Always a pleasure to stay at the Hilo Hawaiian. Always our first choice.

Nice garden close by. Hilo downtown and airport nearby

Nice place friendly stuff. A very good place to stay in Hilo.

If you can pay the minimal extra to face the water, it is beautiful. There is a small balcony where you can see the water every day.

enjoyed the stay hotel was ck=lean and staff was nice

The bathroom needs updating. There was a an open package of lunchmeat left on the dresser. Looked spoiled and nasty. We only stayed overnight, and it was a good place to get a good night sleep before moving on.

Average, stayed at better hotels in the area with cheaper rates and a exercise facility.

The hotel is located very close to Hilo airport. It is located on Hilo Bay, backing up to a park and the shore. It was peaceful as well as nicely situated.

Nice hotel. Great location. Building just needs a little maintenance.

Rom was nice, beautiful view but the bed was hard

Excellent breakfast buffet, excellent staff, close to airport but not to close

Nothing terrible but nothing spectacular either. It is what I would expect from a hotel in Hawaii. Over priced, not a lot of updates to the property, but on the other hand the room was clean and the staff was friendly. There were birds making noises outside the hotel at night that were annoying - nothing the hotel can do about it unfortunately. Free parking and internet included were nice. I ate at the hotel restaurant and normally I would not be big on buffets but their seafood buffet that is on Friday and Saturday night was of good quality (you're in Hawaii so the price is higher than an equivalent on the mainland). I did not try breakfast as I left early in the morning. I would stay at this property again.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff could not have been nicer. Design of the property has a strong '60s aesthetic which I love. My room was clean and freshly remodeled. Very convenient to downtown Hilo and your volcano of choice. I will return.

Super Clean, friendly Staff very informative about the area a plus. Internet no problem. Go ahead & book this Hotel "Castel Hawaiian Hilo" you actually feel your at a way more expensive Hotel. Very Happy Guest :)

I've stayed here 3 times and have been pleased each time. Affordable and with a great location. Love walking around the nearby park.

Great stay, comfortable, amazing staff, accommodating to our needs. The bathroom had some like fungus looking stuff around the ceiling; perhaps because of the moisture on the wallpaper? I also noticed the elevator stainless steel doors were always stained, might need more frequent cleaning. Few things might need more attention; nonetheless, my stay at Castle Hilo Hawaiian was a amazing.

It's the first stop we had in Hawaii. We feel the people are friendly and relax right away. Very nice hotel! Staffs are very friendly. Rooms is very comfy and with great views. There is a very nice beach / seashore behind the hotel with coconut trees.

Got in late from LAX and couldn't go down to Volcano area till next day. This was close to the airport in a beautiful location near Banyan drive and the water. We had breakfast the next morning. Very good. Staff was accommodating.

Deluxe room the two queen beds large and comfortable.

After our second night it became very clear that the bed was the sole contributor to our lack of sleep. The third night we tossed and turned even more, had to get up to take the pressure off our hips, and had to constantly readjust. We're 30 and fit, not 65 with aging body issues. The comforter was paper thin, causing the AC to work a little too well at night. The pillows were like cardboard. Overall, the parking, location, service, cleanliness were all wonderful! The hotel just needs to invest in new beds and bed coverings.
