I stayed over for a friend's wedding and really loved the hotel, it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, checking in and out was very easy. My room was clean and bed was really comfortable, I also really enjoyed the breakfast and there was a good selection. There was adequate parking and the wedding itself was wonderful, great bar facilities too so nobody queued long for drinks and they weren't overpriced. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and look forward to coming back soon.

The room was bright and clean. Tea, coffee and kettle provided, plus mini shampoo and shower gel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was a standard English breakfast- local sausages, bacon, eggs etc plus toast, yoghurts, cereals and a choice of juices. My mattress was quite hard but as I as only there for 2 nights it wasn't a big deal. On the morning of my departure I was woken at 6:30 by the man next door making a phone call so the walls are incredibly thin, however, the hotel does have bedroom renovations planned and this shouldn't be an issue in the future.

Really needs modernising. Thin walls, small bed. Found out the day after we checked out that the hotel had fraudulently taken an additional £25 from my bank without permission and I don't know what for.

Pleasant room. Did not read small print about did no t find staff particularly friendly but there was a large function taking place. Further from St Albans than at first thought. Should gave read more!!

The events team at The Noke were simply amazing, they couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. From the moment we booked, the wedding planner Nikki was attentive, the Duty Manager Karen was extremely flexible in the weeks running up to the wedding and on the day, Craig, the Food and Beverage Manager was on point and sorted everything out with ease, he was omnipresent and afterwards, I found out a couple of things went wrong with other suppliers that he'd stealthily took care of without need to trouble us about it. The bridal suite was exceptional, the ceremony room was light and pretty with lovely garden views and the marquee for the reception was spacious and loved the starlit ceiling and crystal drop chandelier. There was so much at the breakfast buffet and was constantly being refreshed and the staff were all so lovely. I thoroughly recommend this Hotel for your wedding or any party, I would love to do it all again and wouldn't change one thing.

Just don't stay here. I suffered from food poisoning and duly reported it to the Foods Standards Authority. When I eventually received a telephone call from the manager in relation to this, his reaction was " well if you hadn't reported this i could have been much more flexible." In addition to illness, I could hear every word of the next room's TV for most of the night. This place doesn't deserve to bear the Mercure brand. It's badly run, tired establishment. End of story.

This hotel is very tired - my room was adequate but very dated and simply dirty. Public areas are large with choice on venue for bar options. Staff are lacklustre and lack experience I think the Hotel could be very good, it has a good location. Restaurant it self is well appointed, just need good food.

Stay here quite regularly. Hotel decent for the price, food good and staff very helpful and friendly. Special mention to the guys who run the gym, especially Matt. He helped me with some physio for my back, gave me some exercises and I've been fine since. It was out of the goodness of his own heart, he didn't have to offer. Great team and a nice pool and spa area.

We stayed here for a family wedding. Everything was extremely well organised without making us feel we were being bossed about. Ages ranged from 9 months to 94 but everyone was made to feel special. In going to bed at midnight we discovered there was no electric socket near the bedhead, however after a call to reception, a long extension lead arrived withtin 5 minutes. Very impressed!

A quaint, traditional hotel. It is located in St. Albans. The outdoors was beautifully decorated with flowers. It is an easy train ride into the center of London. On of the perks is free parking for guests. Our room was on the first floor and spotless. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar and the food was very good.
