Red Lion Harrisburg Hershey

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The Red Lion gave us accessibility to Hershey, Downtown Harrisburg and the airport. A large room and helpful staff. Location convenient but heavy traffic.

We stayed here after the rodeo it was nice great. However, the hostess that signed us in said there was free food being served with the crew coming from the rodeo. We went down and found out that we had to pay.

I stay at Red Lion every time I come home to visit my family. This past visit was the Friday before Xmas through Monday. The room was okay, but the buffet breakfast on Christmas morning was a nightmare. The restaurant attendant attentive, but clearly exhausted do to long hours and being overworked. The bacon on the buffet was uncooked and the eggs were over cooked. When I asked for decaf, he said he had to brew a batch and it still came to me cold. Not sure what happen there! Anyway, you all need to do a better job with scheduling during the holidays. In addition, you really should bring in a much more pleasant and better keep bartender. Overall, you all are making progress. But, you have much more work to do.

Much effort made on front end appearance. Dated carpeting and appearance as you got further away from main area. Room with plenty of room and beds comfortable. However, no refrigerator or microwave in room.

We checked in to a hotel expecting as advertised but it is very old and worn. The sofas in lobby are old and saggy, the tv has blue goo running down the screen - distracting from watching sports. The hallways have terrible and stained carpet, trim and doors that have been painted probably 100 times and chipped/dirty. The room had a stained carpet, uncomfortable bed and sofa and the very worst part was the room was bottom floor corner facing a very ugly wall! It was the worst room in the place with a disgusting patio. The place wasn't full but we got the worst room for some reason! I would not recommend this hotel as there are so many others that are nicer to choose from. When we go back for the RV show again, it won't be this place ever. I travel a lot and had Red Lion in WA not long ago and it was great so I chose this one thinking it would be just as nice but sadly that was not the case

I've stayed in this hotel for several times. My luggage was always rather heavy while the staff were always nice and helpful.

When we checked in it was 11pm and we were leaving thw next morning. So we did not check out the rest of the hotel. There was only one person at front desk ans there were groups of people checking in at the same time. It took about an hour to finally get us checked in. The room was pretty spacious and clean. Good for the price. I will stay there again.

It was a busy weekend so most hotels were booked, the red lion still had rooms available (at $160/night) the staff was extremely friendly and overall the cleanliness of the room and building was good. The ceilings were all slanted, rooms dated, and the wifi didn't work, which for $16O bummed me out but overall my list of complaints is small.

We stayed here to sleep and that's it. The kid pool play area looked nice and the pool, but we didn't have time to use it. Breakfast wasn't included, but they did offer a buffet for around $13. Food looked good but we didn't spend the money for it.

Overall not too bad. Room was nice, except it didn't come with a refrigerator. Pool was clean. Hot tub would have used a cleaning.

Dear Jenn, We appreciate your time and courtesies in sharing your stay with us. My apologies for the elevator bars. Once we were made aware of the situation, we quickly fix it. We did have concession food sales available after the rodeo and regret that you were informed there was free food. Thank you for your business. We hope to accommodate you again next year. Best regards, Randall J. Stuart, CHA, CHME General Manager

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to offer us feedback of your most recent visit with us. We regret to learn of your disappointment with our Christmas breakfast buffet. I accept complete responsibility for your less than satisfactory experience. We tried to give some of our team members extra days off to spend with their families, but in hindsight, I should have prepared much better. Your feedback will be used as a teachable moment and we will prepare much better during the Christmas holiday next year. Thank you for your business. We wish you and your family a very happy New Year! Sincerely, Randall J. Stuart, CHA, CHME General Manager

Dear Diane, We regret to learn our accommodations failed to meet your expectations. As a valued guest, we strive to provide comfort and value 24/7. Clearly we did not come close to our commitment with your visit. Hallway and guest room carpets are deep cleaned regularly and will continue to be until they are replaced. I will review your comments in detail with the housekeeping and maintenance team to ensure we address your condition/cleanliness concerns immediately. Please accept my sincere apologies for giving you the impression we were a newer hotel. We hope to earn back your trust and confidence in our accommodations when you visit the area again next year. Sincerely, Randall J. Stuart, CHA, CHME General Manager

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your business and sharing your experience with us. We regret to read the WiFi did not work during your visit. We reset the routers and access points, which solved the issue. It's unfortunate we caused such an inconvenience for you - my apologies. I discussed the need with our IT team to check the WiFi signal weekly to ensure there are no issues moving forward. We hope to have another opportunity to serve you again. Sincerely, Randall J.
