Stayed here with my partner on a Saturday night. It's literally a two minute walk from the train station, behind the pub when you come out. Staff are pleasant, rooms are clean and tidy and you can get a bus to the Harry Potter tour from the bus station next to the main train station. Also a short walk into the town centre where the shopping centre is. Good location for those visiting HP, although there is some building work going on during the day which can be rather noisy. Breakfast is pretty poor too.
This hotel was ideal for what we were looking for . We stayed here when we were going to Harry Potter Studios. It's is located 10 mins away and there is a bus running just beside the hotel which costs £3 return. The hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were very helpful.
Stayed for two nights with family - nice size room (double bed and fold out sofa bed). I'd read a number of reviews of how loud the rooms can be given the close proximity to the train station so rang ahead and asked for a quiet room - obviously this couldn't be guaranteed though I was told they would try. We were in room 501 - on the corner over looking the high street and the tracks to the right... every train could be heard clearly... so if it is a quiet room I wouldn't like to be in any of the others! Parking was fine - I expected no spaces (given previous reviews) though when we arrived there were only 5 cars in the car park... we went out that evening and on our return there were still at least 8 free spaces. Evening menu wasn't great which is why we went out (to a local Bella Italia - short distance away). Breakfast - sausages and eggs were disgusting, beans freezing cold. I asked twice for them to bring bread out, which they did do after about 10 minutes. Went to London on our full day - train station within 2 minutes walk. Got back to find that the fold out sofa bed and had been put back to a sofa and there weren't enough towels! No drama to unfold the bed and the receptionist brought a towel after I rang and asked twice. The website clearly advertised that work is being done on the hotel and takes place between 9 and 5... it started just after 9 and was really loud! Wouldn't stay here again.
Me and my boyfriend stayed her as we're attending the Harry Potter valentines meal at the warner brothers studio tour. We were pleasantly surprised as we had only paid £49 each on booking.com and weren't expecting our room to be as lovely as it was. The room was big and spacious, clean and modern. The bed was nice and comfy with big pillows (two each) as well as a big nice window which let lots of light in when wanted but curtains that kept the room dark in the morning. We also got a big desk and a sofa that doubled as a bed! (Excuse the mess, it's ours). We had a lovely bathroom with a nice big shower and very clean. My only faults with this hotel is the entrance as from the car park we walked through an alleyway with a skip in it, which at night isn't that pleasant. Also the breakfast wasn't great as the beans were cold and there was not a lot of choice, I do feel the room made up for this though. Strongly recommend if saying in Watford, it's literally 2 minutes away from the station and a great stay if going to visit the Warner brothers studio which is also amazing !!
Booked two rooms at this hotel recently and both were on the fourth floor, next to each other. The rooms were spacious, with bathroom and toilet with soap dispenser on the wall. TV, sockets, tea, coffee and kettle and all very clean. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Had a bit of difficulty in getting the air con to work so we left it on the default. No real problem there. The breakfast was delicious - plenty of it and even though it was advertised as continental, there was still scrambled egg, beans and sausage on offer as well as cereals etc. The reason not given an 'excellent' is because there was work being done on the rooms and the banging started a little earlier than 9 am. The hotel maybe should have informed guests that this was being done on arrival. We just saw the notice in the lift about work being carried out during working hours Mon to Friday. The staff were very friendly on reception and at breakfast. We had to pay £5 for the car park overnight which was parked behind the hotel.
Good location to town. Very good sound proofed rooms as we were 4th floor looking over railway. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean as was bedding , shower was ok. Sufficient , had a cover missing on the tap but it worked. Breakfast was ok. No bacon although this was advertised, basic continental breakfast plus scrambled egg, sausage and beans. Help yourself Would stAy again and hopefully the builders would have gone as they started about 8am Saturday morning , that was the down side !!
We were three couples staying the night before visiting the Harry Potter studio tour. I chose the hotel due to it's proximity to both Watford Junction station and the bus stop for the studio tour and the reasonable price. The welcome from the staff was excellent and they were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were of a good size and very clean. Unfortunately, we found the beds very small ( I guess they must be a small double?) and the room uncomfortably hot over night. There is an air con unit but we chose not to put ot on due to the noise of the fan. Breakfast was included in the room rate and there was the usual selection of cereals, bread and hot food with enough variety to cater for us all. You can walk to Watford High street in 10-15 minutes and a taxi takes 5 minutes and cost us about £10. It's a basic hotel but I would use again if going on the studio tour.
Stayed here one night after spending the day in London. Great stop very close to Watford Junction train station. Staff very helpful. Room was comfortable and warm. Breakfast was good. Parking at hotel was very reasonable.
I arrived, to be met by a smiling face who was extremely helpful, the hotel has recently undergone a refurb and it looks great. It has everything you need and the decoration is modern. I had a double room with a sofa which is a nice touch rather than having to sit on the bed. The hotel is right next to the train station and many of the shops you would want. Overall great hotel for business or for sight seeing.
You get what you pay for and more. It is clean with friendly staff. They took care of the atmosphere and the decor. The rooms are ok and there is a mini gym. You have a Starbucks in the lobby and at the end of the day the price is right. Would go back
