I guess that I was not as impressed with the A&EM Corner Saigon Hotel as some of the other reviewers. The room was OK, but I was expecting more for a hotel at this price point in HCMC. The location was fine - very near the market. And the wifi worked well. The shower/bath combination was a bit disappointing. I booked an upgraded room that advertised a whirlpool-style bath. The bath fixtures were rather old, and the "jets" did not really do much. I had a room on one of the lower floors, and could hear the sound from the bar (with live entertainment) below. I might recommend that future visitors request a room on a higher floor. I had a very early checkout (to catch a 6am flight), and had to wake up the desk receptionist to process my checkout. That did not concern me, as I have done that before in HCMC. But I guess I was a little bit disappointed that there was no offer to get a taxi for me - I wound up walking up the block to a taxi stand to find my ride to the airport. Overall, it is not a bad hotel, but it certainly did not match my expectations for a hotel at this price in this city. I would rate it as "ok."
My stay here was a extremely pleasant, room was great with sufficient closet space. Hotel is walking distance from all the main destinations around Ho Chi. Rooftop pool is enjoyable with a view of city. Breakfast on the top floor is superb. Best part of the hotel is the Lamenda Cafe: great drinks and LIVE music. The hotel Mgr. HAI was extremely helpful and made sure we had what we needed
The hotel is located at the junction. There are many sister hotels nearby. It is also near the Ben Thanh market within walking distance about 200m. There are many shop houses along the streets allowing you to shop, eat, drink and relax and stay the long night long. The hotel also has their restaurant on corner of the ground floor. The lobby is small but with many chairs for you to relax. Behind the counter is the foot massage and the spa on level 4. On this same floor is the well equipped small gym. The breakfast starts at 6.30am, but the staff are busy preparing the layout when we are there after 6.30am. The spread is also limited. Don't know whether the place is so busy after midnight as I heard Vietnamese song till 4am. Disturbing my sleep.
I stayed there once in a premium deluxe and it was a fantastic hotel. Location was second to none. Was thinking on upgrading on my next visit; probably to an Executive Room. May I know if the Executive Room has a bathtub?
Try to get the higher floors for the rooms, location is good for walking around Ho Chi Minh City. Took the suite room which is beside the VIP room. The corridors has a weird smell. Staffs are friendly.
My partner and I had been travelling for 5 weeks in Vietnam in mostly semi budget accommodation. For our last three nights we thought we would treat ourselves to a 4 star hotel. First impressions were good, the place looked nice and was in a good location. Entering the room we instantly saw a much higher standard than what we were used to in our earlier accommodation. Having traveled for several hours to get here I jumped in the shower only to find out that the bathroom door didn't shut and that the shower fixing was loose, not very 4 star. This on its own dos not put me off. I was really looking forward to the buffet breakfast knowing that a more continental option would be available. When I saw sausages, bacon and eggs I was rather pleased. Unfortunately it was all served cold.
The hotel was absolutely fantastic. We really loved the location - with in being so close to the markets and the palace. So many of the dights are in walking distance! The rooms were absolutely gorgeous - a great size with such unique decor. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to wake our stay comfortable and special - a big thank you to them all. The hotel bar and restaurant was a pleasant surprise and has a great atmosphere. The food is superb and the waiters and waitresses again went above and beyond to be accommodating! There is a great range of food at the buffet (better than any other hotel I have stayed in Ho Chi Minh). The roof top pool is incredible with beautiful views of this city. This is the only hotel in Ho Chi Minh that I have felt I want to go back to time and time again - I can't wait for my next trip :)
This is a very good hotel in Vietnam in terms of value for money. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is on one of the top floors with a bit limited selection but by all means very good. I really like the bar/restaurant on ground level where you can sit outside and enjoy your drink and food while watching the busy life in district one go by. Location is good if you aim to stay central in district 1, for me a bit too much tourists but that is what you get anywhere close to Ben Thanh market. One of my favorite hotels in Saigon. Just be aware that some of the rooms are slightly older with lousy beds, I have had to change room a few times based on this but they always accommodate for this.
Good place to stay. Near Ben Than Market. Staff are very friendly. I've been here twice and will definately come back to this hotel again. But there are many A&EM Hotels in this area ( 6 altogether) make sure you got your address right if you ever want to go back by taxi so that the driver will know exactly which A & EM Hotel you stay
This hotel is in District 1 between all the "hot"spots like restaurants and shoppingmalls. The staff is friendly and really helpful. The pool on top of the roof is awesome! The hotel is extremely clean and the breakfast is outstanding. (best breakfast we had in Vietnam) There is a Spa and a Gym so you can workout or chill-out. :) The hotel looks new and is one of the nicest one in the neighborhood.. (as far as we can see from the hotel rooftop :D)
