Brilliant from start to finish. High quality, clean rooms. Easy parking arrangements. 2 minutes walk to train station with regular trains to London and buses to the Harry Potter Experience. Staff were friendly and good with my children; especially housekeeping who arranged my children's many teddies on their bed - they loved walking in to see this when we got back from a busy day in London. Breakfast was good as were the two evening meals we had - my son declared that the chips were the best he's ever had! We would definitely return.
We stayed here 8 & 9th April 2018. Great location within a few minute walk to Watford Junction station & bus depot. Limited parking at the rear of hotel at a charge of £5 per day, very reasonable price we thought. Staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was bright and clean, free Wifi code given on check in. We stayed in a family room, double bed & double sofa bed. Plenty of towels and bedding for us all. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Watford Junction station. I have to say I was very surprised as to how quiet it was. I expected to be kept awake but this was not the case. Breakfast was simple, but plentiful supply, with the option to take it away if wanting to eat on the move!! Shopping centre, supermarkets were a short drive/ bus journey away. Fast train to London at regular times. Great location if you don't want Central London location or price. We paid £120 for our stay. We visited Harry Potter world and caught the designated service bus £2.50 each return visit. Only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. We will definately stay here again.
We booked this hotel at last minute directly through the website. The hotel is very conveniently located right opposite to the train station. Several restaurants around. It has its own on-site pay-n-display carpark which we found very useful. Price was fair enough. Hotel decor was very nice and warm. Clean and well maintained interiors. Room was spacious enough. Adequate size. Bathroom was very clean too. Good spread of breakfast-cold and hot food! There were 4 types of cereals, yogurt and berry compute as well as on-the-go porridge. Continental options were available as well which we though were great! Hot food included bacon, sausages, baked beans and scrambled eggs. The only thing I’d suggest is that hot food options/selection could improve-probably choice of cooked egg varieties, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. But not complaining. Overall, our stay was pleasant and we would recommend this hotel.
Checked in and staff were pleasant but the lift was not working so had to carry my suitcase upstairs, no AC in the room, double glazing was poor as could hear trains and traffic all night, bed was not comfortable at all and the bathroom tap was constantly dripping! Shower had no power and room didn’t smell great. Restaurant wasn’t open either. Won’t ever stay again. Not cheap either! Colleague who also stayed got a parking ticket even though he was staying here and gave registration to hotel! Reception were unwilling to help with this so AVOID!!
A very nice a clean hotel. Staff were all very friendly and approachable. We stayed here as we were going to visit Harry Potter studios. The rooms were comfortable but the beds are very soft which wasn’t a problem for me but my husband struggled to sleep. The walls are very thin which is the only downsides we could hear people talking, singing and shouting from down the corrosion our room. The breakfast was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it. An excellent choice of food available. Overall we would stay again but maybe not when every contest from the voice are there singing and practicing until early hours.
I am writing this now while I'm here at 25 mins past midnight....group of males banging shouting swearing in the corridor outside of my room. I'm here with kids they're upset and I'm too frightened to call down to reception this has been going on for 3 hours now!! I can't believe that this is allowed when it's so close to family attractions and this hotel is clearly popular with families I've seen children around early evening. I don't care about any other factors this hotel has scored a terrible with me due to this experience and I'll not be back!!
Recently stayed here with family and a baby. Hotel staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was superb considering it’s included within the price, and the whole building was clean and modern. Superb location if you’re looking to go to Harry Potter Studios, and only 20 minutes into central London. Definitely would visit again!
stayed 4 nights here on our break to london.. 2 min walk to train station and bus stop for warner bro studios. lovely , clean and comfortable rooms, staff helpful and friendly.. cant fault this hotel at all.
Unfortunately i have to give a very low review of the holiday inn. We stayed for one night on the 2nd December. We have since had an ongoing issue with Parking Eye. We paid £5.00 at reception for parking our vehicle here and have since been fined £100 by them because holiday inn did not process our parking correctly. (Or so it seems because we have since had our case declined by POPLA). We feel that the fee should either be cancelled or paid for by Holiday Inn and so far to date no one has accepted responsibility. And it certainly wasn't mine. Absolutely furious.
Stayed in this hotel with my daughter and two granddaughter's. Hotel was clean and quite the room was big enough for the four of us .The staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of it. The hotel was very close to the bus and train station.
