We had a very quiet two night stay at this little "home". We were two friends and a five-year-old, visiting other friends and Hershey Park, which is about 15-20 minute drive away. The location is a little remote... no shops or restaurants within walking distance. The bed and linens were comfortable, the decor was mainstream and updated, and the kitchen was stocked with a few necessities. The service is bare-bones... no ice machine or room service. However, our stay included a nice breakfast buffet with lots of choices. It ends at 10:00am, and you better get there early because at 9:59 they start removing food, even with a crowded room full of hungry people and line of kids 4 or 5 deep waiting for the waffle iron. It was chaotic, and a little irritating to have a big serving dish of hot eggs but not have the spoons to dish it out (she took them away first, lol!) So, arrive early. We had a nice visit to the pool one afternoon and there were a couple other parties hanging out there, which felt lively. I felt like the hotel was expensive ($350/night) for what they offered, but most of the options in the area had comparable prices, so apparently it is in line with the market. This is probably better for a longer term stay than two nights, when a visitor wants to take advantage of the kitchen in the room and doesn't need a restaurant.
We recently stayed for an extended period of time and many flaws were noticed over that time. The first room had mildew on the bathroom ceiling. We changed rooms after that. Housekeeping was understaffed, per the front desk, and we had multiple days when no one came by. We had other days when housekeeping came after 6:00 pm. The TV reception was inconsistent and would cut out multiple times per day. There were never more than one or two towels in the pool area. The breakfast was extremely average. The topper was at checkout. Earlier in the week we requested, and were given, a late checkout. Upon checkout day, we were called in the morning to ask why we were still in the room. While trying to pack up to leave, we found out (the hard way) that our room keys were deactivated.
We stayed at this hotel a week ago for our family reunion. Room was very nice; we were in the newer property. However, on the two nights we were there you could hear loud thumping and heavy walking after midnight. Breakfast was so-so, it would be nice if they offered fried potatoes. On Sunday morning the breakfast was sausage and gravy with biscuits. No thank you! I used the gym once and I was the only in the facility at the time so it was nice. There was really nothing on the television in the suite and the remote control would not program the sleep timer. I don't think I would stay at this particular property again.
We had our cats with us, but $273.00/night was ridiculous. The good was we liked having a kitchen, and the beds were comfy, but the shower curtains had mold on them and the shower was old. We stayed a few years ago and it had many more supplies in them. Much nicer on our last stay. Disappointed, but the evening snacks were nice. The breakfast was ok but not great. This room was cheaply furnished and the air didn't work very well. I can't imagine going ever again. Bring back the little extras and get clean shower curtains.
Pretty sure they use Dish or similar , having reliable TV reception is a base line for a hotel. Surprised it was so poor here. Everything else was fine, but poor TV is not something to be overlooked. TV would come in for a few minutes, cut out then, back.
Ok my wife and I went on vacation and we took this hotel based on points/rewards. We were upgraded which was nice but the room which included a loft bedroom and bath was simply to large for A/C to cool. The system froze up and night one was warm. This hotel is the older style Residence Inn and it was not very updated. One of three days the maid service did little in our room and left me thinking they had stopped cleaning and left or forgot to return to complete the job. Breakfast was standard fare and ok. Not nearly enough seating for the full hotel but still we managed. This would not be my first choice on a return visit to the area.
We stayed here and last year and were so pleased we chose to stay here again. However, this will be the last time as the the stay was certainly not up to the standards from last year. We checked in Thursday evening and the woman at the front desk was very pleasant. We stayed in the penthouse 3 bedroom and while the room was nicely appointed there was garbage left from the previous guests left in the room and food in the refrigerator. We didn't say anything and took care of it ourselves. The next day we went to Hershey Park and returned to the room at six o clock in the evening to find our room not serviced. My husband went to the front desk to get two cups of coffee and to request clean towels and soap. The woman at the front desk told him they had no more coffee and that they only do that Monday through Thursday, however at check in they give you a print out of their services and that is listed as a service they offer 24/7. As to the lack of housekeeping, we were told " they are still out there". The manager brought us towels and shampoo. Another worker brought us a vacuum to do our own room! Our family travels extensively and I have never experienced anything like this ever. An employee told my husband that four housekeepers have quit recently and after our experience with how this situation was handled I am not surprised if they have had a turnover of staff. It is quite unfortunate because the hotel offers many amenities and the proximity to area attractions can't be beat. I will not be giving my family's business to this establishment again.
Great property - safe area, clean, friendly and reasonable. We didn't realize that on Monday nights they provide snacks for their guests and free wine. We enjoyed humus, pita bread, vegetables, and great dips (along with great tasting cookies). After a long day of traveling, it was a delicious surprise. They serve guests food on Mondays and Tuesday and every other Wednesday. As Marriott gold members, we were upgraded to a suite - full kitchen, living area, bedroom and large sink area and bathroom /shower area. Breakfast was good - typical of Marriott properties. Would definitely return - and hopefully, it would be on a night they're providing some snacks!
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room was relatively clean. Beds were comfortable. Room was quiet. Amenities are nice. Nice sort of resort layout. Close to I-81 and a few minutes drive from some shops and dining. Complimentary breakfast was OK. Typical scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, waffles. Some fruit and yogurt. Couple types of cereal. Mixer...evening "reception"...well, after a long day of driving, it allowed us to get a bite to eat without having to drive anywhere. Choice of the evening was sausage on a bun, chips and pretzels. Buns were very stale...falling apart...yuk. The wine was horrible and the beer was very "light" yes this means weak. But, it was a complimentary option, so worth the money...hehehe. We'll stop again.
We stayed for a baseball tournament for the weekend. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, stores and restaurants nearby. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool and hoop court outside. Free breakfast was a nice plus. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommend.
