We spent 10 nights at this hotel and it truly was a wonderful experience. It's not expensive to stay there either. The Nhi Nhi hotel is located a 10 minute walk away from the tourist area of Hoi An. A quaint hotel where its size is smaller that the photos suggest, but the overall ambience was fantastic and provided everything our group needed. Our rooms were spacious albeit a little outdated and were cleaned everyday with clean towels shampoo, combs , etc etc . The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and anything we needed they would try to provide or give advice as to where to buy. In particular a young lady called Thuy, who I think is the manageress and had a very good command of English went out of her way to ensure our holiday was perfect. A truly dedicated group whose sole objective seems to make your stay in Hoi An a most enjoyable experience. We were a party of four with 2 rooms on the first floor that had a balcony overlooking a small indoor pool. Access to our rooms was via the central staircase as there is no elevator. Our rooms had bath tub/shower, fridge kettle etc and a king size bed with water, coffee and tea provided each day for your early morning brew. Following that, the complimentary breakfasts were great, setting one up for the day, with just the evening meal to think about. Whilst the hotel had a good menu we went out each day either touring the town, shopping or visiting the beach. The beach is about a $US4 taxi ride away. Each time we arrived back a the hotel we were greeted with a cold face towel and a glass of cold water, a very thoughtful and much appreciated gesture. If one does not eat at the hotel I can recommend that you stay away from the tourist area as there are hundreds of restaurants in the town that have very similar menus at a much cheaper price. We made some great friends of the owners of these restaurants and it is amazing how much one can learn about the culture of the Vietnamese who are truly nice people. The only bad experience we had in one of these restaurants was when a snake decided to make an entrance throwing the place into chaos. All ended okay though when one of the staff caught it and took him outside and released it without harm. Also beware that many of the banks only deal in the major currencies. I live in the Philippines and took Pesos which no banks there would change. Money changers would only give 50% of the true exchange rate. Luckily I had my Visa card with me and got money from the ATMs at a really good rate. This is what I recommend. Finally when buying in the night or day markets barter for everything starting off at 50% of what is being asked and you normally end up doing a deal close to that.
The hotel is located just outside the historic center of Hoi An. It is somewhat smaller than one might think from the photos on its website. The small lobby gives directly onto the restaurant/breakfast area which gives directly onto the small pool. Our group had three rooms. Two rooms were quite fine, one with a window and balcony onto the street. The third room had no window and smelled musty. We requested a room change, and the staff quickly found us a room on the same floor with a window and balcony onto the pool. I enjoyed reading on the balcony in the late afternoon since the hotel interior courtyard and pool has lovely hanging plants. The rooms are air-conditioned but the public areas are not. Breakfast was fine; in addition to helping oneself at the buffet, one can order hot dishes from a staff member. For a reasonable fee, the staff arranged the hotel’s van to drive our group of four from Hoi An to Da Nang for our international flight.
This hotel is a wee gem the staff are great the hotel is handy to everything and its great value for money. The rooms are clean and well maintained . I have been back 2 times and will go back again on my next trip. Thanks so much for a fabulous stay. Steve Carter
We spent 6 nights at this hotel and it truly was a wonderful experience. It's not expensive to stay here, short walking distance to the old town. Rooms spacious and old fashioned but in a good way room cleaned everyday. Indoor pool is lovely and well looked after. We had a balcony but check you have booked one, enjoyed sitting out on it at night. Breakfast had a huge variety and plenty of it but leaving the best til last the staff at this hotel are wonderful will do everything possible to make your stay one to remember we will definitely be back as this was our favourite location home away from home. Now there was one lady called Thuy who went above and beyond she has excellent English and always has a smile on her face but all the ladies were friendly and helpful
I would like to thank the friendly staff from Nhi Nhi Hotel, for making my stay in beautiful Hoi An a most enjoyable experience. The first floor room with a balcony overlooking the pool was an added bonus. Complimentary breakfasts were great and there was always more if you wanted. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to quaint hotel that is very handy to the old town and restaurants precinct. Tull.
For sure are very friendly and helpful staff and excellent service. It is certainly one of our nice stay during our Vietnam tour (3 week) . Excellent choice!!! Clean, charming and very good located hotel. P.S : There is one lady (staff) who sings very well a song named : quảng bình quê ta ơi :)
Stayed for 4 days at a visit to charming Hoi An. It's af fine place - not luxury - but fine for someone like me. Rooms were a little run down. Breakfast was fine. There was a restaurant - but not used very much by people stay at the hotel. One night it was closed. No problem - you have all kinds of choices for eating in the Hoi An - Old Town - just a few minute walk away on a very busy street. Wi-fi was fine - all people at the hotel very friendly - as everywhere you go in Vietnam. There's a pool - I didn't try that.
Our room was a quiet one as requested at the back of the hotel with old style decor and furnishings but comfortable and clean. Breakfast is not buffet style but ordered from a menu which ensures that food always arrives hot, fresh from the kitchen. It is a few hundred yards from the centre and can arrange tours and trips. The outstanding feature of this little place is, like its sister hotel in Da Nang, the charming courtesy and attention to detail of the staff who greet you when you come and go and seem genuinely interested in you not as mere tourists but to coin a hackneyed phrase "honoured guests" something which is sadly lacking in many Western establishments. Apart from this the hotel offers excellent value for money. As a quite separate issue I was surprised at being challenged or more euphemistically invited to buy an entrance ticket to Hoi An old town at one of the many official ticket booths which are dotted around the town. My understanding was that entrance to the town was free and that you bought a ticket only if you wanted to visit some museums but apparently I was wrong. Officially speaking the ticket is valid for one day, at least that is what is written on it under what one could loosely call t & c, so if you stay there for five days as we did you could be made to pay up five times. When I queried this with one attendant she assured me that the ticket allowed unlimited access to the town, but to play safe after the first day we avoided the booths to avoid any possible misunderstandings. Not a big deal perhaps but I thought you might like to know that you could be pounced on quite frequently!
This would have been one of the most pleasant hotels we, 4 of us were travelling together, have stayed in on our trip to Viet Nam. From the time we arrived, Thuy, Trang, Giang, Linh & Hiee, until we left we were treated like family. Always a pleasant greeting and smile, nothing was to much trouble. When we arrived back at hotel from touring there was a cold face towel and a glass of cold water, small things, but muchly appriecated. Room were of a good size and clean, all over looking the pool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates being treat like family
Good value hotel, a short distance from the Old Town with about 20 rooms and a pretty swimming pool in the central courtyard. The staff are friendly and attentive. You can borrow bikes for only 35000 dong a day. Breakfasts are included and include Vietnamese and more Western options. It's lovely being greeted by a cold glass of water and chilled flannel
