I visited Van Der Valk whilst on a business trip. The staff were really professional and checking in was quick. The room is very clean, comfortable and light. For me the winner was the jacuzzi bath which was so relaxing after a long day. The bed was also so comfortable and I dropped straight off to sleep each night. Breakfast was excellent as well. They had the usual breads, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, meats and cheese. They also had fresh eggs, omelettes and pancakes cooked to order. I had the omelette each morning and it was really tasty. All in all I'd thoroughly recommend.
I had the pleasure to stay in a suite in this hotel. Well it was awesome. everything in the room was right. Nice tv, good sound installation, perfect bed and bathroom was spotless and it was a pleasure to stay a long time in the bubble bath. I have absolutely no complaint about this hotel whatsoever. Maybe that it's crowded. The bar, the restaurant (good food for a "motorway hotel") Views are impressive. (since suites are on the top floor ;-) Very friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Utrecht-area !
When you speak of a luxe room one does expect that the bubble bath is working. Same goes for the water heater, which was also not working at all. This must explain the amount of dust gathered on the plate where it stands on. And an empty minibar, really? Only an ad for a minibar package, where it is not clear what's in it nor the price, not even how to get it. This is not what someone expects when used to stay often at hotels in Europe. In a 'luxe room' I expect a bathrobe and slippers and soft towels. None of them there. This hotel has great potential, it's a special tower with great views, the rooms are spacious and so is the bathroom. And it's designed with taste. The food is fine and the room service friendly and fast. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is fine but I've been in even busier hotels where you do not have to wait like 15' to get a fried egg, even at 'rush hour'. And it's all just to narrow at the breakfast buffet, not allowing people to circulate efficiently but creating congestion. Free parking is a nice plus.
Came here with a group of about 100 people for lunch. I was amazed how well they coped with such a large group. I susspect the resturant could be big enough for as may a three hundred people. The meal was really good. The place is modern and well looked after. The staff are helpfull, but still have a lot to learn.
I stayed at the Van der Valk in Houten for 2 nights for a business trip. The room was spacious and had all the amenities one may desire. I was given a room at the 13th floor, the view was nice too. Breakfast was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful and even the restaurant downstairs deserves a special mention for their delicious seafood dishes. Absolutely recommended if in Houten/Utrecht.
Almost perfect breakfast with coffee above average. Surrounding area suitable for walk in the country. There are two bus lines straight to Utrecht central station. Good wifi everywhere in the hotel. Spacious room and bathroom.
excellent hotel with large modern rooms. we stayed there and took the P&R into amsterdam which worked out to be very cost efficient. hotel staff is very helpful. all areas are tastefully decorated and restaurants were posh. breakfast was also fab. the room had large windows which took in surrounding views. all in all, one of the best hotels we have stayed in europe.
Nice big room and all the standard amenities u expect in the Valk. Breakfast was good particularly as there were gluten free options on offer without needing to ask. Meetings area at the front is brightly lit but tables close together so can be overheard.
This hotel has all the requirements for a first class hotel. The rooms are large and well appointed; the bathrooms have a separate shower and whirlpool bath. Try and get a room at the front of the hotel the view is much better than the back. The restaurant is really first class, the menu has a very good selection of Dutch and International food, staff are very attentive, polite and smartly attired. The only negative is the fact that the hotel is in the middle of a business park with a ten minute taxi ride to the town centre of Houten where there are many fine restaurants.
Excellent service. I'm coeliac and the service in the restaurant was absolutely amazing. Nothing at all was too much trouble. The personal service made me feel very special. Marja Maaswinkel is a credit to your company. Thankyou very much. Will visit again.
