This was more than beautiful. Coffee on the lanai to the crashing waves was a beautiful way to end a Hawaiian vacation. The hotel was clean staff were amazing and very helpful I will be visiting again the next time I'm on the big island

Our unit smelled like mildew, urine and fried fish. The kitchen floor, counter tops, and stove were covered in grease. In fact, the floor was dangerous to walk on it was so greasy. We bought our own Lysol wipes, because when we asked for room deodorizers, they didn't have any, but it wouldn't have mattered. The odor was way beyond anything a plug in could have taken care of. Someone did come to our room to spray something in our air conditioning unit. It didn't make any difference at all. We knew of three other guests that were having the same problems with their units, so we checked out after less than 24 hours. We were becoming physically ill with headaches and nausea.

This condo complex has a great location right on the beach. The ocean view room is really a partial view, so if you want a full view go for the ocean front room. Our room was updated and the bathrooms and kitchen were nice. The bed was comfy but the furniture in the living area is bare minimum and not very comfortable. The couch was a roll away, but we never ended up using it so I'm not sure it even had sheets. There were no extra blankets or pillows but they did give us some old blue pool towels. We couldn't get the DVD player to work but they did have a free DVD rental box, and the tv got just a few channels. The kitchen was equipped with the bare minimum as well, but enough to do simple cooking. The maid service is simple towel replenishment and making the bed. - don't expect them to wipe any surfaces or do anything in the kitchen. Our toilet was dirty when we got there but they cleaned it better the next day. We used the pool the first night but the water smelled so bad we didn't use it again. They deny any construction but they were doing the landscaping and repairing and one of the units was getting redone so they Had padding up in the elevator. We couldn't really hear any noise though, so it didn't disrupt our stay. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. I think this place has potential but we were a little disappointed. The best part was the location right on the water and hearing the ocean and having that view on the lanai.

Great location in Kona. Away from the crowd, but close enough to be a short drive.

This hotel is very value to stay . Staff is very helpful. You need to find a restaurant for three meals. Will return again and recommend to friends. - Sue from Boston, USA

Fantastic view of ocean. Grilled out at sunset one night - very relaxing. Full updated kitchen helped with costs. Also had washer/dryer. Rooms larger than we expected, very clean. When had problem with sink it was fixed right away - left message with front desk since leaving early for Volcano and when we got back everything was done. Did not try to walk into town but if younger may have considered. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful getaway. Staff was awesome, location was great and rooms were clean! Will be back!

What a great group of employees, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the security personnel, housekeeping, parking attendants: Every single employee went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

Staff was warm and helpful.. especially the front desk reception and housekeeping. Clean.. right on the water. Not too far into town or to beaches. Awkward walk to pool through parking garage.

We had such a wonderful time on our vacation and would highly recommend Aston Kona By The Sea, The waves were truly awesome to watch and we really enjoyed watching them at night as there were lights directed out to the ocean. Our flight didn't take off until 10:00 pm on the day of our check out and they let us still have access to restrooms and their grounds even providing towels for us after we checked out. The place was centrally located for the activities we planned

The room was comfortable with a great view. We saw whales and turtles from our balcony. The staff was helpful in planning our stay. The pool and hot tub very convenient.

Excellent stay, staff was attentive to our needs. Rooms were first class and well kept up. Location was absolutely great. Our only issue was initial location of our room. We purchased an ocean front room and were placed in a room directly in front of the pool area which partially blocked the ocean. We made our case and were relocated to another room that was perfect. You may want to clarify with Aston what "ocean front" means. Otherwise, we will look forward to staying there again.

All was ready, even though we checked in an hour or so early. Unit was excellent. TV was poor to fair -- no HD or extra cable channels, but neither were a deal breaker. On the beach but not a swimming beach -- a disappointment. Close enough to restaurants but will equipped kitchen also. Concierge service was excellent and very helpful in getting to know the island and signing up for excursions. We would readily stay at this place again.

I loved the decor. The kitchen was well furished. Couldn't get any closier to the sea. Beautiful view! I didn't like the $80.00 amenty charge. I see know reason for it. I didn't like that I had to pay to print my boarding passes.

Good place to stay but I was hoping we would be able to get in the water from our hotel but there was not beach, just unsafe rocks and the little enclosure where it might have been safe did not always get filled with water. The fire alarm went off 2 nights in a row which disturbed our sleep but at least we knew it worked in case of a real fire!

Wonderful, the property was beautiful, and the view was breathtaking. We even got to be fly on the wall guests for a traditional Hawaiian wedding.

This is our second time here. The location is beautiful and the staff is good. The only complaint we had was our first night someone pulled the fire alarm and the alarm sound is not loud enough. If it wasn't for our son who was sleeping in the front of the unit my wife and I would have never have heard the alarm going off. And the hotel didn't call every room with people in it to alert them to the alarm. Other than that glitch it was a wonderful stay.

This hotel is close to the airport, close to shopping areas, and driving distance to all major scenic locations. The Staff was extremely friendly and courteous at this Hotel, and for my Wife and I, it was important to have a Washer/Dryer in the room, and cooking ability. There are Gas Grills right out by the water to grill your food on! The terraces are also nice too, as you can sit out and just listen to the waves and feel the cool Hawaiian breeze.

Nice accommodations, well equipped kitchen. There is no restaurant on site and the location is toward the end of the strip, but otherwise a clean and comfortable stay with breathtaking views.

The location and the view is really great. But they need to do something with their staff especially with their room service and management. A relatively expensive item disappeared in our room during our second day. But, the initial response from the management made it worse as they tried to downplay and ignore the incidence. We spend about three days talking with various people in different management ranks since they seemed no communication among themselves. When we finally told them that we are going to post this on customer reviews they started to listen and finally decided to refund our loss.
