After many years I stayed again at The Althoff Fürstenhof October 15 - 21,2017. The hotel is nicely renovated, but has maintained its charm. My room was spacious, clean and the service was superb. The art pieces at the restaurant "Entenfang" and the decorations throughout the hotel are admirable. The location near the castle of former dukes is excellent, only a short walk from the center of the city with its half timber houses of centuries ago.
This hotel was even better in real life than on the photos. Classic and elegant, nice and friendly staff and very good location with walking distance to central Celle. The rooms are great, especially the beds
we spend the weekend at this lovely hotel, the italian restaurant was very like a high end trattoria in Italy, and the food was well prepared. And the rooms was a 5 star room and the sauna and swimmingpool was clean and with a lot of towels
It was such a nice experience to stay in this property, I was not expecting such a great decoration and classic architecture of this historic building. Very convenient location close to the old town and Celle castle. All was complemented by a great service from the staff and a delicious breakfast. Great experience of the German hospitality.
We stayed for ons night while visiting family. The hotel is beautiful on the outside and have a classic decoration. The restaurated rooms are lovely and the beds are comfortabel. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet with lot of choice, and then the staff they are very attendeer.
I had the good fortune to stay here for 3 nights while I was on a business trip. The hotel is amazing. I loved everything about it. The decoration is spectacular, the grounds gorgeous, and the rooms are lovely. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. And last but not least, the breakfast buffet was EXCELLENT! The only thing that I would change was that I wish that they would have a couple of complimentary bottles of drinking water in the rooms for the guests. I think that this is very standard worldwide.
I stay two months and the staff was very attended the rooms was big and classic. The Palio restaurant was my favorite the staff was so friendly and special thanks to Enrica for a wonderful services also Mike one of the hotel manager.
We booked a weekend stay at this hotel in the nice town of Celle. The reception and lounge are very nice. I guess because of the offer we had kind off a standard room that was somewhat outdated albeit very clean. Service is very friendly. The hotel has two restaurants, an Italian one and a more traditional one. The last one has a very good reputation but was closed in the vacation period. The only criticism is that they mention the presence of a gym but it only has a bicycle and a step machine. But, despite that, a very nice stay.
We were very pleased with this gem in the magnificent town of Celle. We had no idea what a beautiful hotel this is, and it even has a one star Michelin star restaurant and another delightful looking Italian restaurant on site. The sitting room is so warm and inviting even in summer. By winter we can imagine this room to be full of good cheers and glasses raised to toast for friendship and love. The room is on a small size but at least you can get a great night sleep and not be disturbed by traffic noise. Breakfast was superb too.
Very nice hotel, conveniently located in walking distance from everything worth seing in beautiful Celle. Excellent breakfast and comfortable, spacious rooms. Very service-minded staff. We had dinner in the terrasse of the Palio restaurant and got a pre-fixed 3-course menu. It took more than 2 hours to serve the menu which was too long, in our opinion. Half an hour before we got anything to drink and 30-40 minutes waiting time between each course. Kitchen seemed to be understaffed. Hotel a bit worn and they did not have everything listed on the drinks card. Also, the elevator was out of order and could only go to fourth floor - although there are rooms on fifth and sixth floor also. Minor details perhaps, but not good enough for a 5-star hotel.
