This hotel was fantastic. From the moment we walked in Leticia was extremely helpful! The hotel staff was great, but I must say that Leticia went above and beyond (and her English was fantastic!) and the cleaning ladies were always so polite every time you saw them. The hotel itself is just a 1-2 min walk away from the busier areas of the city, which for us, was perfect. It was quiet at night and wasn't overrun with people all around all day. The location is beautiful, atop the cliff, with access to the boulder beach below. They also have a pool which is kept very clean. The room was excellent. Decent size for a European hotel, everything relatively updated. The wifi was consistent and fast the whole time. We had the sea view room with the balcony-the view was breath-taking! We only ate the breakfast there, which was decent. We didn't eat dinner as we like to experience a different restaurant each night and this one didn't have the greatest reviews. Overall, this hotel really was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was going to stay in Calvi.

Our room was ok but the view was wonderful and the bed very comfortable and it was very easy to get the room at a comfortable temperature with the air conditioning unit. The location was very good as it was very close to the town, shops ,restaurants, marina, railway and beach but didn't hear any noise at night. We thought Corsica was quite expensive for food drinks etc. We were part of a group and at first the food was very poor but after complaining the standard went up considerably. The swimming pool although small was very nice with a lovely "view over the sea.

We stayed at Saint Christophe for 12 nights and found it a perfect place to enjoy Calvi. The location is amazing - wonderful view right next to the citadel and very close to the marina and main town. The pool is nice - though perhaps a little small we always found sun beds - and the garden and flowers around it are lovely. We found the reception staff helpful and friendly - even helped get my keys to the airport when I left them behind! Because of the choice of many excellent restaurants in Calvi we didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on dinner, but lunch at the pool bar was disappointing in terms of choice and time it was available (not after 1.30pm). Breakfast was OK for continental (we didn't fancy the cooked options). Room (201) with side balcony was lovely - spacious bathroom and good air con. Not modern but very pleasant. All in all a great stay and Calvi itself is a fabulous holiday location - scenery, food and friendliness hard to beat!

I would support wholeheartedly the comments made by my fellow traveller with Omega hols last week. Having read the reviews before the holiday about how good the food was we were very optimistic. The hotel itself is probably one of the best sited in Calvi, on the edge of cliffs overlooking the sea and the citadel, but oh dear me the food! As the week went on we came to the conclusion that as a group of 22 we were being treated as ' second best' guests. First off we were told to be at breakfast between 7 and 8.30. 8.30!! Ye Gods we were on holiday! We noticed other guests still in dining room around 10am. It seemed they wanted us 'out of the way' of the 'real guests'. That was only the start of the meal time fiasco. I would say generally the starter was not bad at all but the main courses were not up to standard. Again we noticed other guests being served food that was on the menu for the day ( there wasn't a choice) but instead of for example, dauphinoise potato we got a mound of soggy pasta. One lady refused it and dared to complain and out came the chef like a bull at a gate with a torrent of French invective! As he stormed off at that point most of our table got up and left- you don't treat guests like that. That kind of set the tone for the week. Out of seven nights we tolerated the hotel food for three and ate out the other four nights. This increased our holiday spending considerably as we were paying twice. It was not a cheap holiday and included two full day excursions. We have been in lots of hotels and never experienced such poor food.It really let the hotel down. As a group we all developed a 'gallows' humour about the whole affair. I would not recommend the hotel as part of a group, and if anyone about to travel there with Omega is getting a sinking feeling, go & experience it & let us know on here what it was like. We did complain via our rep while we were there. It may improve but I ain't holding my breath!

We had a brilliant week staying at this hotel. We could not fault the food, staff, and room. I visited Calvi 30 years ago and it hasn't changed very much I am still in love with the the place. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here as group with Omega Travel last week. Because we were a group we were segregated for breakfasts with less choice than other residents. I had to ask for slices of bread as our choice were very hard crusty rolls or croissant. Scrambled egg was smelly and on occasions grey in colour. We were offered no choice for evening meals. Beef bourguignon consisted of 5/6 pieces of scraggy shin beef in watery gravy. Pork fillet was very tough and fatty. Lamb was tasty but again not much of It and fatty. Most meals were accompanied by soggy pasta and tinned vegetables. Deserts were strange. Tinned fruit and ice cream! The so called 'chef' should be ashamed! Profiteroles were lovely as were cheese pastry and mushroom vol-au-vent. Otherwise pleasant, clean hotel with good helpful staff.

