The room was not spacious but it was comfortable and due to the weather we spent a fair bit of time in it. We ate in the restaurant and was very happy with what we were served. We really enjoyed having our coffee in front of the large log fire. The village and the hot springs are well worth a visit. On our last morning the weather was nice and we could see the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Will probably consider another visit sometime
We enjoyed our stay here at the Hertage Hanmer Springs to relax after a very busy tour of the South Island. The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfast. Thank u for a nice stay.
A typical average NZ hotel that leaves you neither impressed or disappointed. Grounds are lovely but you don't sleep in the garden, rooms are very basic and very boring. There was only three small wall lights and a lamp in our room so it was very dark, you had to move the lamp to over by the tea and coffee making area to see what you were doing even with the curtains open. Beds ok, shower ok, bathroom ok, TV small, no safe. Hotel staff were very good, friendly and helpful.
Fabulous family escape, friendly staff and lovely room. The breakfast was phenomenal. We loved the history about hanmer springs which was evident in the amazing historic building. We will definitely stay again.
Very friendly and helpful staff, offered help to our room and if we needed anything else. Great room and facilities, great relaxing atmosphere. Fantastic breakfast, everything you could ask for. A very relaxing stay and the view from our room and breakfast room absolutely stunning.
An absolute dream location, right in the middle of the Salzburg of New Zealand, Hanmer Springs. The building and grounds are beautiful and there is so much to do in the area in all seasons. Book early as rooms are always at a premium.
After reading some reviews on this hotel was worried about the standard of the rooms. Well I need have not worried, the Rooms oozed Character and were so warm. The beds !!! First time where I went to sleep and stayed asleep on a hotel bed. They were amazing. The way the floors creaked in the hallway added atmosphere to the hotel. The Hotel was handy to cafes and bars. The Hot Pools a few minutes walk away. Staff were helpful and smiling. Would love to come back again Oh did I mention about the beds, lol
We check out very early tomorrow morning (in six hours!) and it is definitely fair to say that we are going to really miss it!! The grounds are absolutely beautiful to take a wander through and I imagine in the Summer months the pool area must be packed as it is so spacious and plenty of room to sunbathe and swim! It would be amazing if they could have it open through winter as a heated pool! The staff were very polite. The hotel itself is lovely. We have loved our room. Love the decor and history and ambience of this hotel. They even have pillow menus so you can choose different pillows to suit your comfort needs! And the beds... best sleep we have had in a long time, heavenly. I noted prior to staying that a couple of people had commented on the creaky floors - this only really happened a few times but to be honest it is just all part of the character of this beautiful hotel. Its location is also perfect - right there in the middle of the town with the hot springs, the village shops, cafes etc right at your doorstep. Thank you Heritage Hanmer Springs, we have absolutely loved our time here!!
Beautiful building and grounds. Excellent location in centre of town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean comfortable. Great mountain views. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Only issue would be accessibility to upstairs rooms as didn't see a lift.
We stayed in a stand alone 3 bedroom villa and it had everything we wanted plus more! It was modern and clean and had a lovely outlook over the duck pond or Hamner Springs depending on which window you looked out. Little touches like good books on the bookshelf and a washing machine and dryer in the garage made it even more special along with a fireplace and wood if you wanted to light it along with a heatpump keeping it cosy. Handy location to the hotsprings and town. Friendly, helpful staff who knew who you were even though our stay was short. Made the last night of our holiday memorable.
