AMAZING Staff and really nice place! I'll go back again for sure!

Instead superior room gave Junior deluxe sity view)

From check in to check out staff was very friendly, English speaking. Upgraded our room at no charge. Breakfast was very good

Great breakfast from 6 to 10 each day. The selection was much better than I expected. I ate sso much at breakfast that I was able to save quite a bit on food. The room was rather small and cramped but still comfortable. Wifi worked fine. The staff was very helpful. The location is great. It is right in the center of town, one-half block from the well-known Ben Thanh Market. You can also arrange tours from the hotel lobby. The only problem I had was in the bathroom. There appeared to be a water leakage from the toilet. Also, the shower facilities seem to date back to the era when Vietnam was a French colony. Therefore, the mechanism for turning the shower on and getting hot and cold water took a while to figure out. Also, climbing in and out of the tub was difficult due to its structural design. Don't try it if you're handicapped. Overall I will stay here again if I ever return to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

I've had a goal to get to Saigon ever since I saw the movie Full Metal Jacket, so this trip meant a great deal to me. This hotel was amazing!!! The staff was great, convenient location and for the $$$ you could not beat it!

Stay here in May 2014 and the Hotel is near Ben Thanh market which is great for bargains. There is a Coffee Bean near the hotel. Breakfast is provided which is tasty. There a roof top bar which has stunning view at night. I would stay here again if coming to Ho Chi Minh.

We enjoyed our stay for several reasons but mainly the location - half a block from the markets yet very quiet. The room was OK - the shower fitting ont he wall was upside down but they fixed that immediately. The breakfast is typical buffet but well prepared. The only down side is there is no bar facility where you could just sit and relax - it isn't relaxing having a drink in an empty restaurant at 1500.

Great staff service and the room was very clean. Breakfast was great .

Good deal, hotel is next to the market and in central location

Nice clean hotel with generous staff. I would stay here again when visiting HCMC.

Perfect location for my trip. Easy access to restaurant, market, groceries, night activities and short distance to other major attractions in the city. Hotel services and room's comfort are the best I have received for the price. Kudo to Khac Duy for going out of his way to ensure we have the best room, check in and check out services. I have stayed at numerous hotel in this city throughout the years from 5* to 3*, but this 3* hotel beats other 4* hotels on major categories. Will stay again on my next trip and definitely recommend to friends and family members.

I stayed there 4 nights with my girlfriend and had an amazing time. This is the hotel you need if you're fed up with backpackers but don't want to spend too much in a fancy hotel. You got the fancy without the expensive price. Although the room was very small and with no view (view to another building), it was the only cons to this stay. The breakfast is very good and various, you have the choice between a vietnamese style (pho, noodles or rice) , american (sausage, eggs) and "european" (bakeries). There is also fresh fruit juices. The staff is always there when needed maybe too much ^^ (there's really no need to have doors openers men ^^) and very polite. The location is perfect, very close to 2 markets selling amazing food, souvenirs, groceries etc... Perfect value for money.

Stayed 3 nights as part of a week long vacation to Vietnam. The hotel is located right across from a busy park and adjacent to the Ben Thanh Market. It is also located in touristy District 1 which is close (long walk or short taxi ride) to most major attractions (i.e. Unification Palace, War Remnants Museum). The hotel looks like it was recently renovated. Rooms were clean but small, no real view eventhough there was a window. The shower area was designed poorly (tub inserted into shower stall so water escapes the tub if you use the shower as an actual shower), but at least had good water pressure. Free internet computers (5) in lobby, and free wifi in rooms. Hotel also has spa service which we did not use. Overall, it is a 3-star establishment in good condition, very good service, standard ammenities, average breakfast (did not have any other meals there). Not bad considering we paid $47 USD (incl tax) for a 1-king bed room, and $60 USD (incl tax) for a 3 person room [breakfast included]. Location: right in tourist area ($6-7 USD from airport via taxi) Service: very good (agents speak reasonably good english; were helpful; did not feel rushed) Tour desk: provides tour options and help with restaurants Food: breakfast buffet is passable (mixture of asian and non-asiam fare); pho and omelette station

The hotel was nice, the room comfortable although it didn't have a view (the window faced a blank wall). The spa is good too. The breakfast buffet wasn't very good in my opinion, although they do offer a very varied menu.

Nice hotel, good location, rather clean. The problem is I wanted a room with a single large bed, they claim they only had rooms in my class with twins left. They offered to push them together or let me pay to upgrade to a better room. Every other hotel in the world I've ever visited has always comped the upgrade when they didn't have what I reserved.

