Rollercoaster and water slide enthusiasts can take in a day of fun at Silver Dollar City or White Water Branson. The majestic Ozark Mountains provide the backdrop for zip-line adventures, cave tours, horseback riding and outdoor sports. The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is located in nearby Springfield, and the historic town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, is about 50 miles away. This charming town has beautiful Victorian homes, quaint inns, public parks and gardens, gourmet restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries for travelers to visit.
Branson Motorcycle Rally
Held annually in August, the Branson Motorcycle Rally brings bike enthusiasts from around the nation to the area for two days of special rides, exhibits and a military bike build-off. Everything from cruisers to sport bikes are on display.
See the World in Branson Music Fest
See the World in Branson Music Fest takes visitors on a journey through the music, entertainment, attractions and cuisine of more than 30 different countries. This internationally-inspired event takes place over several weeks in April and May.
Lake of the Ozarks Shootout
Designed to raise funds to support local fire stations and other charitable organizations, the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is 10 days of powerboat races, beach parties, pontoon boat poker runs, Jet Ski races and much more. This family-friendly event takes place in August.
Silver Dollar City
In November through December, the 1800s-themed Silver Dollar City gets all decked out for the holidays. Broadway-style shows, festive music, delicious treats, and the sparkle of millions of lights and dazzling decorations make the event, known as An Old Time Christmas, a great spot to light up the holidays.
Best time to stay
While Branson, Missouri, can be chilly in the winter months, the variety of indoor shows and theaters makes it a great destination any time of the year. Summer months are warm and sunny for outdoor sports and other special events. The fall foliage in the Ozark Mountains can be quite breathtaking. Be sure to bring extra memory for your camera.
