Holiday Inn Hangzhou City Center4.0 out of 5.0

I stayed here for 2 nights in June and found the hotel very comfortable. Service was efficient and well catered for. It was raining heavily during our visit but the hotel made sure there were enough umbrellas to go around. Breakfast was more than ample with a good selection. We did not eat for dinner here as we travelled out with friends. Rooms were comfortable and roomy. The Wifi was a little slow but good enough to be able to complete some business emails. I will visit again probably in November. They have a good Sports Bar on the 2nd level.
I tried Holiday Inn Hangzhou City Center for the first time because I wanted a new location to explore despite being in Hangzhou several times. I must say the location is a bit off from the city center but it is still within close distance from the West Lake. Further, there's a Metro line nearby but I haven't tried. Upon check in, the room is ready. The hotel recognized me as an IHG member and offered me welcome drinks. I went to the room after and my initial impression is that the room is old and has that distinct smell of being unused for quite some time. The internet is fast and the bed is soft. Toilet has tub. The air conditioning system is working properly which is a must since I visited Hangzhou in summer. I also visited the health club, which is not operated by the hotel. Being an external operator, the facility is particularly busy at night especially the pool. I think some are members or the facility and not guests of the hotel. Naturally, the changing area is very busy. Sauna is available but not the steam. No jacuzzi as well. The property, although being an external operator and not directly managed by the hotel, should still maintain the quality as it still carries the impression being a Holiday Inn hotel. Other than this I see no problem with the hotel. The breakfast has selections of Western and Asian cuisines, but it tends to be busy at times. However; the turnover of the tables is fast. Most staffs here do speak English so there's not much to worry about communications.
This hotel allowed me to stay and pay cash as IHG Ambassador member,(While my credit card was lost!) Nice bed, good breakfast, good service, cant really complain. Location is not so good. Not many shops and restaurants that are close to the hotel. About 30-40 minutes walk to good places to shop and eat. Taxis were not readily available either.
We booked this hotel at the last minute and stayed for 5 nights in April 2017. We are very pleased with this hotel, good location, excellent breakfast with both Asian and Western food. The room was very clean, bathroom and funiture are new and comfortable especially the bed and pillows. We had a really nice stay with the reasonable price. Highly recommend it.
I stayed in Holiday inn in April 2017 for about 2 weeks, The room was well lit and ventilated with cozy bathroom. I was surprised on my birthday by the Front desk manager (Reception) with a freshly baked cake in the room on my birthday. Pressing Iron, electric kettle and hair dryer, little torch by bedside table, umbrella you can use etc. Breakfast and the restaurants were ok. Laundry service is superb and the wifi is free and fast!
I have written about this Hotel before, and I still want to say this is a very good Place to stay. Great Value for Money! The reason that I am Writing now, is the following happened: I ran into the General manager in the elevator and later in the restaurant. He said hello in his usual nice way and I took the opportunity to give him two minor proposals for guest service impovements. just an hour later I could see that he did not only pick it up but also made it happen right away. That is also a, I Think, a very important part of the quality of any service instution like a hotel, that they really listen to their cusyomers and also show that by making improvemnts. I Think this is really worth the appreciation and should be known by everyone. Thanks!
Despite the construction work next to the hotel and me being a light sleeper, there was very little noise and ear plugs (provided by hotel) did the trick. Reception surprised me with a cake in the room on my birthday which was lovely and attention to detail was great - for example, good iron available, little torch by bedside table, umbrella you can use etc. The room was very spacious and all refurbished. Conference facilities good and staff were very helpful! Breakfast and the restaurants were ok. Laundry service could be better but the wifi is free and super fast!
Staying in holiday inn Hangzhou Very old and worn out hotel.Toilet very small and old style.foul smell coming in corridor. Paid 120 US dollar but not even 4* standard Area around also not interesting Needs renovation badly Many better options at this price
This is a old property. Per night charge did not make sense. No good lobby, construction at the entrance road. The whole feel was not that good. Lobby bar lacked lighting. Not far from train station. We stayed for one night.
When you stay at Holiday Inn hotels in China, the fact is that even the Express by Holiday Inns are much better than that of 4* holiday inns in the UK. So a standard 4* Holiday inn in China will surprise you with luxury, in terms of service and facilities. The hotel is of excellent business 4* standard, with spacious guest rooms and very good location in city centre. Thanks to the G20, the hotel was newly refurbished hence the rooms were of very high standard and comfortable. West Lake, the main attraction in Hangzhou, is about only 10 minutes ride by taxi. The service was really good and the check-in was express. The concierge was friendly and provided umbrellas to guests...no deposit. In general I had a very pleasant stay.... Definitely will stay at this hotel again in my next visit.
