Room was one of the larger we stayed in, in Japan with two seats and a table offering views out towards the peace memorial. It is located very conveniently to Peace park and dome and lots of little restaurants and bars.
The location is amazing! Other then that I extremely don't recommend. The hotel is definitely in need of remodeling. The AC only spewed hot air when it's close to 60 outside. The pillows are much harder even for Japanese standards. There was 1 outlet for the bed and desk so if you use your phone and laptop good luck. Still have heavy old fashioned keys which I would prefer a credit card sized electronic one. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Japan but for the price this is 100% NOT worth it. An APA or Toyoko Inn for half the price is more modern. This place needs a serious upgrade.
Exactly what to expect from a business hotel and to top it off it is steps from Peace Park and Dome. The hotel has a bar off the lobby that has a small selection of appetizers to accompany your drink. Morning buffet is served on the 15th floor as well as evening dining. Great view in the morning. Our main issue was the room temperature. The AC is not on in November. And they were having unseasonably warm weather. Our room was a sauna. A difficult thing to work around. The next week could be cold and you couldn't have heat. It was my impression, both systems could not be available at the same time. We still had a good stay and would return.
We are currently staying at this Hotel. We are very happy with it but have found the room to be too hot and struggled to get a good nights sleep. It seems that air conditioning is only available in the Summer and right now we can only access the heater. The lowest the temperature available is 18C (feels like 25C) We complained to the reception and the only solution available was to open the window which makes it a bit cooler and a lot noisier.
We stayed for 3 nights, perfect location and beautiful view. Breakfast buffet on 15th floor, view is spectacular. Buffet fair, could have more choices. Right near tram stop for easy access to Hondori and Hiroshima Station, and Chugoku sightseeing bus stop at Peace Memorial Park. Rooms on the smaller side, but standard for Japan.
My Husband and Friends stayed at the Sunroute Hotel for two nights. The Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was really quite small but this didn't matter too much however the over bearing hot temperature of the room made the room uncomfortable. We could only open the window a fraction as the air conditioning wouldn't go below 18 degrees which is far too hot to sleep comfortably in. The room was clean and tidy. There are no safe in the room so we had to put our money passports, electronics in the safe on reception. There is no extra charge for this unless you lose the key to it and then you will be charged. We had breakfast at the hotel which wasn't too bad, beautiful view. I wouldn't stay at the Sunroute again unless the room had better aircon or you could actually open the window wide enough to let some fresh air in. The location was absolutely perfect and not too far from the Bus station to get the Airport shuttle Bus.
I was lucky enough to get an upgrade from the booked “street view” to a river view on the top floor - wow what a view! Room had everything I needed included soft pillows, free wifi and a decent bathroom. Only negative for me was the hotel bar was shut for some reason. This forced me to venture out to the little Okonomi joint next door (Henkutsuya) which in the end was much more fun watching the chefs cook in front of me. As others have said, the hotel is slightly faded but for the price paid I felt it was excellent value. The location is excellent too, right next to the Peace Park and boat jetty to Miyajima. Tram stop Chuden-Mae (No. 1 tram) just around corner about 20 Min ride from train station. Pay 180Y when you GET OFF (board in the middle, get off at the front by the driver).
Perfectly located close to the Peace Park & Bomb Dome this hotel was ideally located for shops, restaurants and the ferry to Miyajima - a must do day trip. Hotel is quiet, very clean and well appointed. If you are looking for a great rock bar then Koba is a 10-15 minute walk. It is quite hard to find so google the address.
Lovely hotel right next to Hiroshima peace park. The rooms were a good size for Japanese standards and it was great that normal easy to use shampoo etc were provided. Pillows could have been a bit comfier but we managed. The breakfast had a good selection of choice too.
Great location! Walking distance to the peace park, to Hon-Dori (Shopping and night center), to the sightseeing bus stop (Free for JR pass holders) and the street car. Good breakfast on the 15th floor with the view. Service– OK: Can't complain but seen better in Japan. Very nice lobby, rooms were better than expected –a little outdated-yes, but comfortable. In general - highly recommended.Ans good value for money.
