I had great pleasure soaking up the sunshine on our own private beach with plenty sunbeds at any time of the day (doint have to get up early and put towels down) The rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. Food is plentiful and suitable for all pallets. The staff go that extra mile to ensure that you are happy and have no problems. The manager Hamada and his senior staff go round everyday asking you if you have any issues (nothing is a problem and if it can be sorted that day --then it is) Yes I will go back without any hesitation and plan to in October. I would rate this hotel not 5 star but extremely close to it.There is work going on at the moment( painting and upgrading but with no disruption to guests)
Just returned from a 11 night stay at the Sunrise Holidays resort. OK this may not be a 5 star hotel but is very close to it and value for money I think is outstanding. We found the people who worked at the Sunrise to be very polite and are a credit to the management of this hotel. A great example of staff was Abanob who was a waiter on the 4th floor - what a very pleasant young man. The Mediterranean restaurant was really good (you can go at no charge once a week) The Nasaya beach restaurant you had to pay for around £25 and I felt the food was good and worth paying - we went twice and both times not disappointed. We found the 2 other restaurants very good for breakfast and lunch but found on occasions the choices and temperature of the food sometimes not up to standard especially if going late to dinner (after 8.30pm) , however again I could not complain about the service given. We went on an excursion to Luxor - brilliant but a long day we booked this in the UK with Egypt Excursions (£80 saving over Thomas Cook) and was spot on. We went with another couple and had a tour guide (Mawma) to ourselves in Luxor - brill. I would recommend the use of them as you are saving a lot of money and getting the same (if not better) than other tours offered. Our room was rather small but clean and functional - no complaints. We found the whole hotel to be of a good standard, there was some work going on but little disturbance to us. However I would appreciate if there was a quiet area to chill out in as there always seemed to be music somewhere in the background. Would I go again - well answer is yes1
Just came back from week at hotel very clean staff very helpful food superb (didn’t eat chips once!)animation team work hard and very friendly especially Chloe and olga .made some great friends there and plan to return next year
Never having been abroad in Jan we didn’t know what to expect weather wise, so an Egypt break to be reliant on heat was a must.. Hurghada seemed the only available place to visit in Egypt so without any research I looked at a few hotels n noticed this one seemed to tick all the boxes for both me n my Husband. I’m a great believer in gut instincts n I wasn’t wrong on this one.. what a beautiful hotel n surroundings. There is a private beach with beds in abundance n wind breakers too, plus a large pool n lagoon for those who wish to swim away from the sea. The food is outstanding, so much choice full of top standard flavours n the sweets are to die for! Can’t impress on how well this hotel is run, from the front of house to the back of house, no one can do enough for you, I spent my birthday here n I got throughly spoilt by my housekeeper who left me the most amazing towel display alongside a birthday cake n I received a floral bouquet from the Sunrise entertainment manager Naz, what a gentleman plus Sem Sem from the animation team and not forgetting friendly Bob n his Twin, not lol.. overall an amazing break away from the norm, word to the wise, The hotel taxi’s try to over charge, you can barter a price or go with the street taxi’s but name your price 1st, eg Marina to hotel 20egp same Hotel to Marina 20 Egyptian pounds, that’s less than £1! The Senzo Mall is only 50 egp one way, don’t pay any more, you’ll find it’s really cheap to travel. Would we go back? Definitely and stick to the upgrade double sea view rooms overlooking the beach n sea front, it’s definitely a room with a view, thank you Sunrise holidays resort, outstanding from start to finish.
Being an avid trip adviser review reader I was getting concerned about rather a lot of bad reviews prior to my stay, these were all unfounded in my opinion but I accept everyone wants/likes/expects different things. Firstly transfer mini bus was very shabby and old and thought oh no this is what is to come for picking cheapest break we could find! Upon arrival a mere 10mins from airport (so TBH would probably get taxi next time) I was surprised that reception was clean, front steps etc and was given the usual sweet cocktail/cold flannel whilst check in was sorted. Only one lift working for large hotel and we were top floor. Our room was very large -we upgraded but furniture décor is very dated but clean and lovely view, comfortable beds so don't really care about the rest, I personally wouldn't pay even £50 more for modern furniture just for 1 week. We struggled to find main restaurant, although after 24 hours we were okish! Staff VERY attentive, food brilliant - yes its not 5* the Ritz but if you couldn't find something to eat then you most be crazy. We didn't have one bad meal and tried both buffet restaurants as the one on level 3 had lovely view for breakfast but the omelette chef in the main restaurant was by far the best. Drinks as expected not amazing but same if anywhere in Egypt, we like to drink prosecco and cava and this was an issue as you need to get to duty free shop within 2 days of arrival to get any alcohol other than what is in the hotel, they don't sell it in supermarkets or have off licence shops like Sharm (suggest you take some in from UK if you want specific drink) anyway looks like a lot of updating is going on and this didn't bother us it was great to see the circus act/painters abseiling from hotel whist painting. The beach is a small stretch but lovely lagoon and no long pier so it really is only one hop from sunlounger to the sea. The Beach bar is very smart, not much food choice in day but sufficient and again staff were amazing, fresh pizza, kebabs and chips, chicken, fish and salad