Reserved 2 rooms for 1 night and our experience was terrible! One room had a sewage problem (e.g., residue from toilet comes up thru the shower drain). Then the free breakfast was horrible (e.g., all instant food)...had to take kids to Waffle House next door! Secondly, the hotel WiFi doesn’t work either...we used our hotspots from our phones! The Owners definitely don’t put any money into location. My advice to anyone reading this post...save your money and drive to another Hotel or just sleep in your vehicle if can’t find nothing! This place sucks!
Absolutely amazing breakfast : cinnamon rolls with chocolate are so fresh and delicious with a nice hot morning coffee! Was a very nice surprise! Rooms are clean, well-equipped and pleasant to stay. Location is very good! China house is next to it. Also Walmart is 3 miles away Staff is very polite and friendly. Very good! Thank you
I have stayed here several times in the past year and always treated well. Clean rooms great location. Very safe and great customer service.the staff was fantastic. I will always stay here when in Madison.
Extremely rude gentleman at the front desk.. We asked to check in a little bit earlier because we had a dog with us that needed somewhere to stay. He told me that EVERY SINGLE PERSON that stayed at the hotel the night before didn't check out until 11:00am (hard to believe that not a SINGLE person left until 11:00am, especially since there were only a couple cars in the parking lot) and he didn't have a room clean. This was around 11:15. When I told him that we were going to have to go and rent another room for the day just so our dog would have somewhere to stay (because the Motel 6 down the road told us that they would let us check in early), he became extremely rude and told me he didn't care if I went and got a reservation somewhere else because he "already had our money from our reservation and we wouldn't be able to get a refund." He also told me that he knew who we were (because my boyfriend had been in and talked to him prior) and that he would not allow him to stay in the room we reserved.
The room rates are reasonable. The rooms have been recently renovated and very clean. The rooms are stocked well with cups and coffee for the coffee pot. I love the wood floors. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this hotel for almost 3 weeks while working in town. We had 2 rooms and couldn't have been happier! Newly renovated rooms, cleaned every day, no bugs, decent breakfast in the mornings. And the staff were the nicest people! It's in a great location and the Chinese buffet in front of the hotel is SO good! The only thing about the hotel we had a slight issue with was the wifi. It was in and out for most of the time we were there but everything else was so good we couldn't be upset about that. We will definitely stay there again if we're ever in the area. Thanks again for a great stay!
We stayed at this Econo Lodge for five nights and found the experience mixed. If you don't mind the smell of stale smoke this is the place for you. We checked out more than five rooms with the evening manager before we found a room that, although it still had the faint odor of stale smoke, was tolerable. The beds had mattress was firm and to our liking. The water pressure in the shower was adequate. The microwave and refrigerator were an unexpected pleasure. The evening manager was pleasant and easy to deal with. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay if; you just need a place to sleep and get cleaned up and do not mind the smell of stale smoke.
We originally booked this hotel for 2 nights, but barely made it through night 1. After turning out the lights to go to bed we had to turn on the lights for a second and right there on the night stand was a little cockroach. After a couple attempts I finally killed it. Brought it to the front desk and they gave me some bug spray. The front desk staff was helpful. They said they would make a note and give me a discount. Well, it ended up that the discount was for 25% off the 2nd night. Which we definitely were not going to do. We stayed at a different Econolodge in TN the night before and it was great. This one was not anywhere near the quality. We checked out as soon as we could and stayed in a different hotel the next night.
This is definitely not a 4 stars establishment! Worse hotel I've stayed in. The room smelled like smoke and the carpet was dingy. No irons in the room. Ever the blow dryer looked covered in nicotine. Save your money.
I chose Econo Lodge because of the price. That is the best thing about it. The room was a little small and the breakfast was almost nil - something that looked like oatmeal plus nice small blueberry muffins. Also some raisin bran and corn flakes. Coffee okay. My real objection was that I noticed some seedy characters loitering around outside the rooms. Other than that, the room was clean, the bed was okay for sleeping and I only spent one night there. If you want budget accommodations, this probably would be the best place to stay in Madison.
