Thoroughly enjoyed mainly 'cause it was value for money and because of the excellent hotel staff The handy smartphone came in real handy coz we could get endless access to Citymapper in transit. Location is pretty convenient being close to watford junction and it is up to this station only Oyster Cards are accepted
So sad we are staying as part of a Wedding party and booked in to find refurb going on that we weren't informed of and no evening food in hotel we were all looking forward to eating together tonight with the bride ... as a IHG member I can honestly say this has the most unhelpful staff extremely disinterested in any queries we had no where on the Web page do they say about no food .....also we have a disabled person in our party I telephoned last week to check parking and was told they have four spaces that are never filled only to get here and be told hotel has no parking and we can park in council run car park
Hotel was being refurbished we was unaware until arrival. breakfast was ok but disappointed as plastic cups and paper plates!! No problems with room clean and well presented. Staff on reception need a bit of a boost! No welcome or interaction.
Have stayed there several times. Checkin always good. Rooms are clean and tidy. Small breakfast selection but good enough for the price. Only downer is the car park. Spaces are tiny and maneuvering is sometimes difficult even for those that are usually efficient at parking.
A long days work, and feeling a little under the weather, the last thing I wanted was to be greated by building works, but my concerns were not warranted. The staff were great, and a warm friendly welcome did raise my spirits, and everything explained with regards the works and it's impact. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable, which is what I needed.Woke in the morning after a good night's sleep feeling much better, there was plenty of room at breakfast, but it was early so could get busy given the referbishments.Only slight issue, limited parking so don't leave it too late, and once checking in having to go back out to your vehicle with a permit, most other HI have electronic parking records, but this wasn't a big concern.Given my short time everything was great, recommended and will stay again.
even though our stay was short and enjoyable the room was very small and not suitable for a family. When we were leaving we complained and were told that all the rooms were the same size . After we came home i received a letter from Enterprise Car Rental re a parking fine at the Hotel . I contacted the Hotel about this and was informed that parking was not free and that they could not do anything. I am still awaiting the outcome to this
Room and bathroom looked newly refurbished. Beds were very comfy and carpets were clean. Train noise was minimal as windows were shut and air con was on Breakfast area was under refurbishment. Breakfast served in paper plates, plastic cups for juice and ‘takeaway cups for coffee. Basic menu and limited seating. Parking spaces are very limited and charged at £5 a day. Make sure you park early on. Could see car from room. Hotel is a short walk to train station with good links to London or Harry Potter bus.
We stayed here as we wanted to take the children to the Harry Potter Studio Tour (HPST). Our party consisted of 3 adults and 3 children, so we booked 2 rooms. The price was very reasonable and included breakfast. The HIE is literally minutes walk from Watford Junction Station. We arrived almost an hour early but were happy to sit in reception and wait and have a drink. The hotel are currently having some building work done, so space is actually quite limited at the moment. We checked in at 3pm and went to our rooms. The room was spotless, and very functional, with ensuite shower room and tea/coffee facilities. It had a large widescreen TV and a mobile phone/table type thing, that you could communicate with the other rooms on, and access the internet on. WIFI was free which is a huge bonus. The sofa was a sofa bed, which the children slept on. There were plenty of pillows. We were booked on a tour at the HPST so walked the 5 minutes back to the station and caught the shuttle bus to the tour. (Highly recommend the Studio Tour, but that's another review!). We caught the shuttle bus back from HPST at 9pm, and then returned to our hotel. I had a great night's sleep, the bed was comfortable and everything was crisp and clean. The shower was powerful in the morning, enough to wake me up. Breakfast was a bit chaotic due to the lack of space due to the building work. There were people waiting for tables and sat all over the place. The hotel had said you could eat in your room but I ate various things and didn't want to make several trips, or have children carrying food around on trays. Breakfast included a good choice of cereals, orange juice, cheese, yogurt, toast, croissants, bread rolls, sausage, egg, bacon, beans. If something ran out then it was replaced quickly, you only had to ask if they hadn't done it. Checkout was easy. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout, offering the use of a baggage room. There were cleaners there mopping up when it was raining outside. Tables were cleared quickly at breakfast time, (which was 7.30am to 10.30am). I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour. It is perfectly situated for the station/shuttle bus.
The staff of this hotel were all friendly even when we checked in quite late after being evacuated out of Euston station for two hours they were very understanding. The hotel is in an excellent location for Watford Junction Train Station and the Warner Brother tour (with the bus for the studio leaving from the station) it's only about ten to fifteen minutes walk from Watford Intu as well depending how fast you walk. The Sainsbury's was a little hard to find but we found it in the end. Breakfast was like every other of the change simple but filled you up for the morning. We had the side of the trains and didnt hear a thing the windows blocked the sound out well. The only two downsides were the rooms were extremely warm and the double beds were pretty small for two people to sleep on even when the room was large.
This hotel is conveniently placed for Watford Junction station and the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour which was the reason we stayed there. The staff on the front desk were pleasant and polite and were very accommodating when we had to check in outside the allocated times, due to us being caught up in a security alert at Euston Station and we arrived much later than anticipated. The room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was well stocked and situated in a pleasant, airy room. My reason for the average score was that our room was way too hot and the air conditioning didn't cool the room at all. Also we found the double bed abit on the small size to get a comfortable night's sleep. We were in a room overlooking the station, but the noise from the trains was minimal. It was the heat of the room which prevented a good night's sleep. I would also add that although it is in an excellent spot for the Harry Potter Tour bus and Watford Gap station, there are no supermarkets close by, so this was also a disadvantage for us. But overall a decent enough hotel with very polite and friendly staff which we were very grateful for after the upsetting experience at Euston station and we thank you for your kindness to us.
