The location cannot be beat. The view is fantastic. There was a hotel workers strike going on starting at 6am and lasting to 6pm. It was a horrible way to wake up after traveling 12 hours to get there. There is a lot of construction going on too. The people who are there are all fantastic but it was expensive for construction and walking through drums for 12 hours. And waking up to organized chaos at 6am.
Paid for a room with view but got only view of a house across the street, don't buy this option. Very nice personal, very clean hotel. Food in the restaurant has very few choices
Terrible hotel, they charge to much for what they offer.
With so many options for hotels and neighborhoods to stay in LA, I had to make a quick pick for a weekend stay. Knowing that W Hotels are always a safe bet, I chose to stay at W Hollywood. What a disappointment. The rooms are not updated, the bathrooms are stained and there was a massive clump of hair in the shower drain when we arrived. Known for their 'get you anything anytime' service, I asked for a simple antacid at the front desk and they were less than helpful. Didn't even offer to see what they could do to find something. The lobby of this hotel is grand and impressive for 1987 but needs a major refresh. Overall, if you are looking for a super basic hotel in Hollywood, this may suffice. But with amount of options in LA, I won't be staying there again. Do not recommend.
Not worth the cost and not the stress free vacation I was hoping for. Vagrants came in and threatened my friend as she was going into the elevator. Security should be there 24/7 as it's right by the metro and the environment simply requires it. The communication was also unacceptable. No mention of pool events that required a 500$ charge to stay in the bed ($1000 for the cabana, $400 for a sofa lol) that I woke up early to have - a 3rd party event coordinator basically stole 50$ from me saying it was a deposit to the 500$ minimum - this was NOT the case. The hotel did nothing but suggest I dispute it with the bank. No mention of holds on cc I checked in with, no mention that there wouldn't be maid service - I am a very understanding person. If everything is told to me up front, no problem. The shock and surprises for 400$ a night is NOT OK. That being said...The view from the roof, the pool and when we had access to the pool - free as a high paying guest, was actually great. That's it. Don't waste your time and money here. **forgot to mention, they charge you for shoddy wifi too**
Loved all the decor, bars and seating places. Loved the roof top pool. Didn't like that the pool was closed at 5 for a special event. And hated to be charged to use wifi for a day 14.95
Excellent staff! Very pleasant and accommodating! Please fix elevators, thank you!
Microwaves in room. For reheating food and cooling drinks
Wasn’t happy left shower to run down stairs with alarm on and bury my knee and ankle in stair case and the whole experience wasn’t just feeling it
I didn’t like the fact u get no fridge or microwave
Very good Property. they allowed me to check in way early at no extra charge. Very courteous staff