I was in Saigon the previous week at another hotel that was half the price, went up north to Haiphong, then decided to return to Saigon. Wanting to try a different hotel for a slightly higher price, I checked on [...] (where I've booked hotels and trips in the past and have been very satisfied) and found the Tan Hai Long which was in the same neighborhood as my previous hotel. The photos looked good and the reviews were positive so I booked two rooms for two nights - one room for me, another for my friend and his wife who were traveling with me. The Tan Hai Long (THL) turned out to be an excellent hotel that was satisfactory in every way. The next time I go to Saigon, I will definitely stay at the Tan Hai Long. I told this to the people at the reception desk because I was so satisfied with every aspect of this hotel. Specifically: 1) the location - conveniently located on a busy main thoroughfare (no long wait for taxis as there are many zooming by) near the famous Ben Tham market and about six stores from the famous Pho 2000 Restaurant where President Clinton ate on his well-publicized trip to Vietnam. 2) the price - because the hotel was re-opening after its remodeling, the price offered online was a great discount. My friends stayed an extra night and had to pay more than the online rate, but it was still very much worth the price. I'm guessing the next time I go, the price will be higher because there will not be a special re-opening offer, but I will still stay at the Tan Hai Long because I like the hotel so much. 3) the quality of the room - clean, light wood paneling throughout the room, big double bed with clean sheets and comfortable pillows, an in-room safe for your valuables, free internet access, easy-to-use phone system with reasonable phone rates, spacious bathroom with fresh towels and a working shower (my other hotel had a faulty shower), there was even a live plant on the bathroom counter, a nice decorative touch that I appreciated and had not seen in any of the hotels on this trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and China. 4) the staff - friendly, smartly dressed in their Vietnamese garments, accommodating, attractive and they spoke English! I had a hard time communicating with workers at the previous hotel, trying to get information on sightseeing and trying to get a receipt the day I checked out. The Tan Hai Long had a printed receipt immediately upon payment of my bill, something I would expect from a hotel in the states. 4) good laundry service - I needed two shirts to be laundered, turned it in Sunday afternoon and they were ready Monday morning, $2 total. 5) very satisfactory food service - the breakfast (included in the room price) was a feast - Vietnamese beef soup, vegetable salad bar, cooked vegetables, breakfast meats, bread and French rolls, breakfast meats, fried noodles and fried rice, dumplings. There is also 24 hour food/room service which was convenient for late night snacking; the previous hotel did not have this amenity and I had to go wandering dark streets late at night when I was hungry. 6) there is a Circle K convenience store about five shops to the right when you exit the hotel that has an ATM machine so you don't have to walk far to a bank if you need money. 7) the hotel spa had terrific discounts (because of the re-opening) that we would have taken advantage of if we had the time. 8) the hotel has about 10 steps from the street up to the main floor but the efficient bellmen are there to help carry luggage for you. 9) the only minor non-positive comment is there is no view as the hotel is sandwiched between other buildings, but that was not important as everything else at the Tan Hai Long was totally satisfactory and pleasing. This was a remarkable find of a hotel. Thank you, Orbitz!

Friendly staff. Can't stress this enough. Everyone always helped you with a smile. I would go back just for that.

My family and I had a long flight to Vietnam. Thanks god the hotel was located on a main street just across from a nice park and was easy to find. If it was not for the helpful reception, we would not have found all those great shopping location and excellent places to get. thanks again everyone at the hotel for being so nice and friendly

The same thing happened to me that I have been seeing in other reviews on line. I came to the hotel and they put me in a tiny room with no windows. Very claustrophobic. The next day I requested a better room and they took me to another location, the Tan Hai Long Hotel No. 3. This hotel was not clean, the breakfast buffet was in a dirty hallway and all in all this was not the hotel or the room I had ordered. Very disappointing. I ended up leaving on the 21st and forfeiting 5 nights that had already been paid for--I asked for a refund but it was denied. I would never again stay at this hotel, and the star rating given by Orbitz was a joke. And across the street they are building a huge high rise building. Hammering and noise 24/7.

For the price that I paid for this room, compared to the budget places in Vietnam, the value was lacking. Yes, the room was much nicer (not a concern for me), but the service needed improvement. I would have missed my return flight had I not set my own watch - I asked for two wakeup calls - neither arrived. I even called before I went to bed to confirm my calls, and they acted like I had never asked to begin with (not a good sign). I did not experience this problem at any other hotels or hostels in Vietnam or Cambodia, all of which cost me a fraction of the price I paid here. I would have expected amazing and attentive service for the extra cost.
