What a brilliant, centrally located hotel - close to all the shops, restaurants and walks - check in was effortless, the hotel spotless with lots of charm. We stayed in the snug room and it was perfect, even down to the 2 little chocolates left on the bed for my birthday nice touch. Rooms have everything needed, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, lovely toiletries and big fluffy towels!. Bar and restaurant area was immaculate, we never ate in the restaurant but definitely took advantage of the 3 hour, happy hour for cocktails - the espresso martinis are great! Breakfast each more was as hearty or as light as you like with plenty to choose from on the hot counter and then all your cereals, oats, and fruit on the other - with plentiful of juices, coffees and tea... It was Easter Sunday and the little mini eggs were a lovely surprise to each have one in the morning, thank you All in all a great few days stay and will genuinely say we will be back
We stayed for three nights in a Superior Double Room in January on a B&B basis. The hotel in situated on the one way system in Lyndhurst. We found it easy to find and parked easily in their car park. Our room overlooked the car park and we had no problem with traffic noise. We also ate two nights in the restaurant. Breakfast is self service and very good. Use the lift as it's wonderful. We found all staff to be friendly and helpful. We would happily return for another visit.
Stayed for 1 night in family room. The hotel called in advance to make sure they had the beds we required for the kids, offering cots or z beds, and everything was ready for our arrival. The hotel is right on the high street and offers parking at the rear. The location is convenient for nearby restaurants and cafes and a short walk to Bolton's Bench where horses roam free and the views are lovely. Also convenient is the Fox and Hound family friendly pub where we had an excellent dinner. The Hotel room was modern clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was self service hot and cold buffet and was also very good. I'd recommend for a short family stay.
Stayed here for my birthday Easter Sunday and Monday. Very comfortable 4 poster bed. All the staff were friendly. Breakfast was great with a huge choice of food, though personally I always find self service food to be on the tepid side. The only issue we had was that our room was at the top of the stairs so people going up and down stairs were quite noisy, and some person saw fit to slam doors at 4.20am which wasn’t nice.
Little gem . Welcoming team , Helpful , accommodating, went the extra mile without needing to be asked . Such a pleasant stay . Well maintained interior, immaculate old world hotel , just lovely . In town centre opposite church , perfect location for walking New Forest.
I wish I could leave a review about staying in this hotel. Sadly we got no further than the front desk. I booked over the phone 2 weeks before to stay for a night on Saturday 31st March. I was given a reference number. No email confirmation came through but I thought the booking reference would be fine. On arrival the hotel did not have our booking. After some investigation it emerged that the call i'd made 2 weeks before had been diverted to a London hotel in the same group, and unbeknownst to me I'd booked a night there. Apparently the Crown Manor had been having issues with their phone system around this period. Instead of doing his best to find a room for us in the hotel, the man at reception (Andrew Moody) said there was nothing he could do, no room at the inn, and that someone would be in touch with us on Tuesday when the reservations manager is back at work. After some persuasion he found us a room in a 3 star hotel 20 minutes drive away. Obviously no call or email came from the reservations manager on Tuesday and I'm not expecting one. It's why I asked for their phone number so i could contact them myself, as I knew we wouldn't be hearing anything. I was told "I can't give that out, they will be in touch". Having taken the time to select the hotel, call and book, give my bank details over the phone, and then driven several hours to the hotel, only to get this level of service, in my eyes is totally unacceptable. Mistakes happen, but there were SO many opportunities for this hotel to sort the situation out. Unsurprisingly, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
We stayed for 5 nights with this hotel, in the central of Lyndhurst. The hotel called us to check a few days before we travelled, and making sure that we have all the information in hand. When we arrived, I was already impressed by the modern country decor, with small attention to details of offering half-priced cocktails at happy hours. A much needed after a long drive! The room we had was superior classic with plenty of space, and a comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful to provide all the useful info to get around in the forest during our stay. The room we booked came with free breakfast. I love cooked breakfast, just gave us all the energy to start off the eventful day every morning! Hotel is also very thoughtful to have a bike hub— the bike hiring shop (The woods Cyclery) on the high street closes at 5pm, but we were allowed to keep the bikes overnight at the hotel and return to the shop the next morning before 9:30am, in case we needed extra time for cycling in the forest. That was extremely thoughtful- although we did manage to cycle back just before 4:30pm, in the rain, and with a young child in the bike seat at the back. Look nowhere else if you are thinking for a comfortable hotel, with good connection of WiFi, good location and nice service. We will definitely come back to stay with Crown Manor when we next visit to the new forest. For those who are planning first time to the new forest like me, Lyndhurst is a little town right in the middle in New Forest, with good connection to all other villages in the forest. This is a great location for us, travelling with a 4-year old child. There are places we can hired bikes as a family to explore the forest, and also very easy to access to all the riding schools for both adults and child.
large rambling Hotel in the middle of Lyndhurst, good for exploring the New Forest, Comfortable room though not large even though booked an Executive, staff very friendly, took breakfast for 2 days, self service (pity no fish options I like my haddock/kippers) but plentiful.
Good hotel, with a nice bar with tasty cocktails. Very friendly and nice staff. The Breakfast was good. Location is great for new forest and town. My only problem was with our room, there was an access door to the next room. It meant we could hear our neighbours conversations at times....and maybe an intimate moment or two.
Spent a Sunday night here on their special D,B and B offer. A cosy quiet room at the back gave us a good night's sleep and both the dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and overall helped us to enjoy a night away. The hotel is actually on the High Street so easy access to shops. Wonderful walking either on foot from hotel or short car rides. Oh, bye the way, you must use the lift - it is unique!