Located near the centre of Calvi overlooking the citadel. Our room was clean and comfortable. A good 3 star hotel. main drawback was we had to vacate the room at 9am which was really not convenient and unheard of in my experience.

This Hotel is situated in such a wonderful place and the hotel looks majestically down to the sea as well as over to the Citadel. We had a balcony overlooking the pool area, the sea and the Citadel - perfect. The staff were quietly efficient, the food was good as long as you don't want scrambled egg!! - The pool was just big enough with plenty of sun beds around for us, there is a lovely small stairway down to the rocks from where you can get into the sea for a swim too. The town is brimming with restaurants so you have plenty of choice. - only a few minutes walk away to the harbor and the town. The Beach too is well worth going to, just a wonderful setting of a backdrop of mountains as you laze on the sunbeds, wonderful sand and warm sea to swim in. A perfect spot - will certainly be going there again.

Hotel very clean and rooms were adequately furnished and serviced well and regularly. Restaurant food is somewhat unusual with some strange dishes and combinations served at times. (Plenty of rice and fish). Breakfast is hectic with a simple two slice toaster, to serve over 40 people, and queues for food. Only ever had scrambled egg, "sausages" and "bacon" for seven days!! Other choice of croissants and bread with preserves. Unusual rule of "if you use the fridge in your room you will be charged 10 Euros per day"!!!! What!!!! Samba the restaurant manager is a star and is always helpful and pleasant. He makes the hotel tick over. Excellent hotel location and the views are second to none. Ask for a sea view with balcony and a high level floor. No lift so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Overall we had a very good week stay.

Hotel St Christophe is a basic 3 star hotel, situated in a prime position overlooking the sea and Citadel. There are 3 floors and no lift. The floors are numbered in reverse, so the top floor is the first floor. The people on reception (as stated in previous reviews) are not very welcoming. They hardly ever acknowledge you and rarely speak unless spoken to and then it is just cursory. However the staff at breakfast, are a delight; especially Anna and Samba. We had a slight issue with our room. I had booked a double sea view room with balcony and was given a side sea room with balcony. When I asked at reception if we could change to a front sea room, we were told that “you booked a sea view room, you have a sea view room. She then said that as we were staying for 2 weeks she would see if we could be moved for the second week. We followed this up but, it never happened. In retrospect, the side sea view was probably the better option as the sun blazed down on the front sea/Citadel view and the Citadel/pool view most of the day and the side sea view was cooler. The room itself was fine, albeit a little on the small side. The ‘so needed’ air conditioning was fantastic and very quiet. The double beds were actually twin beds pushed together, but rather comfy. The shower was great and there was a separate toilet; both were kept immaculate. Dressing gowns are provided and the towels are big and fluffy. The safe is free, but if you put anything in the fridge, you will incur a fee of 10 Euros per day. The walls of the room are thin and we could hear the conversations and the TV at night, of both rooms on either side of ours. Cleaning starts early so no need for an early morning wake up call if you need one. Wi Fi is free, when it works, and you need a new password every 3 days. The continental breakfast can be taken sitting on the balcony, overlooking the citadel. Basic yes, but more than adequate to set you up. There is a tiny bar in the reception area and a sheltered terrace area in which to sit outside. We had booked via Corsican Places and were told by the rep, at the welcome meeting, that they don’t book excursions, you had to book them yourself in the town. That was a first for us. We booked to see Corte - a beautiful old town. A sea trip - amazing rock formations and The Old Villages - the best trip. Calvi is a beautiful town with breathtaking scenery, lovely harbour, delightful cobbled streets and little discovery walks. We did find however that English is not widely spoken in Corsica, so it would be a good idea to have a smattering of French.
