Me and my family had a great time at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. We had a great time swimming, snorkeling, and generally relaxing and having a good time. Definitely worth it! As with everything in Hawaii, food was not cheap, but having the option of buying breakfast there was just too convenient.

Excellent for resort life, lots of activity for kids and adults

Hotel is nice. Breakfast is expensive and the menu does not change. Watch out for the roaches in the rentals.

I enjoyed everything about Mauna Lani. The desk and concierge staff were warm, cordial, welcoming, professional effective and every bit the example of what I NOW understand to be the "aloha" spirit. Housekeeping, valet (part of regular service) and all other staff seem to earnestly want you to have a great time and it shows through their service. Rooms are clean, spacious with well thought out baths. For day trips throughout the big island, be sure to use the well stocked store on site. At first we drove to Kona and shopped Walmart for picnic and party provisions, only to find that the "Aldi style" store on site allows budget-conscious vacationers the option to side-step the pricier resort bars and restaurants. Mauna Lani offers every amenity one might desire and we appreciated the early concierge emails reminding us to make reservations for activities (we did snorkeling, volcano hiking and horseback riding), to prevent arriving only to find everything booked. The warning allowed us to research dates, prices and quality of our activities, although we did not use concierge recommendations.

Me and my wife were on our babymoon at this resort last May 2017. We really liked it and if we go back to Big Island we will probably stay there again (budget permitting). Really quiet hotel with lots of space to walk around even to another nearby beach with great snorkeling. Although not a very white sandy beach by the resort, the swimming was great as the water was shallow and very calm in this area; a plus having green sea turtles feed on this beach. The pool had very comfy relaxing areas. Rooms are big and quiet. Concierges and valet parking were great. Do get a massage outdoors at the spa. Really nice set up.

The location was excellent. The pools and grounds are very well kept. The beachs were beautiful. We really enjoyed the spa and golf course. It's the best vacation my wife an I have ever had.

Stayed in an ocean front room and we normally avoid hotels and stay in houses but the brevity of the trip made it impractical . Great snorkeling down at Beach club a few hundred yards south. Slept to ocean waves and generally the hotel had a chill vibe which we like. Meals and drinks were marked up big time but that is to be expected at a Hawaiian resort. We will stay again on any trip under a week

Mauna Lani provides all the amenities of a luxury resort with a unique beach location. It's a beautifully landscaped resort with very good food options.

Great resort experience. Several good shops and restaurants within walking distance so it's very self contained. Relatively secluded though so you have to drive quite a long way for anything else. We also stayed at the Sheraton on the same trip and this was way better.

Fantastic views and grounds staff was extremely helpful and courteous

Stayed here with my fiance and it was amazing. The snorkel gear was heavily used and the ocean view rooms were breath taking.

Design view all perfect. Beach next the hotel. Personnel assez bien. Activites sur la plage.

Mauna Lani Bay Hotel provided the perfect staging area for a wonderful and relaxing vacation on our Anniversary trip. The atmosphere of the hotel is Hawaiian relaxing and the staff were all so courteous and kind. The food at the hotel's restaurants was delicious and the hotel provides a shuttle to all other places on the resort including the "Shopping area" which has some more wonderful restaurants and food places. The relaxing massages at the spa and beautiful golf courses at the resort were great, but probably our favorite memories will always be watching the most vivid and relaxing sunsets right from the hotels beach.

Amazing room on top floor overlooking ocean and the perfect sunset every night

Great hotel, felt very open, welcoming and relaxing. Room was nice size and enjoyed balcony view; we didn't hear any noise from other rooms. Resort fee includes 4 hour snorkel rental, and you can walk to great snorkeling. Hotel was good with kids, but it did not feel that it was over-run with kids, which we liked.

Mauna Lani Bay Hotel exceeds my expectation so much! I have to say it is a very nice hotel with friendly staffs. Because Hilton was fully booked for the second half of my vacation, I have to move to another hotel. Based on online reviews, I decided to give Mauna Lani Hotel a try. And I am so happy I did! Here are some highlights about this hotel: -- Very nice and friendly hotel staffs. -- Resort beach is great for snorkeling! It took 10-15 min walking from the hotel. I went there every morning and enjoyed watching all the beautiful fishes and sea turtles. The water is super clear and the fish variety is very decent. Much better than the Lagoon in Hilton Hotel! -- Resort package includes many good deals, such as free snorkeling gears (up to 4 hours and 4 ppl each room), 10% discount in many restaurants and golf course. -- Free hotel shuttles in resort area. Very convenient.

Wonderful stay, everyone is very kind and helpful. Sea turtles in the water at the beach. Pool is beautiful. It's a quiet resort, which allows you to truly relax. The pool/beach bar has excellent food and live music in the evening. Try the prime-rib steak sandwich! The bay terrace has a buffet breakfast but I recommend just ordering off the menu as it's cheaper and the portions are perfect. Ask for the coconut syrup for your pancakes! The shops have great restaurants and the shuttle bus is free and available at any time. They will even bring you to the Fairmont shops which is on the property but a different resort. Overall, a beautiful resort!

Very kind & courteous staff. Food at restaurant was good. Only drawback had to drive at least 20 miles or more to experience any other outside excursions except for helicopter ride which was wonderful.

We had a nice final night on the Big Island at the Mauna Lani. It's has a great swimming beach and nice outdoor pool and hot tub area fronting the beach. The room was large, comfortable, and well appointed with a nice lanai with table & chairs. My one complaint is that there were only 2 restaurants in the hotel, a fancy/expensive buffet and an outdoor pool bar & serving area, and a coffee bar that also serves drinks, so not a lot of options. Also, everything was closed by 9:00 pm except for the outside bar--very dead at night.
