Second time I stayed there, I would highly recommend it.

They were the best! Took extra good care of us for our anniversary.... thank you!

Beautiful hotel. Amazing facilities. We were absolutely impressed with the grounds and every staff member was helpful and courteous. My only small picky complaint is that the rooms need a bit of TLC and upkeep. While done in a beautiful carerra marble, our shower didn't drain properly and had moldy grout/caulk lines. There were also mold/mildew spots on the wall in the bathroom. Honestly, this really didn't bother us that much because we spent 90% of our time outside. And they simply can't be beat when it comes to their grounds. The property is beautiful...

We really enjoy this place it's Beautiful. Just need a shuttle for the airport.

I got a confirmation email from Orbitz. However when I checked in, they couldn't find my reservation even with the confirmation number. I had to wait almost an hour in the lobby making phone calls to Orbitz customer service. It was very unpleasant experience.

The hotel has beautiful grounds for relaxation. If you come with family or on honeymoon, this place has a lot to offer! The beach is excellent for children and very safe for snorkeling. It was the first time snorkeling for my children and they enjoyed every bit of it.

We went for our honeymoon/1 year and loved it! There were quite a few families and couples, so it was just a nice area. The beach is especially fun to snorkel.

It is just nice and good hotel to stay twnor more nights. Strongly recommend to visit.

We had to wait more than an hour to get our room and it was too hot outside. The rooms are pretty confortable and the food is ok.

Beautiful location, wonderful staff, great food at the resort. Housekeeping less than desirable in room. We were disappointed that people were allowed to save chairs all day around the pool when they weren't even there. Besides this-great place.

Had a wonderful time at the luxurious Fairmont hotel. Very attentive staff.

Great hotel with a great location and one of the finest restaurants on the island.

I loved the private beach they have! There are many sea turtles so that you can swim with them! It was pretty awesome experience for me and my family.

Really beautiful location. Perfect orientation for sunsets - they are right there in front of you. The rooms are mostly at angles to the ocean though - even most of the ocean view room. The cove is an amazing place for kids. We saw turtles in the water and sleeping on shore every day. Nice pool but there is only one large one - there is no kids specific pool. Staff was really nice. Food at the restaurants we ate at was ok. There are some other good options near by. Would definitely stay there again in the future

What a fun, relaxing, and romantic experience! Snorkeling with the sea turtles was amazing. Only draw back was the restaurants and food is very expensive. Grocery store near by to use for smaller quick meals.

We stayed at the Fairmont Orchid for 3 nights during our visit to the Big Island of Hawaii and we had a great experience! The hotel is one of the nicest 4 star hotels that I've ever seen (and definitely seems to be reaching for the 5th star#. The stay was for the end of our trip #2 nights in Hilo before to see the Volcano Park# and we were looking to do some relaxing and a little more exploring. The room we got was "partial ocean view" which was pretty accurate. However, the view of the perfectly manicured property and pool was still beautiful and relaxing. The property was quiet and really what you would expect from a relaxing luxury resort. The pool was probably the nicest I have seen and huge but tranquil. There are trees and streams and waterfalls all over the property. The beach is small but perfect for a dip and the snorkeling was amazing! We had it include with our resort fee and even if it was not I would recommend paying for it. We saw tons of brightly colored large fish of all varieties and sea turtles! The other equipment rentals are expensive unless you are there long enough to make the $75 per week worth it. The room was perfect with small terrace. The bathroom was exquisite with 2 showers #perfect for a couple to have their own space!# and 2 sinks. The hotel rate was definitely worth the hotel stay. The only thing that was expensive was food on the resort in the restaurants. Tip - buy breakfast from the snack bar by the pool instead of the restaurant. Better Tip - order the Lobster Fried Rice from the poolside restaurant for lunch or dinner - never had better - was worth the $35! This is a bit further from the resorts in Kona town #30 min?# but not a bad location and sites are a quick drive away on the island. #There is no nightlife at the hotel.) I would definitely stay here again for some relaxation!!

This is a wonderful property. I would recommend that folks explore restaurants outside of the hotel for more variety and value.

Go to Kauai and stay at the Grand Hyatt, much better place and island. Fairmont Orchid stay: 1) wifi is $13.50 per day. Needless to say, I went to the local Starbucks for wifi. 2) Bathroom not clean, looked like mold on the shower head and some on the walls. 3) tried to book a bungalow on the beach for the next day. I had a total miscommunication with the staff. The next day, they showed me two lounge chairs with a cover. I told the staff, this is not what I wanted. So, I tried to resolve the issue with a manager. I was told nothing could be done. I'm so sorry. Later..., a call to the room, the manager said she could fix the problem. I went to the beach house, the staff there were not informed, I was done. Horrible experience. Unprofessional. Not on the spot to resolve issues. 4) My bath towel had holes in it! Wow not 5 star to me... 5) air conditioning broke for the evening and night. Hawaii is very humid. They offered complementary snowcones as comphensation . Can you believe snow cones! Wow, it blows my mind! Did I say snow cones... 6) The breakfast buffet had covers on the Italian cold cuts, the covers didn't keep the flies out. very disgusting! I would not recommend this place to anybody. I would have been better off at a motel 6.

The beach here is wonderful. Although on the small side, it was never crowded. It was very protected so even on rough surf days we were able to snorkel and see colorful fish and even swam with turtles! The hotels is great with beautiful gardens, tranquility and was never loud or crowded. A very peaceful, relaxing oasis in north Kona!

The Best Resort we have ever stayed and we plan to visit every year here.. The place is huge and Awesome!! The easy relaxing Beach & Lagoon ....the sea turtles and fish were amazing! No need really to leave the resort except to eat out as dining is expensive there. All in all we Highly recommend!
