Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Place has gone downhill over the years. No bellman or help with baggage. No pool service. For a 4.5 star hotel missing the little amenities. Also nickel and dime charges for everything.

Plenty of chairs, umbrellas and beach towels. Lifeguard on site. Vast sweeping views, surf sound at night, cooling breezes, many options for getting food, restful, quiet room with very comfortable beds. Nice lanai with view. A very beautiful experience

We spent 5 nights and was very pleased with all the services, view, beaches and staff. Would definitely recommend to others. We travelled the entire island, there may be newer facilities elsewhere, but few with the convenience and views!

Great location beautiful pool and beach! Rooms need a update better mattress and pillows

The hotel is nice but they were doing construction out the front of the room and tree trimming all day out the back. I had requested to stay in the four building but didn't get my request. The five building is very noisy., car park, construction tree trimming if you want peaceful you will want to be somewhere else.

This is an older facility more focused on saving pennies than customer satisfaction or comfort. From the refrigerator that needed defrosted two months ago to the bed sheets with threads coming off the end, the focus appears to be on doing as little as possible while charging for four star beach views. The pool and spa areas were dirty every time we used them. The bathroom light fixtures were missing screws. Everything just looked barely maintained enough to get by. However, they have a great beach.

Beautiful hotel, perfectly maintained, and with am excellent, ocean-view room. Hotel is right on a perfect Hawaii beach! Convenient underground parking, and a hotel location on one of the best parts of Big Island. Couldn't be happier with our experience.

I stayed there before several years ago and had a very pleasant experience. This year for fun and family to escape winter weather.

Hapuna is a nice hotel - not the fanciest or best hotel but definitely nice - on the most gorgeous and swimmable beach in the Big Island. Great place to stay. Don't let the (relatively) low prices fool you - the hotel is very big.

Great location and awesome amenities... wonderful and friendly staff... beautiful views...

Nice Hotel, close to a very nice beach. We will stay here again

Beautiful setting. Absolutely loved it. If you like resorts this is the perfect place for you.

This was a great place for those seeking comfort, quiet and beautiful beach/scenery. The ability to hear the ocean waves from the room each night was a bonus. We did not upgrade. The basic room was very comfortable, but could have been cleaner. That said, it wasn't gross by any means and the beds were super comfy. Moving from rooms to beach to lobby requires a lot of walking, but wasn't a problem from our perspective. The hotel breakfast was pricy, but the options were endless. It was by far the best meal option onsite.

It's always a pleasure staying at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel!! Will be back again very soon!!:)

Hapuna Prince is easily the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed with. With a majestic view of the Hapuna beach and the Pacific Ocean right from the hotel lobby, it will take your breath away. When we mentioned that we were celebrating a special occasion, the person at the registration desk upgraded us from a standard room to a premium ocean-view free of charge! The room was well appointed with materials and furniture that you could tell immediately tell were of superior quality. Cons: Sketchy wifi access, heavy resort fee and expensive buffet breakfast. The number of elevators for the property and their placement is definitely a con. You need to walk a ton to get from room to parking or room to beach especially if the room is towards the ends of the hotel wings on either side.

Situated on one of the best beaches in the world, this hotel is starting to look a bit dated but is all quality and amazing value for money. Could not recommend more highly!

A waitress(Asian) at Ocean View Terrace brunch buffet on 11/20/16 was rude by correcting my spouse on why his fork was placed on his empty dish.(she asked if we was done and he said no, she then replied "your fork is indicating you are!") and moved his fork off his plate!! It was NOT mentioned to my spouse in a friendly manner. She could improve on her politeness! And don't touch he wasn't done! The Cats( 2 spotted) on the property roaming around are NASTY! They poop! Makes one wonder? Are they there as keeping/ridding of something on the property off the property", never ever have we seen cats at Resort Stays! Gardening area could use better maintenance(Over grown greenery, weeds popping up between landscape, and dead branches on property have fallen from palm trees in area of walking access to pool just laying in path. Room cleanliness could be improved also. Noticeably its not spic and span, just up kept. The dbl. beds are worn out, sunk in- in the middle of mattress or too soft. 4-5 star rated should be spotless and extremely comfy. The price paid and quality this resort is known for felt more like a low rated hotel. The loungers at the pool deck are worn and faded, felt and looked dirty! Noticed a female pool attendant ( on11/20/16 around 430pm shift) clean off a little round table near the pool ledge by tilting the top of table into the pool to rinse it off with the pool water. NO,NO,NO!! OMG!!

Fantastic vacation get away. Unbelievable views from room, friendly staff, white sand beaches with umbrellas set up daily, big pool, went to sleep to sound of waves. Meals were expensive but good.

The hotel's architecture and views are breathtaking from the minute you walk into the lobby. The staff was very friendly, rooms clean. I was ill (stomach bug) for two days while there and the housekeeper brought me extra water and left it outside the door. (The bug was caught traveling there, not from the hotel.) The beach was white sand, calm, warm water. The pool was refreshing with food/drink service. The entire atmosphere was very relaxed and quiet. All the amenities you would expect and access to their sister location (Mauna Kea hotel). Three different restaurants--can be a little pricey. The pool is only open until 6 p.m. and all restaurants are closed by 10 p.m. There is room service as an option, though. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing vacation.

Really like Hapuna. I stayed same 3 nights at Hapuna , 3 nights on Sheraton, for only $40 more differences, Hapuna is better for the value.
