Scandic Marski

Location: Perfect. Right in the middle of Helsinki. Close to everything. Park your car and walk or use the metro. No need to drive. Rooms: Modern, clean and plenty of space. Bathrooms are clean and modern and have a good amount of space. There was a closet, mini-bar, desk and flat panel TV in my room. Staff: Friendly, efficient, all speak English. There was a line of 6 guests ahead of me when I wanted to check out and they processed the line in about 8 minutes. Hotel: Up-to-date. The breakfast is FULL - tons of options and it's included in the price of the hotel. Parking (26 Euro / day) is located directly under the hotel. Summary: There's no reason not to give this hotel 5-stars. It's reasonably priced (under 100 Euro in January 2017) and very comfortable. Tons of restaurants/bars/museums/shopping/etc are all within a few minutes walk. There's no chance you'll be disappointed at the Scandic Marski.

This is the definition of the perfect hotel. Reasonably priced, full breakfast (and by 'full' I mean there are options for every possibly cultural breakfast preference), clean/modern rooms that are of a decent size, etc. The location is PERFECT. I can't stress this enough. Right in the center, close walks to everything (Finnish museum, modern are museum, etc). The Stockman department store (similar to Macy's) is located directly across the street. There are dozens of bars/pubs/restaurants located within an 8 minute walk. Parking (27€/day) is located directly under the building. Everyone in the center of Helsinki speaks English. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Room wasn't that what we order ,they try give us regular room, premium price.

I have stayed here three times and loved it!! Great staff great location and very clean

IT WAS EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY I WOULD STYA THERE AGAIN AND AGAIN

As with most Nordic hotels, this property is spartan and may dated. But, if you can get past these, the hotel is quite good. It's right smack in the city center and walking distance to central station (convenient for catching the airport bus especially early morning hours) and flagship stores of iconic Finn brands (iittala, Marimekko, Fazer, etc.) The staff (front desk, restaurant) are warm and genuinely friendly and helpful. The best part is breakfast. There's a variety of offerings for anyone who wants to eat a heavy breakfast. And they have all kinds of choices from gluten free, low fat, lactose free, etc.

Right around the corner from the main railway station and city center of Helsinki. This hotel is great. Except the two twin beds coming together to make a queen size bed. The beds kept coming apart and would not stick together..

This hotel was an excellent choice for our family, with the train station and plenty of shopping all within a block or two. The heated bathroom floor was a big hit! Helsinki is so close to Estonia that we took a day-cruise there and back on the Viking Line. Very reasonable price and well worth it.

I stayed here for six days. The room I got was a standard, which was a bit small. The bed was a full size, but the pillows were hard, small and uncomfortable. The window blinds did a very poor job of blocking out the light so being able to sleep in darkness was not possible. The overall comfort of the room was not up to par for a 4-star hotel. I paid 140 euros per night. Perhaps staying at another hotel would have given me a little bit more comfort.

It was the third time we stayed at Marski, and we do it because it is a good hotel in the absolute center of Helsinki. Great restaurants and good shopping within walking distance, and good public transportation around the city. Try Bellevue for a good meal, and Stockmann across the street for shopping. We will go to Marski next time again..

Great location in the middle of everything. They will hold your luggage till you fly out.

The hotel facility is somewhat dated. Good by regular European standards. The beds are small. We had a deluxe room which was large by European standards, but small by American experience. Very nice Breakfast Buffet and free internet.

Great location across the street from Helsinki's largest department store (Stockmann's). Great area for shopping and dining. Close proximity to Esplanade Park for nice walks in the evening and when heading toward the harbor area. Hotel room faced atrium, which kept things quiet, but view wasn't any good. Actually it didn't seem like much privacy with the windows facing other rooms and hallways....felt claustrophobic! Breakfast was plentiful with large selection. No pool and sauna area was small without an attendant. Other than location, nothing really stood out about this hotel to make it special in any way.

The hotel's central location accross the street from Helsinki's best department store Stockmann was unbeatable. We enjoyed it very much. The organic breakfast with a variety of foods was great. I had concerns about street noise before our trip and my worst fears materialized during our stay. Our room was in the new wing on the second floor by Yrjonkatu that is a street parallel to the main street Mannerheimintie. There was a lot of street noise making it difficult to sleep. The hotel was full so it was not possible to change a room. It was great to have a private sauna off the bathroom. It appears that the member's of Scandic's freaquent quest program were getting the best service and rooms. I will join it if I stay in this hotel again.

Had booked a room for 4 people, got 2 double beds, 1 twin bed, and 1 sofabed. Very big room in a great location, within walking distance of the pier and shopping! Breakfast was included as well :)

Having stayed in the hotel many times times knew what to expect. Room little tight for two people for 10 days. Breakfast is great and sitting in bar area very relaxing. There seems to be very limitted staffing as getting someone on the phone took many calls and time. Housekeeping was sloppy but bathroom was clean and towels changed regularly. Location is the best with easy access to public transportation and center.

They've taken care of all the things that really matter--morning breakfast was excellent, room design and amenities were great (even our 'standard' room was just fine) and if you're planning to see Helsinki, the central location was perfect. Even taxi arrangements at 4:15am went without a hitch. We'd stay again. (This isn't a 'canned' review--I'm a real tourist!)

The hotel was conveniently located, extremely clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The next time I visit Helsinki, I will try them again!

This is an aging quality hotel which is still a good choice but has lost its edge. New management could turn it into a great place. Boiled and scrambled eggs at breakfast seem to be all cooked at 6:30 a.m. and allowed to chill all morning until there are none left. Still I enjoyed staying there.

we stayed here for five days at the end of a month long trip throughout europe- it was a great place to stay! close to everything- public transportaion; train station, trams, buses. perfect location!
