Terrible consideration to travelers - If you are having construction, fine. But the noise just outside my bedroom wall, which backed to the stairwell, being renovated, then don't put a customer in those rooms OR warn them to the noise & give them the choice to stay or go elsewhere. It's not difficult! This is what different cultures can get you ....
It's a noisy hotel. Clean but needs work, Would not stay here again. Smoke detector is hanging off the wall. No water pressure when taken a shower. The fitness room is a joke and half the stuff is broken. Keys to rooms kept having to be reset. They said it was the cell phone. Funny but I left mine in the car, Same problem. That everyone else had at the hotel. Go somewhere else.
First the pros - check in by Ebony was fast and efficient. The room was a good size with a long hallway, sofa, refrigerator and microwave. No noticeable noise inside or outside. Now the cons - and there were several. First the Wi-Fi was excruciatingly slow. Oftentimes, it would not connect to any website. After an hour of complaining, I called the front desk and was told she "didn't have access to the unit, only the maintenance guy did" and he wouldn't be back until the morning. She then offered the suggestion to turn off my laptop and turn it back on. Um, ok. Regardless, the Wi-Fi never improved, even the next day when the maintenance guy supposedly reappeared. Next, attempting to ride the elevator down to breakfast, it was apparently the elevator was either stuck or not working. We asked a worker there who replied, Yes, it's broken - it's ALWAYS broken. Not that big a deal since they only have 3 stories, but loading up took more than just one trip up and down the stairs. Next, the breakfast. While the room was not nearly full of people, tables were dirty and never cleaned and many times, items were empty and not refilled, including but not limited to regular coffee and waffle batter - this was not at the end of the breakfast times, in fact it was during the middle. There was worker who appeared to be working hard, but did not have exceptional customer service skills - when someone informed her about the coffee being out, they were told to just wait. After complaining at checkout about all these problems, I was given a small discount on my room rate, however, if these items are not permanently fixed, I'm afraid this place will continue to deteriorate. Keep in mind, the main reason for staying - a good night's sleep - was accomplished. It's just all the extras that were abysmal.
Checked in on 6/25/17 and given a third floor room. ELEVATOR OUT OF SERVICE. Had to carry our luggage up three flights. Lady at desk offered to help carry luggage but I couldn't have her do that. Checked out on 6/28 with elevator still out of service, though it did work for a few hours the prior day. Stayed here two years ago during remodeling ( which we didn't know in advance that the place in disarray) and couldn't use the elevator on check-in due to floor being tiled. The bath tub is the most uncomfortable for lack of standing space, unless you're a child.
I was very thankful to find a place for around $100 a night and it was close enough to Hilton Head for us to go to the beach every day and Savannah, GA one day. Here's the deal: it was good for the price. It wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed in, but certainly not the best. Pros: Breakfast- eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles (my favorite!), cereal, muffins, fruit, yogurt and more. Also, the lady who took care of the breakfast was wonderful and kept it so clean!! Price- I got an awesome price last minute! Location- right next to Kroger and some restaurants. Near Walmart and target and other stores Bed- very comfy king sized bed!! Room size- we got a suite because we needed extra space for our son's pack and play and there was plenty of room! Cons: Elevator- elevator was down the day we got there and didn't work till our last full day there. I believe this was out of the hotel's control and they were having it worked on. But obviously it was inconvenience having an 8 month old and having to carry him to the third floor. On a positive note, the manager's son helped us carry up luggage the day we got there which was so nice. Keys- our keys for deactivated TWICE... during a 4 night stay. We came back after a day out and neither of our keys worked. Our keys were kept in two totally different locations. The lady at the front told us our phones just have deactivated them.... but our phones were not near them at all. Nevertheless, we got them activated and went on our way. The next day, our keys were deactivated.... again. Extremely inconvenient. Bathtub- the tub was TINY. It was hard to stand in the shower. This was weird because the bathroom was very nice! But the tub was very tiny and dirty looking. Also, holes in our shower curtain. Room air flow- which the way our room was set up, the air flow wasn't good at all. We had it on the lowest setting but it never got very cool. Tv- the tv was a little tricky. The remote was not for the tv but a box next to the tv. We finally figured it out, but it seemed silly that this would even be an issue. Bedding- our bedding had a couple stains on it and some holes in it. My husband wanted me to give this hotel two stars, but the price was so good that I didn't let all the problems bother me too much.
