Stayed in two rooms in this hotel for approximately a month and a half First problem one of the two air conditioning units not working (same problem in Landry/exercise room) the unit in the hallway also did not work. So on days when it was over 80 degrees it was very uncomfortable One of the two eyes on stove did not work There were four washers and two did not work and there were also a couple of dryers that didn't work In the second larger room I moved in the bathtub was so dirty I could not get it back White with Clorox even after soaking it. When I reported these problems I was told that they are old and we are going to remodel soon which didn't help me Finally the carpet was so dirty that everyday my white socks were filthy when I took them off and either the couch or carpet smelled like someone threw up on it. I asked for the carpet to be cleaned and was told I would have to move to yet another room so I moved out
I visit this hotel often. I never experience any problems with staff or on the property. I will continue to visit this property. Staff is very nice and helpful. I will say this property is definitely due for a refresher.
I gave this place 3 stars due the friendliness of every staff person I met. However this is an old looking and feeling hotel. Cheap furnishings, filthy laundry room, 1980ish fitness equipment. Although the laundry is free the washing machines are filthy inside and very dirty on the outside. From first glance you would think they all were broken due to the low up keep. It toke over an hour to dry clothes once you find a dryers that works. Find a gym or workout in your room as the fitness center is way out of date! The rooms are standard but could really use an upgrade as well. But not as bad as the laundry and fitness facilities
really good place to stay in the area - It is a long stay style and outfitted for it. You can safely run on the street - sidewalks over a dozen restaurants in the area. Many small boutique shoppes. Only thing is they need to monitor smoking better. You could smell it in the elevator and hallways.
Charlotte, NC is the perfect halfway point when traveling by road for me for the holidays and I needed a place to stay for one night each way that allowed cats (my cat does not do well on an airplane, unfortunately). The Candlewood Suites Huntersville hotel was a quiet, clean, affordable, pet-friendly place for us to rest for one night. I have stayed here 4 times now (2 nights per holiday break for the past 2 years) and have no complaints! It is convenient to a large shopping center as well as restaurants.
Let me start by mentioning that Jordan was atended Front desk when I arrived at 6:30 a.m very friendly and professional, she thanked me for being an IHG member and helped me to be able to enjoy the late check out :) Room was very clean and the bed very comfortable with fresh linen. A renovation would not be bad at all, I would definitely return!
I chose this hotel because it is very close to my home. Very convenient when people want to visit me. It is pet friendly. The bed is VERY comfortable with quality linens and a lovely down (or down alternative) comforter with 4 fluffy pillows. The room also offered a full size refrigerator and a small, well stocked kitchenette. The TV had lots of cable channels including HBO. Since it was used literally just for sleeping, we didn't use the many amenities, including a well equipped gym and FREE washers and dryers! They had 24 hour coffee and a small "store" to buy food items and toiletries. I really liked this hotel. It was clean and comfortable and had some really nice amenities for the price.
Room was clean, front desk staff was nice and helpful, but hotel needs MAJOR renovations and upgrades!! There were stains everywhere, paint peeling, old and dirty appliances in the room, and the Candlewood "welcome rug" in the elevator was horrendously dirty. Not a good looking hotel, looks very old and dirty! Would be great if renovated! If I am in the area again, I would stay at a different hotel.
We were staying in town for the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Upon arrival we located the hotel easily. Carts were available in the lobby for us to load our things onto. April was helping customers when I arrived to check in but I waited patiently in the back. She noticed me waiting, asked if I already had a reservation, and because I did, she was able to provide me with a room key immediately. I signed some papers and I was on my way up to the room. The room was a great temperature when we arrived. The room looked clean, and the bathroom was well stocked. The chair was a lounge chair, but it did not always maintain its lounge position which made it difficult to sit in. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fine. I realized I did not bring a razor with me, and went down to the front desk in search of one. Usually the cupboard is stocked with ones, but when April (from the front desk) looked, she didn't see any. She said she'd bring one to my room which she did very quickly. She even gave me an extra just in case! We did use the DVD player provided in the room, however we had to plug it in which was a little difficult since the cords are zip tied tightly making the TV unable to swivel. We did get it working and we were able to watch the DVD we had brought from home. Check out was quick. I had used points so I did not need a receipt for my visit. A cart was also available that morning which was great since we had a lot to transport out again. Overall the stay was great. April was very friendly and extremely helpful. I have stayed here before and would stay here again if I were in the area. It made an excellent overnight stay for the Renn Fest and has a wonderful location for food and shopping.
Extended stay for work about 2 times a year over the past several years. Not a bad place at all. Always a friendly staff, pet friendly, rooms are always clean. The appliances are out dated (but that doesn't really bother me as long as it's clean). Also there is a big laundry room that is free! Always an awesome bonus. Only negative thing I have to say is that if you have to stay in a smoking room due to nonsmoking rooms being sold out I would recommend going elsewhere bc the smoking rooms smell HORRIBLE. I had to do this last time I was there for a week before I could get moved to a nonsmoking room and all my clothing smelled like the room and I struggled with sinus allergies while I was in that particular room due to smoke. Fortunately they have all the smoking rooms in same area so as long as you are in nonsmoking area you'll never even notice it. Other than that I have never had a bad experience with anything else here. I will continue to stay here whenever I am in town for work (as long as there are nonsmoking rooms available 😉).
