The staff was nice and the and bed was clean. However I must be in a room where the boiler/heater room is. There’s a door connected to my room and there is some “clicking “ noises coming from it. Not constantly but enough to make me nervous I will sleep with tv on

The staff are all wonderful people Laura with the beautiful smile took excellent care of me in the restaurant. The wood brick oven and the friendly pizza chef put out a delicious pie.

Quaint and charming, the decor was reminiscent of a bed and breakfast. The staff are friendly and casual, like family. The only real negative is the elevator didn't work when it was time to leave and the desk wasn't staffed, so no help was available.

Appreciated being able to check in early, but room was not cleaned well. Smelled like smoke and bed was missing sheets and pillowcases. Elevator seemed to be on its last leg and we were advised not to use it by staff (seemed a little odd)

This was our third time staying here and it was pleasant as always. Will continue to stay there when in the area

The owners have done a magnificent job of renovating this hundred and fifty year old hotel. It was a beauty in its day and it has been returned to that splendor. Everything about the place is comfortable. You can't sit on the balcony overlooking the courtyard without imagining the Pomp and Circumstance this place once had. There are still a few things they need to address like a slow elevator, but of the nearly 10,000 nights I've spent in a hotel this was one of the most enjoyable.

Although they had an AC issue that made the room quite warm and uncomfortable, it's obvious that they are working to correct the problem and were very accommodating. The rooms are quaint, the building is very old and interesting, the dining area for the free breakfast is light and bright with a nice view. I would definitely go back there - it had a B&B atmosphere. The restaurant/tavern was quite popular, though I didn't go in so can't attest to the food.

We stayed right after the hotel switched owners and managers. I don't know what others have experienced in the past, but the new owners are committed to providing both an excellent stay as well as excellent service and responsiveness, It is unfortunate that the past owners allowed the restaurant to close as it is a very beautiful part of the hotel. But the new owners were working diligently to have it reopened as quickly as possible. The hotel itself is very old and wonderful. I wouldn't change a thing about the room itself or the lobby and other common areas. The bathrooms could use and update but it was still pleasant enough and very usable. Even though the restaurant is temporarily closed, there are lots of choices close by so you wont go hungry. There is an ample continental breakfast served daily so that meal is more than covered. If you're in the area, stop by and check it out. It's definitely worth a stay. I can't wait to return as soon as possible.

Rather disappointing really. We thought there was an in house restaurant where we could grab a bite to eat. But in fact the restaurant had been closed for quite awhile. The pictures made it look very inviting when we booked it online. But once we checked into our room it was a bit run down, no Fridge in the room and you needed glasses to watch TV the flatscreen was so small.

This is an old Inn, full of character. The furnishings reflect a bygone era, but are clean and comfortable. The hot water comes up slowly, but is HOT and plentiful. Located near numerous Amish shops, farms, and antique stores.

We had a fantastic stay and it was wonderful looking out the window of the historic old Inn. The decor was tasteful the bed was comfortable. The Hotel was clean, the windows even opened and there was a door to the outside that you could go out onto the balcony and look down at the covered Amish wagons going through town. We got there a little late so we were too late for dinner at the awesome looking resturaunt at the Inn and had to drive into Morgantown PA -nothing was open after nine except for the Walmart. It happens. Great place to stay.

Parking wasn't the best. Room was small. Booked a Queen Bed, got a Db bed.

Thank you for your review. Yes we had a problem with the elevator Sunday morning. With housekeeping and management in the building and on call we where aware of the problem quickly. We had the technician in the building before 1p and he was able to fix it immediately. With only 20 rooms at the Inn we do not have the front desk maned all the time. Notification at the front desk and on our key cards directs our guests to dial the house phone # 24/7 for any requests. This old building can be temperamental some times especially or vintage Westinghouse elevator. It is very safe, licensed and inspected. We apologize for the inconvenience. Cliff Hotel Mgr

It is certainly a slow moving process to make all of the fixes but we will get there. Thank you for your kind words and we look forward to having you back if you're ever in the area again!
