We picked this hotel because of its proximity to the peace park and it didn’t disappoint in terms of location. The first room we were checked into smelt very badly of cigarettes (despite it being a non smoking room) but when we raised this with reception they moved us to a fresher room instantly, which we appreciated. The room size was large for Japan, and although the room was a bit dated and probably needed a dusting, our stay was comfortable.
Clean rooms-friendly staff-quiet area an easy walk to the Peace Museum. Easy walk to the hotel from Hondori station. From Hiroshima station I took the JR Kabe Line than changed to the Astramline at Shin-Hakushima station.
A great place for either a short stay or a longer stay, with easy accessibility. It is located literally around the corner of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, which makes it perfect particularly for tourists. There are rooms that have a view over the park, from which you can see even the Atomic Bombe Dome (as we had). Granted, this might not be considered really as a good thing to see form your window, but I was shocked when realising how close this place is to such an important landmark. Leaving this aside, the hotel is extremely clean and very beautiful, and the staff are very nice and helpful. Overall, a great stay, and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Hiroshima.
The hotel Sunroute doesn’t warrant a very good rating for its rooms as there basic and pretty tired. But for location it merits an Excellent Plus. Easy to reach from the station by tramcar with a stop just around the corner. Across the bridge from the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Dome building ( which we could see from our twin room which was cool). A short walk to the main streets where you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants. Our twin room ticked the boxes for a short stay as we intended too, and where out and about most of the time. Close to ANA Crowne Plaza at a far better price. I’d stay here again if in Hiroshima.
Great location with easy accessibility. Has lots of restaurants, bars and shops within its vicinity. Peace park visible from the room and from the dining area making the view just amazing. Toiletries and amenities were luxurious indeed. Interiors are wonderful. A luxurious comfy den.
We found this hotel online. Photos looked nice and reviews seemed good and the price was okay at $102.00 AUD per night. We arrived at 10pm and got into our room fairly quickly. Straight up space is not something you have in this place. (At l way not out room). I was travelling with my wife and Son and believed I booked a room which had 2 double beds. Instead we got a single queen and was told that was the only room type in the hotel even though the advert was different. We just wanted to sleep and were only there for a night so we didn’t unpack, even though there wasn’t enough room for our two suit cases. Hotel seems clean but tired. Bathroom is small to the point where sitting on the toilet is t the most comfortable experience. The wall is right next to the seat so your sitting on an angle. The plus is the room has a tv, but we didn’t test it.
This hotel is in a great location, across the road from the Peace Park and one block from the tram. Close to shops and restaurants (mostly Italian for some reason). Unfortunately, it's also a very old hotel. They still use physical keys (which you need to hand into the front desk when you leave the hotel) for example. It feels like no money has been put into upgrading the hotel since the 1980's. That's not to say the place is rundown. It was clean and well maintained, it was just old (and not in a good way). The aging hotel didn't provide value for money. In all of the hotels I stayed at in Japan, this was by far the lowest rated and one of the most expensive. If it wasn't for the location, this place would struggle. Staff were friendly and communicated in English effectively. The large room I booked was worthwhile as it was much bigger than I expected. The breakfast restaurant is on the top floor and has a great view. The food was ok, but nothing exciting. It was decent enough to load up on for the day's adventures.
We were very pleased with this accommodation, very good value for money. Room itself was small which seems pretty standard for Japan, but nice interiors and lovely view of the river. Was in close walking distance of everything. Would recommend.
Staff was accommodating, place was easily accessed by streetcar or meipuru puru sightseeing bus. Hotel was quite old. But very near to Kamiyacho, A bomb place and peace park. I however had a strange experience in one of the rooms. Kept hearing strange sounds well into the wee hours, Tapping sounds of sorts, I brushed it off as creaks of old hotel but it got louder until I was so frustrated and nearly shouted and then it went quiet. Whatever it was, it kept me from sleeping and I requested to change room and then the noise was no more. The reception was very accommodating and helped me change room at 3 am. I'm very grateful for that. I'd caution solo travellers to not take room 3440 otherwise this is an excellent hotel. I've traveled quite a bit and this is by far my first weird experience like this. Anyway, great hotel nonetheless despite my strange experience.
We stayed here for two nights and it was just what we needed. The room is small but the bath tub is huge, the bed is comfortable and the amenities are great. Our room looked over the river, so beautiful.