We just got home after 6 nights there. Overall it was very good. We did have just a few issues with housekeeping (see the negative review a few down from this one although we didn't have that much trouble) although everyone was very courteous. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfasts were quite good and Annie, who works in the breakfast room was a delight and brightened up each morning for us. At this price point I'd say that you could do a lot worse.
Very nice rooms . Beds are comfortable.it was noisy. Overall nice place . They do have a small outdoor pool and small fitness center.nice lobby. Elevator present. Newly renovated.convenient to Hilton Head and much cheaper than any of the places on the island. Good breakfast included.
Okay, here it goes. If I could technically rate this hotel at ZERO, I would. This was by far the worst service I have ever experienced at a hotel before. Housekeeping was in front of our room at 7:30am (obviously we are on vacation and not getting up that early) & would slip a piece of paper saying 'you had your DO Not disturb' sign on when we came by so please let management know if you'd like your room cleaned". We might as well had just let them in since having a DO NOT DISTURB sign doesn't mean anything to them. They were all talking so loudly as if it wasn't the crack of dawn and no one would possibly be sleeping a foot away from you. On our way out for the day around 10, I told the front desk that we'd like our room cleaned & she confirmed that they would. We got back early evening and the room had not been cleaned. I called the front desk and asked for fresh towels and toilet paper since we were out. Towels were brought to us but they were apparently out of toilet paper and would bring it by when they got it. My fiancé and I decided that getting our own toilet paper would be faster than waiting an entire day to get it from the hotel. The same thing happened the next morning at 7:30am & we had to tell them separately to clean the room.. well, they 'cleaned' but did not leave us fresh towels. They took our old ones though which meant we were left with NO towels & I had to call the front desk again. Also, we tried to get in the back, side & our hotel rooms & the key cards did not work. We were one of 3 couples that were having the same problems yet the person at the front desk blamed it on me that my card wasn't working.. ok. The only thing that was okay about staying here was the comfy bed. The TV was also not working..the remote only worked every now and then. Not like I could get much sleep though with the super thin walls, housekeeping being super loud early in the morning (discussing weed and "being lit"), & the bright hallway light shining through the huge crack in the bottom of the room door which we ended up putting a towel in front of in order to fall asleep. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Will for sure not be returning. Some advice to management.. consider getting some new employees who actually care about the guests staying in your hotel.
My husband and I enjoyed a weekend here. We stayed 3 nights. This hotel sits within a shopping center that has restauramts and stores so getting whatever we needed was really convenient. There are also stores such as Walmart, Sam's Club and Best Buy nearby. The outlets are a short 5 minute drive. We went to Brandon beach Ithink it's called instead of Coligny because Coligny's parking was hectic. Brandon beach was only .50/hr and no waiting for a park. There was a short walk to get to the beach. Great stay. Hotel is clean and modern.Breakfast was so so but we just went a few seconds to the Ihop in the shopping center. The only thing was our room key stopped working after 2 days and we were locked out but issue was fixed quickly.
Two couples, two rooms, stayed 1-nite while visiting friends on Hilton Head Island. Upon check-in, desk staff gave impression they were doing you a favor to check you in and were not very happy with their job. When she spoke, she was cordial enough, but no smile. Ever. Electronic keys for one one did not work, had to return to desk to have re-programmed. Second room had no bath towels. A call to desk got a "we'll have housekeeping bring some". 2-hrs later, still no towels. Breakfast the next morning, tried for hot water to make tea. The dispenser produced hot water with some sort of black "scale" floating in it. I passed on the coffee dispenser. The place appeared to be fairly clean, free of offensive odors. Housekeeping staff was more customer friendly, better attitude than the desk staff. For $150 after-tax, I think we'll try another hotel on our next visit.
