Moved from the modern next door to this gem. This hotel has the views, ammenities , the atmosphere you would expect. Reasonably close to main shops of waikiki and short walk to ala moana shopping centre. Car hire hertz in lobby , convenience store , ice cream parlour. It has a couple of pools , two minute walk to the lagoon or ocean and its pretty quiet. Cable tv , great kitchen set up , large fridge and very clean upon arrival Rented from waikiki beach rentals Highly recommended
Staying in Ilikai unit #1143. The view is absolutely top notch. The owner is easily accessible by phone and email to set up the booking reservation. The Hilton Hawaiian Village is adjacent to Ilikai, offering extensive shopping and restaurants. The balcony views include ocean views, Waikiki beach, Hilton lagoon, Ala Wai harbor (setting for Gilligan’s Island TV series and Elvis movie Girls, Girls, Girls), Friday evening fireworks, downtown Honolulu, etc. The sea breeze coming into the unit is refreshing ... except for the occasional cigarette smoke that wafts in from nearby units. We simply shut the balcony doors until the smokers stop; a frustrating experience. We would stay here in the future.
Hubby and I stayed an extra night after we took a cruise from Vancouver to Ohau. We weren't able to check in before our luau so it was 10:00 before we got back to the hotel so we couldn't see anything until the next morning, we had an ocean view room which was wonderful. I thought the room was fine and the full kitchen was great, the vanity in the bathroom showed some wear, a tough up paint job would have done the trick. The king bed was comfortable and the room spacious, we couldn't get the play station to work as there are DVD's that you could watch. Not sure I would stay here again.
Our family stayed at the Ilikai for 10 nights and it was fantastic. We arrived at night pretty late so we couldn’t see anything out the windows. I got up to make coffee pretty early and was greeted with the most spectacular view of the ocean you’ve ever seen! We ate all our meals outside on the lanai and it was just a short walk to the beach. The staff were all great and were quick at delivering any towels etc that we needed at any time. Our cable didn’t work we discovered about halfway through our stay, but they sent a nice man up right away to fix the problem. The only negatives that I would say is that the carpet was pretty old and missing in spots. It would be great to see this replaced. One of the sliding balcony doors to the back bedroom was also not locking. We meant to mention it when we checked out but forgot. It was on the 22nd floor so we weren’t overly worried about it, but it would have made us feel better if it had locked with having kids in there. We just set the ironing board in the sliding part so it couldn’t be opened! These were the only things we can think of that we would change, as our stay was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again if we’re ever lucky enough to visit this beautiful island again!
I found this hotel a bit dated at first. But the location was great. We was on the 24th floor over looking the harbour. Walking distance to the beach. Shops and restaurants on the ground floor. They charge you $25 a night for resort fees. Things like, ice, newspaper, PlayStation games rentals and movie rentals. I didn’t agree to this but it as to be paid. So just remember that. And also they require around $200 for damage security. Which is a nightmare because when you check out it takes about 10 days to be put back into your account.
We booked the Ilikai through WaikikiBeachRentals.com in July 2018 for our trip in April 2019. All transactions took place online and after booking, a reservation summary was emailed to us with all of the information needed for our stay, including a link to make our room payments. We were able to split the payment and have the couple that we traveled with make their share of the payment through the link. I had one communication through the comment section on their website promptly responded to before we booked. Thought it was interesting that we also received, at the time of the booking, a key code for the room and the time it would be active. When we arrived at the hotel, there was no check-in process or need to go to the registration desk as we simply went to our room and used the key code. There are several elevators servicing the hotel with very short wait times. We had a 2 bedroom unit, 510, which would have slept 6 due to a sleeper couch. Our unit had a small kitchen (room for 2 to move around) that was well stocked with cooking utensils and dishes/glasses. There was a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stove, small sink/garbage disposal, and coffee maker. A bar that had one stool separated the kitchen from the living space. On one end of the room was a dining table with 6 chairs. In the middle was a leather couch, coffee table, small end table, tv cabinet, and a wall mounted flat screen tv. In the other end of the room was another small round table with 4 chairs. The 2 bedrooms were on opposite ends of the room. The master room was a little larger than the other bedroom with a dresser, nightstand, tv, king-size bed, closet space, bathroom, and the small balcony access. The other bedroom had 2 nightstands/lamps, closet space, queen-size bed, tv, access to the unit bathroom, and access to the main balcony (which had a better outside view.) There wasn't much room between the bed and wall mounted tv in this room, so we placed the 1 barstool under the tv so we wouldn't bump into it. The large balcony had a small table/4 chairs that faces the marina/ocean. The smaller balcony faces another hotel/town and had a smaller table with 2 chairs. Both bathrooms had plenty of towels and only soap was provided. The large windows in this unit give you a nice view. You are asked to turn the AC off when you are not in the room, but it works well and cools the room off pretty fast. Cinnamon's is the restaurant/bar on the lower floor and we enjoyed several meals, including the buffet, there. There is an ice cream shop, gift store, and a few other specialty shops/services located on the floor also. Although we didn't have to deal with the reception desk and concierge, I had questions for both, and they were very helpful. The swimming pool was clean. Towels are provided at the pool and there are several lounge chairs, but they do fill up fast during the day. We were still able to get chairs when we went. The Ilikai is in a nice location and a 15 minute or less walk can get you to several places to shop or eat. The lagoon and beach are only a few minutes walk away with Diamond Head Crater viewable from the beach. In our unit was a beach chair and mat which we made use of. Tour buses and trolleys stop in front of the hotel. There are also some businesses in the marina that provide excursions. I would suggest and recommend Waikiki Trolley (hop on/hop off) as a cheap way to get around if you don't already have plans. They have several different lines that take you different places for sightseeing. Would definitely stay at the Ilikai again, probably trying a different unit though.
