Checked into the room and was shocked at the state. Walls were stained, carpets dirty, tub cracked and the AC makes such a noise I have no idea how I'm going to sleep tonight. I will be checking out tomorrow and moving to a better place.
Great Location very close to Hong Kong convention center, The accommodation was very small, bathroom very crunchy- no space. All the furniture and facilities very old needs renovation. No smoking rooms in the hotel, No restaurant or Bar. Very run down property will not recommend to any friends
This is a nice basic little hotel right in the centre of Wan Chai. There is nothing flash about it but the rooms are very clean, air conditioned, and good wifi. The staff are helpful and the room rate was very reasonable (for HK). The area is very convenient for the races, Wan Chai street markets, Rugby stadium & Lockhart Rd Bars. The only negatives would be the hotel does not do room service food/drinks or breakfast (not a big deal as there is lots of 24 hr food around) & laundry service was very expensive. Also it took AGES for them to release the security deposit back to my credit card after I had left. Would definately stay here again, just pay cash for your security deposit.
Good value for money at this location. A small hotel with very good location on Hennessy road just between the Wanchai and Causeway Bay MTR station. The wifi was good in the lobby and in the room.Rooms are adequate size, although rooms are relatively clean, could really need a deep renovation as are very old (so don't expect miracles of cleanliness in old rooms needing renovation), carpet was very old and with stains, white walls are also full of stains by users use. The tv was old with screen already damaged with white zone and reception was really bad (Tv in room was bad they would be better don't have it in the room)… The staff is fine and effective.
The Walden is aged, the room we stayed in needs a fresh coat of paint, but the linen is fresh, the bathroom very clean and the bed comfy. Staff a bit nonchalant. No BBC or the like on TV (just Chinese soapy style shows). No restaurant, BUT half a block away is a great collection of Chinese restaurants, including the fabulous (and cheap) Dim Dim Sum, so you don't miss in-house food. Room is large enough.
Although it’s a small hotel for it’s footprint, it goes up over 20 floors. Very good location on Hennessy between the Wanchai and Causeway Bay station. Rooms are adequate. I’ve stayed there for just under 500 a night and for Hong Kong this is a good deal as the room is big enough. The internet connection is good. The only draw back is the TV is only showing local channel (Pearl TV), I don’t it would be a big deal to add some international channels… Anyway the staff is fine, not over-enthousiastic when you ask for something but ok.
There was no way to get WiFi in my room. They give you the code, it works in the lobby, but absolutely no signal in the room. Rest is old but acceptable given the price, but internet is not a detail in 2016. Pathetic.
Went to HK for 3 days, since everything is so expensive in HK, the room we stayed was probably worth it. Its pretty convenient to go anywhere, staffs are helpful. Im not a picky person but I cant say the room is very clean, there are many stains in the room and the bathroom door couldnt close well, bathroom is ok, could be cleaner. If you are not too picky and want to stay in a cheap hotel near to everything this might be the one.
I have to review with mixed feelings this hotel is at the cheap end of the market some thing were not used ( not snobs ) no space to hang your clothes in wardrobe 6 hangers for a weeks stay for two, holes in chair fabric, bed awful lumpy and uncomfortable carpet seems dirty and old but on the other hand you get what you pay for if your looking for a budget hotel for a couple of days it's fine it's in the centre with good transport links and good restaurants near by
This hotel is a total dump, my parents are here visiting me and have booked the room for the last remaining 7days, I'm totally shocked at how bad it is, the walls are very badly marked, the bed is awful, the carpet has stains and the chair in bedroom has holes all over it, this is more like a cheap hostel rather then a hotel. There are plenty more hotels in the surrounding area that will cost the same and in far better condition, please look around before booking here it truly is a horrible hotel
