Stayed there for 2 weeks, as I was in town for work. I liked the fact that the room was spacious, you had everything you needed in the kitchen, bathroom was spacious as well. The downside is that it was really cold in the room, heat did not cope, no cleaning!!, we had to ask someone to come and clean the room but just once. Breakfast was okay. Overall it was not that bad, but I would try something else next time.
We found the hotel easily right next to the river which was the best part of it. The room had no air conditioning and it was incredibly hot in September. We had to pay 10 Euros for internet access, 5 Euros for a small fan to cool us down and 30 (yes Thirty) Euros to use their car park. There was no restaurant nearby and we didn't want to drive into town looking for a parking space. They said it would take 10 minutes to walk to a street with places to eat but although I walk with a stick it took us 40 minutes to get there. What they failed to tell us is that most of the restaurants stop serving at 9 in the evening. We had paid another 24 Euros for two hot breakfasts but the eggs and meat was completely cold. What a waste of money.
We pre booked this hotel for our return journey from the south of France, what a mistake! The family room we booked stank of cigarettes, so I went to complain and was offered some spray to make better. And besides there is no smoking, but the smoke detector was missing! They then offered a replacement which did not smell as bad but had a sock covering the smoke detector! (See pic) We also found out very quickly that they didn't have AC and the room was 37 degrees. But you could purchase a fan for 2 Euro along with 5 euro for wifi and about 7 euro for parking which was secure! Breakfast was another 9 euro each! We didn't hang about to try it though!!! I recommend not staying at this hotel as there are far better about! Stay well clear!
We were in Javea , and needed a stop off point midway back to Calais. Couldn't afford any Bordeaux hotels so booked this place on Booking.con (I had never heard of , or been to Limoges). All booking info came in French (yes it's France but booked on a UK site.) Arrived around 9pm , the place was shut , good luck getting in ...Eventually some people came out and we rushed in. The keys are kept in a safe , we couldn't open it ,a Dutch guy tried , then some others. Bingo it opened , 20 sets of keys on envelope s awaiting collection. Took ours ... Rooms OK ,clean, with adequate stuff, no qualms for 45 e a night for two . Went out , people trying to get into safe, into building... Drove around Limoges,it was dead and expensive, went into a Kebab shop and had a sit down for 4 , the kebab was awesome, far better than UK , the guy made it himself. 20 e with drinks ,a result ! Went back to hotel , people still trying to get in lol. Went down the next day to check breakfast , at 9e a head it sucked, we decided to go to a patisserie instead ,( lunch baguettes, croissant s ,doughnuts, muffins and coffee 16e,) Wi-Fi ,Parking ,Breakfast are all extras .. Now I know how this place works I would definitely use them again for an overnight stay, room has fridge and booking facilities.. English signs would be a bonus !
TheAppart City accommodation in Limoges is in a quiet setting by a river. The apartment has everything that you need , small cooker, microwave and dishwasher, similar to all Apart City accommodation. Having said that there are a couple of restaurants just across a bridge and also a lovely pattisere to save using them!!!!
The reception is only manned part time. So if you arrive on a Sunday or when the receptionist has gone home you will be given a code to get you into reception, then another code to get into a safe for your room key. We saw lots of people struggle to get into the building. My husband saw a lady with a baby struggling to get in so he went down to help her. Not what you need after a long day travelling. Very basic accommodation. Not the cleanest place we have stayed in. The place needs a refurb. Not a very nice area. Limoges is a good 20 minute walk away. The nearest supermarket was too far away to walk to.
I have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions - both long weekends, while viewing a potential holiday home purchase in the area. The apartments were clean and comfortable and the reception staff and breakfast room staff always friendly and helpful. Being able to come and go as I pleased and make my own meals and refreshments was ideal.
This hotel offers well decorated spacious rooms and small studios, they are also equipped with the basic kitchen equipments the bad thing that it is EXPENSIVE!!, and although there are no persons in the reception after 08:00 pm but there is a telephone service that can help.
Searched for a cheap hotel but found better with this studio: arrived too late but thanks to good organisation got key anyway from locker and found room was better than expected for that price. Recomm