The Ilikai it's self never fails to impress from the time you walk into the foyer it is like being at home, Cinnamon's is a great place to eat and our second visit to condo 1232 at the Ilikai condos was even better than our first. The condo was exactly as I remembered it, although some of the furniture had been upgraded, like the mattress and the 60 inch TV. The lanai was still remarkable and the whole condo comfortable and well appointed and maintained. We will be back.
Ilikai 1126 - This was our first time staying at ilikai, and we loved it. Our condo 1126 was a fantastic 2 bedroom apartment, with views of the lagoon/ocean and city/mountains. We love having the 2 balconies and used them both. Having the city views was lovely and that balcony provided the wind breeze which helped cool down the condo. The a/c unit was effective but really noisy. The unit had everything that we needed and we made use of the kitchen cooking half of our meals for the 2 week period. Ala Moana Shopping centre was fantastic and a quick 10 min walk got you there. There was a Foodlands food market where we got our food. You don't see the Hilton Friday night fireworks, from this unit, so If your wanting to see them, best to walk down to the lagoon. We had 6 people for our stay and 1 person was using the sofa couch to sleep. It is not the large corner sofa couch shown in the photos, which looks lovely and comfortable. Its a very hard uncomfortable sofa couch, which has bars and springs digging into you each night. So we were very dissatisfied with this. Having said that, it was the only disappointment in our condo. We booked it through Waikiki Beach Rentals and they were great to deal with, making it very easy. The first two numbers (11) is floor level and 26 room number. The location was fantastic, easy access walk way down to lagoon and beach, which we used daily. And an easy walk, either towards Ala Moana Shopping centre or the other way towards Waikiki Beech for shopping and dinning. Staff at reception and bag counter were all friendly and helpful. Lots of cool little shops around the Foyer, with locally sourced products for sale. I would definitely stay here again.
I booked a condo through aloha vacations paid deposit checked reviews all mixed there were going to be myself husband two younger daughters 20 and 21 who were bridesmaids then my other daughter announced coming leaving children with husband as no money for everyone so we asked about larger room that would take 5 they changed us no problem I have submitted review for them separately. We chose 2108 which faced the harbour we arrived early the concierge said to.go up as believed the previous ones had gone which was great we were on the 21st floor. Codes to get in no need for keys or cards which is great as 5 of us all doing different things. First impression was the reception entrance valet parking waterfalls lovely shops inside hairdressers massage coffee shop supermarket ice cream parlour and a couple of others we went up to our room found was a beautiful studio kitchenette with large fridge freezer microwave coffee perculator oven all the utensils you could want bathroom shower over bath and sink and mirror two double beds and a sofa that turned into double bim when 5 of you a lille cramped but who spends time in room. The lanai well it was amazing the views were beautiful and the sunset amazing the pictures we took were the most amazing I have seen. There was a pool which provided towels for you kids and adults clean but relatively small considering sized complex however with the beautiful beach a stone's throw away does it matter there was another pool 2nd floor which was a dip pool not deep but chairs in the water to lay on smaller kids here but not many and the sun more up there. I cannot say how relaxing this holiday complex was everything in walking distance. There are alot of homeless people camping out further up on the beach parades but they tend to keep themselves to themselves and I did not feel unsafe hope this review helps
My friend and i stayed in the hotel part and it was very nice. The full kitchen was awesome and not something you find often and the lounge pool was where we spent most of our time. It really had everything we needed only thing is the carpets and couch were a bit dirty and could use a clean.
