I was originally supposed to stay in a different hotel when I came to Harrisburg for a wine and chocolate Valentine's Day gift. The hotel had overbooked and sent candlewood a letter that we were to get a free stay and charge the other hotel for our night. The candlewood asked for our card and charged us anyways. Not only were we out the money (for 4 days from our debit until I made several phone calls) but the hotel was in a horrible location. It is a 2 minute drive from a prison!! Which we discovered when we had to go get pizza since there were few places who would deliver. We also had a stranger enter our hotel room since the door didn't lock very well and we had to go find his parents. Our original hotel offered free breakfast and this place wouldn’t even give us a toothbrush unless we paid for it since my bf forgot his!! I've tried to contact management but despite their "24 hour return" I haven't heard back! I am very upset with this chain and will never stay in a candlewood or IHG hotel again!

This is a nice enough hotel. The room was large and we were comfortable. We did encounter a problem in the lobby where a lot of air freshener was smell in lobby. The internet was terribly slow and there was no video streaming here. I liked the free popcorn bags in the lobby. I usually just get one bag in my room at this brand. The freezer was also in serious need of being defrosted!!

The front desk staff was amazing. I normally post the negatives first, but honestly I don't have any. Clean spacious rooms, pool area was cozy, and tall yet comfortable beds. We felt very comfortable and safe at this hotel. We will definitely book here again!

Stayed Thu 11/02/2017 with a reward night. Check in was fast and friendly. Our clean, larger than average extended stay room had the full kitchen typical of Candlewood. All expected amenities were available in our 2 queen suite. Flooring and everything else in the room was clean and well maintained. Our beds were comfortable with fresh linen and 4 pillows. WIFI had easy access and was very stable. The smallish TV had plenty of channels. Everything in the bathroom worked as designed. The shower had average water pressure, plenty of hot water and adequate clean towels. We were on an upper floor which was quiet. No foul smells in the non-smoking room or any bugs were detected. We always like the free laundry at Candlewood and took advantage of it here. Overall, a pretty good stay.

I was optimistic at check in. My room was clean, hershey kissed by the bed, and free popcorn in the microwave, but then I tried to take a nap in preparation of working night shift that evening. I was continuously hearing doors slam and bounce off of door latches (this went on for hours). I assumed this was rude people staying in the hotel, until I noticed it was the cleaning lady. She had 3-4 doors all sitting on the latches and would just let the doors slam on the latches this was not just loud it would shake the walls. A $1 door stop or a dirty towel laid on the floor between the door and the sill is all it would have taken to fix this. I asked here to stop and it did get quieter for a half hour or so until she got further down the hall and began again. I stay in hotels 200+ days per year and have never noticed anyone to just let doors slam and bounce all day. I checked out the next day when it happened again. I know they have to do their job and if it was just the vacuum while in the rooms near me would have lived with it, but 3-4 hours per day of doors slamming on latches is inconsiderate, incompetent, and ridiculous. Three of my co-workers were staying in the hotel and all of them complained about the same issue. This is an extended stay place people are here during the day a minimal amount of courtesy would be nice. I did let the front desk staff know and they seemed oblivious as to why this was a problem.

This hotel is set off of the main road. Quiet area. Mall and Sheetz nearby. Clean, spacious room. Staff was very helpful and super courteous. Hershey park, Hershey Gardens and the Giant Center were within a 15 minute drive.

This hotel was perfect for a 3 night stay. It was clean snd spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative is they only have 1 elevator. This is my first candlewood experience. I would definitely stay again.

Our church group recently had an overnight stay at this hotel after we left Hershey Park which is only about 15 minutes away. We check into the hotel kinda late at this time the only staff member that was on duty was the front desk attendant. We had a total of 14 rooms and the hotel was completely full. One of our rooms was not cleaned and they did not have anyone on site to clean the room. However Alexxus immediately got on the phone and had someone to come in an clean the room. They also accommodated us for the inconvenience. We also had another issue with the tub not draining properly once again Alexxus handled the situation and got maintenance to come in and check the problem out which turned out to be no problem at all. The rooms were really nice and the good really out weighed the bad. We even needed another room Alexxus got on the phone and was calling around to other hotels trying to help us find a another room. Alexxus went far and beyond and never lost her cool. She is an amazing person and I would recommend staying here.

My church group booked a stay at Candlewood suites overnight from our visit to Hershey Park. We had a significantly size group and booked 14 rooms. Of the 14 rooms, one was very dirty. So much so, that the room was not cleaned from the previous guests. I reached out to the front desk receptionist to seek remediation of the issue. There was no housekeeping staff available. After discussion, the receptionist called in the supervisor to get the room cleaned, and provided our room with reward bucks to use in the hotel pantry. Further, we were refunded our stay for the room. This is why I say this was a bad experience but the hotel immediately made right. I would recommend staying here. The staff is very professional and will accommodate within their rules.

I visited Harrisburg last week. Stayed in this hotel. Well maintained, clean and courteous service. We truly love this's perfect location on hills with shopping complex around. I recommend this hotel if you want zero regrets.