bar. We used the red flag system - ask for one when you get/exchange towels and although spa, trip reps would say hello they would walk straight past. The hotel management go round daily asking if everything is ok and certainly seem to be VERY interested in improving this hotel, although for me I would rather it stays the same not go up in price due to better bed side furniture etc. Our room cleaner probably wasn't a natural cleaner but always clean towels and amazing towel art! Hotel doctor was the best jab giver I have had but please note it is on a pay first claim back system with insurance now. Pharmacy 2 minute walk outside hotel and was very good but beware crazy roads, crazy pavements and being a blond woman you do feel very watched. I personally liked the area better than the made for tourist resorts, yes its VERY rough but its real and not fake - got asked to go to the Marina by a lot of men - didn't go but think it is wear local drink, dance etc and heard another couple who visited the market and had a meal and said it was SO good. We booked one trip to Dolphin House with Camil (he is always walking about and beach boys who were all great to will get him for you if you ask) we had a amazing day, snorkelling - well we tried and saw a few dolphins but to be honest at the wrong side of 50 the getting in/out the speed boat was more like a SAS exercise, the snorkelling on the reef was great and food and staff made the trip a million% worth doing especially for £35 - come on you cant get day trip in the UK for that! So to sum up if you have paid a good price for this hotel then YOU CANT MOAN about a thing its clean the staff are great and the location all deserve 10/10 also just to say Chloe the animation team were very good although we were in bed early and up early to make most of short days. I noticed in the latest review someone said it is full of OAPs - I agree most were over 50 but with all adult only hotels out of season this is the case maybe the reviewer ought to do her research as adult only usually means older unless in party resorts ie Magaluf. Well done to everyone at the Sunrise Holiday Resort I CANT WAIT TO RETURN x
Lovely hotel just full of old age pensioners the food wasn't good enough there was very little choice to choose from. The animation team are great simsim is great he used to always get me to join in and he does great Arabic classes and chloe would always find time to talk to you and Rita and olaga would teach me to dance on a night in the jungle and kiro was realy good at the water arobics classes some of the shows we're good but I didn't like the belly dancer dancing In my face when I said no wen she asked me to join her on stage . Also the beach isn't big enough for you to walk around and Omar the animation guy always walked around texting never spoke to any guest Gala meal was awfull and a waiter sat us outside next to smokers we told him we don't like to sit outside but he just left
Where to start, I travelled alone and was given a sea view room, this was probably the best thing about the trip, room was filthy!!! Shower curtain was 2 toned from peoples “stains” and barely covers half the bath the plug holes were rusted and the door frames hadn’t been cleaned in god knows how long along with exposed wires, very dodgy plug sockets and decor that hasn’t been updated in about 30 years. Food was ok what you expect out of chafing dishes (big metal heating trays) but was generally cold or like warm, the a la carte “restaurant” is the biggest insult going, you didn’t get what was described on the menu and what you did get was not a la carte it was the items from the upstairs buffet bought downstairs and kept warm I walked out half way through the meal after the “seafood soup” was like dish water with LOADS of pepper, breakfast was appalling with sweetbread everywhere and not much else although you could have pasta for breakfast if you wanted it. Entertainment was shocking well non existent and I was kept awake by the disco just outside my room, pool was not worth entering with a film on the surface. Drinks you didn’t even get a full glass and what you did get was warm and flat. You get harassed by salesmen at every turn to buy things Not the best experience I have had Won’t be returning and definitely won’t be recommending
first of all great holiday location great staff superb all of them room good food good animation team olga the girls and boys lots of effort great special mention to ahmed the waiter mustafa the bar man my room cleaner on the fourt floor fabulous great job keep it for the money i paid worth it will i go there yes 100 percent ADULTS ONLY GREAT
We had the best experience ever. The hotel was clean and well presented. The staff excelled there selves nothing was to much trouble . We were told there was some work going on but it never intruded on our holiday. The food was lovely entertainment staff were very friendly and entertaining x room was stunning excellent views clean and all extra in room included cleaned everyday. Beach beautiful food at pool excellent at bar what more can I say an excellent holiday nothing to say negative hope to visit again soon
Had a very enjoyable and relaxing week. The weather was lovely. Temperature being 24_27 during daytime. Evenings get cold. Hotel. Though a bit rundown but everywhere they are trying to update and repair. Room good size, clean every day, nice seaview balcony. Only problem was the shower screen leaking from day one. We thought not to complain as not a big issue. But gradually it started to get worse and by 5th day even the drain by the basin was owerflowing. Food was of good variety and tasty. We did the ala carter, Mediterranean restaurant and again enjoyed especially the steak was super.beach side bar ok, not much. Same or similar. But good when you are out and don't want to go inside for lunch. Staff everywhere very cheerful and try really hard. Entertainment good. We enjoyed the fruit festival by the lagoon. And the lagoon is the star of the holiday. Water crystal clear and you can see little fish there too. It is a quiet peaceful place, nothing outside the hotel. We walked down one day to the town. Very disappointing, rundown . Even marina was deserted. May be it being not the holiday season.
