Silka West Kowloon Hotel

A good option to staying on Hong Kong island. Very close to Olympic station with good connections to Airport Express. Ideal for non-first time visitors to Hong Kong as it gave me the opportunity to explore some of the New Territories. Many restaurants close by. Room was small, but functional-typical Hong Kong. My 17th floor room had city and Harbour views.

Pros Location: right between Mongkok & Olympic station (~10 min walk) Price: pretty affordable for a new and nice looking hotel Staff: very friendly Space: great use of space for the usual tiny HK hotels Cons Room design had serious flaws that took away from the overall experience They offered a free phone to use while you're in HK but it didn't work Free WiFi but didn't work Bathroom door not designed well and easily slammed (and worst of all...) Shower design was terrible. No matter how you showered the floor the rest of the bathroom floor would get soaked. If you're tall like my brother (6 feet), your feet will hang off the bed Outlets are all behind a table so you had to move the furniture if you wanted to charge anything. On the plus side they had a transformer so you could use the outlet once you get to it.

I stayed here for 6 nights, not much expectation for this price. One very important thing need to say, the bath tub is very slippery, better watch out when you taking a shower in there.

This Hotel is always a Great place to stay when I am in Kowloon. The Olympic subway station is within walking (5 min) distance. Staff is very helpful and curious. Shopping and food is in every direction around this hotel location.

The hotel was at a great location, staff was very courteous and helpful. The bed was hard as described in many of the reviews, but tolerable. I will stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times over this past year and can always count on a very friendly staff and good service. My room is always clean comfortable.

Room a bit small. Should provide bottle water. The transportation is excellent. Even better to let people on and off each stop.

Good enough hotel for the location/proximity and the price for multiple nights.

far from city centre, small room , old facilities, the only advantage is less expensive

This hotel is in Kowloon Hong Kong in a very busy area, the only draw back to this hotel is that the rooms are very small for 2 people, the beds are very small and very very hard, if you have a back problem then this hotel will be OK for you, lots of local restaurants around the corner from the hotel, the hotel staff are very friendly and willing to give you directions, in my opinion this hotel is a little overpriced we stayed at this hotel for 2 days then moved to a different hotel where the room were much bigger.

Great staff. Okay value. Small rooms. Non-smoking rooms only have single beds. Breakfast was below standards that was expected.

Good stay. Everything is within walking distance including the MTR.

its a great place to stay with lots of shopping and food places near by to eat and a lot more to explore, its fun to be in the area and walk around

GREAT PLACE TO STAY AND CONVENIENT LOCATION. GOOD SHORT WALK FROM SHOPPING AREAS AND EATING PLACES

Great Locatio as just few minutes walk from MTR station. Staff is great and helpful. Room is good and tidy though very compact. You may get all stuff you around around the area. 20 minutes walk to Mong Kok is one of reason to book this hotel.

the room was what i expected. small but had everything i needed. it's clean with big windows so making the room visually bigger than it actually is. the location is convenient and the price was very affordable.

This was my second times staying. It was very good and clean. I didn't give 5 stars becauce there is not much of the hanging closet. It has around 20 inches wide for you to hand your closthes. It has just enough to hand 2 small jackets. But the price is very reasonable so it compensates the small space. So don't bring too much to stay in this hotel.

The hotel is really near to the subway station and it is very convenient to go anywhere. The staff is really responsive to my needs. Room is exceptionally clean and has a great view of the city.

The hotel was very close to the MTR Line which made it easier to get around Kowloon and Hong Kong. Also it was near Olympic City and made shopping that much better.

Overall a nice clean hotel in a good location. Since I travelled alone, the small room (and it is small) did not bother me. Most important was a good location, not too far from the shopping marks, and close to many places to eat. If you are over 5'8, the short bed size might cause a problem
