This review is mainly about the customer service we received at the hotel. Sandra and Sofie at the front desk were extremely helpful and accommodating. They were responsive to our needs and were very friendly. Not hard to tell they both put their hearts into the job, and that hotel guests matter to them. The housekeepers were also wonderful. We had one incident with other hotel guests not offloading their finished laundry. A housekeeper was kind enough to step in and help with the situation. We had a problem with other guests eating durian in their room. The whole floor ended up smelling like durian and the smell permeated into our bathroom. Would be nice if the hotel would be “durian-free”. As far as the condition of the rooms, yes I noticed mildew in the bathroom but that’s very typical in Hong Kong given the humidity, even with AC going 24/7. Also, knowing I booked a 4 star hotel, I wouldn’t go in with the unrealistic expectation that it provides the amenities of a 5-star premise. We could hardly hear any noise from the outside so we had many nights of good sleep. The internet connection was a bit slow, though. We wonder if there’s a way to pay for an upgraded connection. “You get what you paid for” is the saying. I paid for a 3.5-4 star accommodation, and the premises delivered at that level. Nonetheless, the customer service was certainly better than many top-notch hotels we have stayed at. Thank you for making our stay so seamless and comfortable.

Local TV channels doesn’t work during my stay, cleanliness is poor, especially appeared in the bathroom, many little flies appeared in bathroom, Very strong smell of cigarettes. The Gym is outside the hotel. Network connection is poor, not suitable for business stay. Moreover, When i was making the reservation through the official website, it mentioned the package included the daily breakfast, but after Check-in, the staff reply they no longer provide any breakfast, it's absolutely Violation of the Trade Descriptions Ordinance.

I booked a studio premiere and it was very comfortable and cozy. I had very good sleep on the bed. The air condition was good and adjusts nicely to temperature inputs. The size of the room was good for one person and the microwave and the sink were very useful to have. The handy phone was really very useful as usual. The studio premiere is on the upper floors where there is only 2 rooms on the entire floor and it feels very private indeed. The sweeping windows gave a vast vantage. Not really top rated views but not bad. The staff were all very good: from Sandra at the reception to the housekeeper who was an absolute dear. Everyone was jovial and helpful. The room is beginning to show its age. There were marks on the white walls around the sofa. The shower was leaking quite a fair bit. There is no longer a gym in the hotel although guests can go to a fitness club across the road from the hotel, but the old convenience is lost especially during adverse weather. I can't do my early morning runs as that club opens at 7am earliest. Breakfast used to be included in the rate but it's not now. I don't recall seeing a breakfast option when I was booking with them. The reception very kindly offered to buy something for me on their own accord but I managed on my own. Like some people who mentioned here, the local tvb channels could not be received although the foreign channels were available. But all tv reception will be temporarily lost for awhile when a storm comes along. I still like the location of the hotel and may return if the rate is good. There are no short of good options in the area.

I stayed here 4 years ago, but seems not much has been maintained since. Stayed 6 nights. Room smelt of stale smoke on my arrival, and at times could smell smoke in the hallway outside even though it's a non-smoking hotel. Carpet old, towels old and frayed, ripped on edges. Air-conditioning was terrible, fluctuating between extreme cold and heat 24 hours a day - we woke up many times every night from sweating or freezing. No local Chinese channels available. These points led to a 3-star rating, but was dropped to 2-stars as I returned one day to find my brand new full white shoes stained with milk tea (the cleaners must've spilt the near empty cups in the bin), and while the hotel is great to book us a jumbo taxi to HK city check-in, the price was a steep hk$160 (I understand it's our choice to pay that price, but jumbos are very hard to catch on street). All in all, quite disappointed and will need to find another place for upcoming visits.

Well located hotel in Tin Hau (close to Causeway Bay). The location has many Chinese restaurants and close to the MTR and free H3 bus service from Airport Express. The rooms are now becoming a bit worn with use and soft furnishings looking tired/dirty. Air conditioning is poor in all the rooms I have stayed in - loud and blows were it should not.-- uncomfortable at night. Poor selection of plates and bowls and utensils and now no longer offers a breakfast on site. Limited local options for a cheap western breakfast.

This was my first stay in Hong Kong. The Somerset Victoria Park was very easy to reach from HK Airport - A ride on the Airport Express to HK Station, then a free shuttle bus (#3) let us off three doors down from the hotel. Check in was a snap. Ryan, behind the front desk, spoke flawless English and was very helpful. He recommended where to find good restaurants nearby, and also lots of other tips and suggestions over the span of our stay in Hong Kong. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. There was a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom was spacious. The hotel is just four blocks from the metro, with very easy access to all parts of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

When I visited HK ,I was there for almost a month and had stayed in a few different hotels. Somerset was one of the hotel that I had heard about and been trying to book a room in the past few trips in HK. This time I finally got a room! The room was in good size, good lay out with a small "kitchenette". There was no pots and pans or dishes anymore, it was in the old day. The hotel had good bone but it was running down! The room was smelly, I guessed it was from the dirty rug in the room, the wall need a good print job. The TV reception was poor, there was no Chinese channel too?! Towels were old and ripped. On some booking site, Somerset was a 4 star hotel but I would take one off!

We scored a great rate in the Somerset, and it is a good value stay in a residential area. Service: Minimal interactions with the staff since we are only staying for a couple of hours before our morning flight back. Room: Extremely clean and quiet. Pillows are just too soft and flat though. Location: Loved the location of this property in Tin Hau - lots of food choices in a peaceful residential area. This is not a 5 star luxury property so do have the right expectations.

Pro Good location - A11 airport bus get off at Gordon Road and 2 minutes walk to the hotel. It is in a local residential area slightly off the main tourist sites but MTR station is less than 5 minutes away (tram, buses are nearby as well). Room - a little small but clean and adequate. Come with a fridge and microwave. 3 units per floor so no big tour group around. It was quiet during our stay. Housekeeping and front desk - responsive and friendly Washer and Dryer - 3 washers/dryers on 2nd floor - all free incl. detergent. Handy phone - one per room. We used it as a hotspot. Okay Bed - on the harder side and pillows were kind of soft (but we could sleep well). One side of the bed started to sag - a rotation of the mattress is needed. Washer/Dryer - No instruction on how to operate the washer and dryer (one wash cycle takes hours to finish and most of the dryer settings won't dry your clothes. If you want to dry your clothes set the timer to 40 min) Breakfast - HKD 75 for breakfast and choices were quite limited. Elevator - Need the door card to operate. The reader was temperamental during our stay and took a while to read my card. Con Bathroom - in general it was good but the bottom of the shower room between the glass and tiles had mildew and probably mold. This area should be cleaned regularly. Shower room door could not be closed completely so water splashed outside the shower room.

it was the second time to stay in the property (the 4th time around the Asia), i truly enjoy the property and also impressed that the breakfast had been served since i never expected, the FO, HSKP was doing great job and i will love to stay again
