Lovely Garden Room straight on to the garden and pool area, although the AC didn't appear to be working and there are some mosquitoes. Food was plentiful and adequate. Entertainment was of a moderate standard, but we weren't expecting anything. Quiet hotel set on a hill about 2km from El Rompido. Beach is about 10mins walk. Indoor pool is nice but you have to pay extra for the Spa. Some spirits were served from branded bottles but I suspect that the contents were either diluted or OEM as I felt incredibly sober. Transfers from Faro, via minibus, took three hours going and 2.5 hours returning. Still, I am not complaining and overall we enjoyed our stay.
Can't fault this hotel on any thing except location ,,,,, sta,ff very freandly entertainment was a bit hit and missed but the staff tried there best , couple nice walks out side hotel down to the beach where there is a boat that takes you to an island for free but nothing there other than beach ,,,we went on a few excursion s as we were there for 2 weeks which was to long a stay if looking to relax in the sun for a week next to the pool then this is ideal place to go there is a village which is nice enough but not much in the way of shops if you are a shopper lovely views at beach ,,, we walked which took about 40 mins from hotel
I have just returned from the Garden Playanatural. It's a mixed bag for me to be honest. I travelled with a friend and we are both in our mid-thirties. The most striking thing on arrival was the age of the guests, I'd say the average age was mid 70s, be prepared for a sea of sandals and socks. You should do what you will with that information, but for me, it would have been nice to have a better mix of ages (I know it's an adults only hotel, I didn't think that meant adults who had been receiving a pension for at least 10 years.) The hotel itself is large and spotlessly clean, although in need of some updating. The pools are very clean. I know this has been said before but this place really is in the middle of nowhere, even the nearest beach is remote and as it's a natural beach it has absolutely nothing on it, no shops, no parasols for hire. Nada. So you cannot buy food or snacks anywhere. You are extremely isolated. I cannot state this strongly enough. Which brings me on to the food at the hotel. I don't mean to be unkind but the food is terrible. It is of extremely poor quality, bland and barely edible. I'm not sure why this is and can only think that this is to cater to the guests palate? I think the chef was Spanish but the food certainly was not of Spanish origin. Pureed potatoes (!), battered fish, battered chicken. There was ham and cheese bread which had been deep fried. The paella dishes were both salty and bland. The soup is powdered and added to water. The fruit juices were artificial and so full of sugar it made them undrinkable. The wine is basically paint stripper. The desserts are unidentifiable, gelatinous goos. It's all just so, so bad. I couldn't wait to get home to have a proper meal. Having said that the staff were great, particularly the entertainment staff (yes it's naff but they worked so hard!). The Spa was a highlight (again in need of some finishing touches decor wise but enjoyable and very clean). We made the best of it and it was a relaxing trip for a couple of days but I couldn't have stayed any longer. I enjoyed the weather and having a relax but it's not somewhere I would return.
We arrived about 10 at night the twin bedded superior room booked was not available, we were given another for that night we never unpacked just slept. next morning we were offered a twin bedded room not superior but with a super sea view, beautifull we were told by the other guests that water was available from reception not by the receptionist, nor were we told that that the shuttle bust cost 4 euros made about 2 return journeys a day, although not a long walk it was hilly, the Bar area is horrible entertainment laughable for the wrong reasons and not one night did we have a decent drink everything was too sweet and although branded bottles were on show they were not used in any of our drinks Cava was the best bet, one bartenderon duty so there was always a queue at the the bar, whilst we were there the pool bar opened once so if you were by the lovely pools relaxing you had to trek to the indoor bar- no waiters! On the plus side the restaurant we thought was very good although open from 7.30 to ten after about 9.30 they were clearing- same at breakfast the rooms lovely and kept clean, We would not return simply because we have been to better but it is a beatifull hotel bit remote setting and the bar service and area was the worst we have ever been too
We have just come back from a wonderful stay at the garden playa natural. The staff are such an assett to the hotel and we really want to thank them for their professionalism and hard work. Rooms spacious and clean and we could not fault the food and the service in the dining room. It was beginning to get busy, but it ran like a dream. We entered into the spirit and took advantage of the great entertainment team ,Melanie, sylke and Carlos. Their enthusiasm was infectious. Very impressed with the yoga and Pilates classes by Melanie as she is a wonderful teacher. We were lucky to meet up with other lovely people and there was a great atmosphere in the evening. Relax and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Staff were amazing very friendly and hard working food very good we had a very nice room overlooking the central courtyard which had sun from early afternoon. My one complaint is that I could only swim in the spa pool between the hours 14.00 to 16.00,after that you would have to pay for the Spa facilities as seniors it would cost 16 euros each which I found unusual when it is attached to the hotel. Being of a certain age I find the outside to cold so this is why we choose hotels with an indoor pool, apart from that it is in a beautiful location...
Me and mum went away for a few nights of chill, cocktails and sun! That's exactly what we got! Amazing staff, food, facilities, rooms. The spirits were internationally branded so I had the real Malibu which I was made up about and my mum being happy with beefeater gin. The entertainment team were amazing and Melanie was always so energetic and chatty. The room we were allocated was partial sea view but was very spacious. There was absolutely no faults at all and would 100% return to this amazing property!
The hotel itself was extremely good, the rooms clean and comfortable, nice swimming pools and good food and drink. The evening entertainment was great fun with lovely hosts who work very hard to get everyone involved without being pushy. We ate locally as well as at the hotel which was fabulous, and we hired a car to see the area which is well worth doing but not necessary depending on what suites you. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and recommended.
Currently guests & review is based on the food, not the hotel overall which we like. The hotel is pleasant, its light, bright and spacious. The pools are lovely, the views beautiful. The room (superior double) is large and comfortable. Odd details not told about when checked in, apparently entitled to free bottled water if All Inclusive from reception and some discussion about free soft drinks in the mini bar - this remains a mystery. Shuttle bus a waste of time. 3 times a week at 10 & 12 but enjoyed the walk, although about 40mins. Maybe more frequent in peak season? The breakfast buffet is good, enough choice. Only criticism is the concentrate orange juice - they grow everywhere...... It is the evening meal sadly which is poor. Its day 2 and we are struggling with it. My partner is the least fussy eater going and is even finding it hard to put a meal together. The hot food is very limited. The salad section is long but repeated bowls of nothing exciting, bowl of lettuce, repeat. Tomato, repeat, onion, repeat. Tinned pineapple as part of desserts? Food could be so much better, really lets the hotel down as otherwise really like it.
This was a five night break at the beginning of May which turned out to be the start of the season for this area. The hotel was large, light and airy and adults only. It was very peaceful. The bedroom was huge, we had a super king size bed and there was a pull out sofa if you wanted another. We had a balcony overlooking the forest and the sea was beyond it. A perfect room. There are two levels outside both with swimming pools and sun loungers and a pool bar. Being all inclusive all drinks were included and there were huge choices at breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snacks at the bar. There is entertainment if you want ta take part. While we were there, plenty was offered including yoga. Pilates, Zumba, water Zumba, rifle shooting and plenty more as well as evening entertainment. Carlos and Melanie were so enthusiastic and friendly to everyone. The beach was a short walk away and at this time of the year not many people using it. The hotel give you tickets for the local ferry to take you across the water to the other beach which again, was very quiet. I don't know how busy things get in high season. There is a local town about 2 kilometres away, El Rompido which has bars and restaurants and a few shops. This was a very relaxing, peaceful break for us and I would thoroughly recommend the hotel.
